  1. Why not let it load in the background? In fact, there could be a setting that says "allow KSP to load when minimized." I like how it pauses when minimized in the flight scene, though.
  2. Those warp limits are annoying, especially when waiting for a transfer window. Perhaps it should be "after one orbit at time warp, time warp limits are removed" or like what is done with physics warp. "Warning, warping above X could cause you to crash into a planet if you're not careful. Are you sure you want to enter higher time warp? *do not show this again option*" Maybe both. Not sure I like the "override button" the OP talks about though.
  3. I'm noticing a lot of these: NullReferenceException at (wrapper managed-to-native) UnityEngine.Transform:INTERNAL_CALL_TransformDirection (UnityEngine.Transform,UnityEngine.Vector3&) at UnityEngine.Transform.TransformDirection (Vector3 direction) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at ActiveJoint.getControlOrt (Vector3 refAxis, PartSpaceMode mode) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at ActiveJoint.applyCoordsUpdate () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at ActiveJoint.onPartPack (.Part p) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at EventData`1[Part].Fire (.Part data) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at Part.Pack () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at Vessel.GoOnRails () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at OrbitPhysicsManager.LateUpdate () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 In both logs. I've never seen this before. Could it be that Mechjeb spamming errors is not the cause of the problem, but rather the result of it?
  4. Hmmm... a trailer park... a barn... bags of sand blocking paths... tracking station looks like it is a few pieces of sheet metal bolted together... Why aren't these things final tier?
  5. Ok then. CHALLENGE COMPLETED! (again) Your new score is: 48,420 Which puts you in first place. Very, very well-designed mission.
  6. Since you said this, I have am now obligated to post the Tylo lander from my Jool-5 mission. Your rocket is overbuilt when you can destroy a mainsail on your lifter stage and have the difference made up for by thrust vectoring.
  7. Well, I believe that Venus is relatively flat over much of its surface, so much of the water may accumulate in the flatter areas to form a number of small lakes.
  8. When you land on Duna on your way to Jool to relieve the monotony of interplanetary transfer.
  9. That looks good to me. The only thing I might consider is more fuel. But, you know, you can always cheat and Hyperedit your ships ahead to see if they work employ a transportation utility to determine the functionality of your craft on other planets before the official launch is scheduled.
  10. Peace, man. Can't we all just get along?
  11. I'd add more engines, more panels, more control surfaces, and more wings. In my experience, Eve's gravity mostly cancels any improved lift from its atmosphere, so I would definitely add more power.
  12. Looking at your second pic, it looks like it may be some kind of problem with your graphics card. Try running KSP with integrated graphics, if you can.
  13. Oh, totally forgot about this thread. I remember I looked through the output_log file and didn't see anything that would indicate a problem (which is why I didn't bother to upload it), but I have gathered some more data about the bug's its occurrence. 1. It happens more often after being in the VAB for a long time, or after placing numerous parts (not sure which). 2. Going to the flight scene (and maybe other scenes) and then back to the VAB will often reset the stutter. 3. Said this before, but the stutter occurs most often when a high part count ship is in the VAB. 4. The stutter can occur in the flight scene (though not nearly as bad as in the VAB), but quickloading seems to reset the stutter. The stutter returns after looking at the map view. Also, I can confirm that it is not FAR causing the problem, as I removed it and the bug still occurs.
  14. A full list of mods is required, but it looks like some kind of RSS debug function to me. You have no idea what key combination you pressed? Are you certain it's a key combination that triggers it? A way to reliably reproduce it would go a long way to figuring out what your problem is. EDIT: Also, upload the output_log file from your C:/Kerbal Space Program/KSP_Data folder to a file sharing service so we can haave a look at that.
  15. Well, technically I require that you repeat the mission, but... I can see that the challenge gets awfully boring awfully fast if you are just completing the EXACT SAME MISSION over and over again. So, I think that I will set a precedent here: if your fuel usage and craft design *clearly* indicates that you can complete multiple launches, I will not require that you do the mission again, and I will (very conservatively) estimate how many launches can be performed. (Actually, I think that I will make a separate scoreboard for this kind of entry.) So, that being said I think that I have to say: CHALLENGE COMPLETED! Unfortunately, I can't count you for a full four launches because of your oxidizer usage. Mathematically, it makes sense that you could just tweak in a little bit more oxidizer and maybe add just a bit more LF to get a full four launches. But, because your didn't, I can't say that you could do four launches. So, I can only say that you are capable of three launches. Also, My math says that you total multiplier is actually 2.5+2.3+3.7+3.4+3.3+3.5+3.7+4.5=26.9 So: 26.9 * 100 * (3 - 1) ^ 2= 10,760 It does look like you manage to double your score, but I will need your craft file to check this for sure. No bonuses, I think, so unless you get me your craft file, your score will remain at 10,760, which puts you in second place.
  16. You know, those nuclear bombs can be awfully dangerous... HEY! LEMME SHOW YOU SOMETHING!
  17. I can write some basic programs in c++ and I took my computer apart once and could probably upgrade it if I wanted. Otherwise, that's about the extent of my computer knowledge.
  18. The game's over. Can I get out of the mascot suit now?
  19. Doctor Emmet Brown. Time travels and prevents his memories from being stolen in the first place.
  20. Wouldn't it make more sense to have a universal "no infiniglider/kraken drive" rule, have hard mode as it is now, then have an ultra-hard mode where staging if forbidden?
  21. It is most certainly possible. Ion gliders are able to get to orbit, and I think I saw someone do something like hard mode for a different challenge.
  22. You would think taking a calculus class would cure me of stupid arithmetic mistakes like that. (I'm serious. I do that all the time.) You're right. You wouldn't be airhogging before the first engines shut off, but you would be afterwards.
