For the balloon test, not a bad idea, and maybe we can hitch a ride on these other guys on the forum's project to make a high-atmosphere balloon with a 3D printed model of Jeb, Bill, and Bob. For rendezvous and RORSAT? We discussed this earlier in the thread, and it's essentially impossible to cram all the fuel, RCS, and computers into even a 3U space.

Project - sending a Jeb figurine into stratosphere
Nicholander replied to lajoswinkler's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Ah, interesting to see another project inspired by the KSP Community CubeSat, I do wish you guys good luck! Though, I'm really annoyed when people talk about the KSP Community CubeSat (KSPCC) like it's stupid, impossible, or just plain dumb. And also, why did you say: "...was the KSP Community CubeSat?" It's still going on, so I don't see any reason to talk about it like that. I'm not trying to say that this project is stupid, all I'm saying is that I disagree with the criticism of the KSP Community CubeSat. -
Sorry, that's what I meant to say. Derp.

3_bit, we've decided to have our only interplanetary destination be Mars, and maybe Venus, but we've ditched the outer planets. Also, our CubeSat will be a 1U one with one half of it having the systems to run it (Antennas, MPUs, CPUs, etc.), and the other half having a pressurized area with some moss, and the whole spacecraft will also spin, creating artificial sub-gravity. (I say sub because it will be Moon and Mars gravities)

Yes yes, call me lazy, but I don't want to watch the more then 24 hours* long of "Interstellar Quest" videos to watch the latest one and not be confused, and I just want a summary of what's happened in it since the first episode, that's all. Also, if you say "Stop being lazy and watch it", I will eject you from the solar system. *I think it's more then 24 hours long, but I'm not sure.

Ah, good plan Mazon Del. Also, how is the sim going K^2?
-
Yeah, but we'll probably need some help from Mazon Del for that.
-
What do you mean? You've just posted on this thread for the first time!
-
That deal seems a bit too good to be true, and are you sure there's no strings attached?
-
TheAwer, it's 124 pages of forum thread, so we've already decided what the CubeSat will do.

Post your spaceplane fleet
Nicholander replied to Roflcopterkklol's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
ZLM, those are awesome! I don't have a spaceplane fleet yet , but I have made a "Reusable Vertical SSTO", as I like to call them. Essentially, they're a rocket LV, but they are just one stage, have a probe core, parachutes, and landing gear so they can be reused, but I won't post pictures of them because they aren't spaceplanes. -
Uh, I have a few problems with this: When I click on the icon on the bottom in the VAB (Haven't tried the Spaceplane hanger yet), I only see the vertical VAB-like launch sites, and I only have KerbinSide, so where are the runways, helipads, and other stuff? I got the all in one pack. Okay, i read the OP, but I seriously hate that "Restrict custom launch sites" feature, I mean, it's easier to build vertical space shuttles in the SPH, but then I can't use this to launch from the launch pad? Is there a way to remove that feature which does not involve going through each every cfg? And, after you exit the VAB, go to the main menu, and go into another save (A career save), the KK icon just disappears. I tried this in the spaceplane hanger, the other saves I have, etc. and it's not there. And I think you can only fix that by quiting KSP and restarting it. Which is long and tedious with the amount of mods I have. (Yes, I have ActiveTextureManagment) I have Windows 8, KSP 0.24.2, 32 bit.

Though I asked this before, those anyone know where to download Soviet Engines?
-
Als K^2, when are you going to update the first post? Yes, I've asked it before and you said yes, but I haven't seen it change since the last time I asked you it, which I THINK was 2 or 3 weeks ago.

[1.0.2] One-Eye Industries- Back in Action! [v1.1]
Nicholander replied to OrbitusII's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Yes, I know what you said, but it's been 10 days. Have you done anything on the Manned Version and Solar Panels? -
CCiCap was announced, SpaceX and Boeing were selected
Nicholander replied to B787_300's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Sorry I was a bit late to check who won this, but I was actually hoping for the Dream Chaser to be one of the winners. (Yes, I know they've said that they'll still try to make it) -
Realistic Solar System Crafts - MEGATHREAD
Nicholander replied to Captain_Party's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Just another day of KSP RSS... Trying to make a "Real Sci-Fi" Thing, with stuff like 2001: A Space Odyssey and 1952 Von Braun Colliers. (This is supposed to be the first satellite ever, launched in 1953 from Vandenburg,) Then making a spaceplane, It's actually pretty good, and you can see the jet engines it used to get to 400 m/s and 20 kilometers altitude below. On a suborbital trajectory, didn't make it to orbit, but hey, first flight. And... uh... The parts it's made out of don't have any heat shielding, so... Also, I did this like a week ago, but I landed a manned mission on the Moon for the first time! But, well, when I went to the tracking station to go back to it to return home, it wasn't there. Vanished. I went to the flag that was I made Jeb put down next to it, and it was gone! And then I checked the Astro/Kerbo/Cosmonaut complex and it said Jeb was dead. So Origin-1, my Moon mission, disappeared. Wonderful. -
Uh... Please stay on topic... Though, seriously, just get AdBlock!
-
Uh... Sauron? Any updates?
-
Awesome Mazon Del! Yeah, I think we should do that moss instead of the spirulina. Or, we can have half of the pressurized area have Physcomitrella Patens moss, and the other half have spirulina.

Endersmens, the KSI and KCC (KSP Community CubeSat) are 2 different projects, but they are cooperating and have similar goals.
