1. Do you have an old version of the Asteroid day official mod installed?
2. Is it only unavailable when viewing in the tracking station or have you lost the scans when you're actually at the planet/moon? Mine shows unavailable in the tracking station but is still there when I'm at the target body regardless of whether the scanner is still there.
3.
Polar, Ap 89, peri 80 - - - Updated - - - Science mode. Looking for Mun base location. Get to the Mun, establish orbit, establish polar orbit, circularize, 1010 electricity, open scanner...click click click on the "Perform orbital survey" button.
In science mode you don't have to click the "perform survey" button, placing the scanner in the correct orbit does the scan automatically. If you focus on the Mun you should find the ore survey results are available.
4. If you don't want to move the satellite, don't and if you don't want to lose rep by declining the contract just wait 6 days and the contract will expire with no penalty and be replaced by a new one.
5. Might need more information. If you're running the asteroid day mod you might have to update it as the old version can affect some things.
6. Forgot to put parachutes on a test ship so everyone had to bail out once they were subsonic. 100% successful landings so I suppose the new water mechanic helps.
7. Pfft, he didn't sound Scottish at all.
8. At the bottom of the message pile is the world's first messages, provided you don't delete that message you should be able to pull them up from the messages tab in the top right hand corner of the screen or in the VAB message button. These ones are stitched together for ease of reading but they'll all be scrollable when you click on the blue "worlds first" message tab (you may need to delete messages from the list to see the blue tab).
9. These are mine so far, More than 800,000 funds so they're a nice little earner.
10. Traction is the main issue and if you have the Ion engine you can mount one upside down on rovers that will operate on low grvity worlds so that they can apply down force during acceleration and braking. e.g-
11. You could probably set up an escape from Hoth scene near the north pole or collect a whole load of asteroids and fly it through them
12. I'd try leaving to the space centre and returning to see if that changes it. If not you may need to Alt-f12 to check the debug menu. I've had a contract not recognize that my station was orbiting Minmus in 1.0.5 and had to manually mark it as complete.
13. I've had reposition satellite contracts and a couple of contracts asking for temperature surveys on Minmus near two of my landed probes. The temperature surveys change as you go, asking you to look in one spot and then adding a new site to check once you've done the first one.
14. You will also save a little on your Minmus capture since you'll have an orbit closer to the target orbit but it's still not much of a saving.
15. Unshielded reentry seems ok unless your ship gets sideways or prograde during the reentry and then it explodes rapidly at lower speeds and higher altitudes than they did in 1.0.4. I had a mk1 pod explode on ascent doing 1370m/s at 17km so it looks like the pods have lost any kind of TPS on the front end.
16. Look down in IVA mode at the screen that says docking mode and double click on it.
17. Are you sure the root part was the command pod? If it's added later it doesn't get crewed automatically.
18. I you do want to haul a full 8t booster into orbit you can mount the booster upside down on top of a stack fairly easily with a small liquid fuel engine and tank underneath it and a probe core and battery. If you're pointing prograde the booster test will de orbit the test vehicle. Back when parts test were the only type of contract I hauled those things all over the place for testing.
19. The claw isn't broken for everybody but if you've had a problem it may be best to avoid it or at least save the game before docking with it. I've only ever had one issue with it after bringing a craft back from Duna and docking at the Mun station. Much spontaneous disassembly was had but I use it quite a lot and every other time it's worked fine.
