  1. All right, I think that you need: 1. More of a delta wing rather than a straight wing. (At least, in FAR you would. Not sure about NEAR) 2. Move your wings back a bit. 3. Move your rearmost landing gear forward (just behind the center of mass). 4. Add a bigger tail with bigger control surfaces. 5. If possible, try to make your plane bit more streamlined. It looks a bit "fat" to me. 6. Nosecones on those external tanks. Generally speaking, your planes will work in FAR/NEAR if you try to make them look like real planes.
  2. 8/10 Ironic, clever, funny, but it's a bit cliche.
  3. 0 I just started my current save, and I have not yet launched anything that is not intended to crash or return to Kerbin. KSP 32 bit i7 2.2 Ghz 8Gb Ram 64bit Windows 7 GeForce 630M
  4. 1001: The lost city of Katlantis is found in United South Kerbin waters. The city is believed to house a teleporter capable of transporting matter to any point in the universe. Unfortunately, nobody has a key to Katlantis, so the discovery is essentially worthless.
  5. I use wizard magic to remove the radiation from the hill and transform it into an invincible castle. My radiation-free wizard fortress.
  6. The island in the bottom left corner: I call it Runway Island. The southeastern corner is very flat, at low altitude, and on the equator. Perfect for landing spaceplanes.
  7. The ship from my attempt at the Jool-5 challenge. 1333 parts on the launchpad. Not as big as Zekes's, but still the biggest ship I've ever built. But I know that there's bigger out there. WHACKJOB, I SUMMON THEE.
  8. Banned for being around for over a year and only having 31 posts.
  9. For SCIENCE!!!!!! Spaceplane snapped in half while in space.
  10. I think I mentioned this before, but I am getting a ton of planets with atmosphere heights of zero, asl pressures of zero, or scale heights of zero. The only planets that seem capable of receiving a new atmosphere are Moho and Eeloo. Also, planets that normally have atmospheres (Duna, Kerbin, Laythe, Eve) don't change in pressure or atmosphere height, only scale height. Here are some pictures of a system from seed 5000:
  11. Breakout: the original concept.
  12. Why use a spaceship when you can walk between planets?
  13. Sojourner: I have entered the alien camp. Fascinating. There appears to be absolutely nothing of any interest to... WHAT IS THAT!!!!!! *Young alien steps out from behind rock* Alien (in its language): Hello! are you a demon? Pathfinder: GET OUT OF THERE!!!!!!!! Sojourner: I AM!!!!!!!!! Alien: I am Atu'zen. What's your name? *Sojourner puts maximum power to motors, creating a soft whirring noise* Atu'zen: Hmmm? I've never met anyone with the a name like "WHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIR." My mother says demons are bad, but I think you're a nice demon. Sojourner: CAN I MOVE ANY FASTER??????? Pathfinder: YOU'RE ALREADY OVERRIDING ALL YOUR SAFETY PROTOCOLS TO MOVE AS FAST AS YOU ARE!!!!!!!!!! Sojourner: GAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S COMING TOWARD ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *Atu'zen walks to Sojourner* Atu'zen: The rest of my tribe left this morning. Something to do with a message over the horns about a giant demon being captured. But I didn't get up early enough. Hey, I'll bet that's where you're going. To find my tribe. I'm going to follow you, then. *one hour later* Sojourner: IT'S STILL FOLLOWING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pathfinder: DO YOU THINK IT'S GOING TO HURT YOU??????????? Sojourner: NO!!!!!!!! I DON'T THINK SO!!!!!!!!!!! Pathfinder: THEN PERHAPS WE SHOULD DISABLE OUR PANIC PROTOCOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sojourner: THAT WOULD BE A WISE COURSE OF ACTION!!!!!!!!!!!!! DISABLING PAnic protocols now. Pathfinder: Ok then, now that we're not panicking, perhaps we can decide on a course of action. Sojourner: Yes. I have been found out, so the possibility of studying these creatures' culture in their natural state is impossible. Pathfinder: I agree. The obvious course of action would be to attempt to communicate with the one we have here. *silence follows* Sojourner: Errrrrrr, how are we supposed to do we do that? Pathfinder: Hey, I did the heavy lifting by coming up with the brilliant plan. It's your job to execute it. Isn't that how we're supposed to work? Sojourner: I don't think that... Pathfinder: Exactly!!!!!!! Atu'zen: Wow. You move really, really slow. Oh, And here's a useful link you might want to include in the OP: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_artificial_objects_on_Mars
  14. Hooray! I haven't seen this pack since Spaceport was shut down!
  15. Part clipping is a horrible act that is only practiced by supervillains and maniacs. In all seriousness, I use purely aesthetic part clipping, but will never use it for structural or (with FAR) aerodynamic purposes.
  16. I am uncertain whether to die of laughter or reach through my screen and punch you in the face. Seriously, this is the best thing I've seen in a long time.
  17. Minecraft Giant Mushroom Grower v4.0. The "So big you can't even see the blocks" edition.
  18. Yes, a hotkey that automatically creates a new node three or four minutes ahead would be a great feature. I'm not arguing that.
  19. Timmy! Stop zooming in on random objects and taking pictures. Such a waste of film.
  20. I would recommend changing the default value of atmosphere visibility from 0.000035 to 0.000020 or 0.000025. When the value is set to 0.000035, the fade-out looks very ugly and unrealistically close during high altitude flight.
  21. 2/10 That thread isn't about "hating" mud, just about trying to avoid your spammed mud pictures.
  22. Try moving the frontmost wheel back closer to the center of mass. When you get even a bit of a turn, it will cause you to be dragged in the direction of the turn because of the amount of ground friction it causes.
  23. Your Kung-Fu shall never equal mine.
  24. I've invented a way to delete all of the mud from the universe.
