Yes, it does. By the definition in the rules, you would be airhogging even before the 4 engines turn off. (Five or more intakes per engines are airogging. Four or less are not airhogging. Unless you are using FAR/NEAR, which nerf jet engines to where true airhogging is impossible.) EDIT: Looks like I have to go back to elementary school. 20/5=4, not 5. Airhogging won't disqualify your entry, though.

Moho-Eeloo transfer (Difficulty warning)
Vaporo replied to Xannari Ferrows's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Hmmm. Hardcore certainly looks doable. Though why the part limit? It seems kind of arbitrary. -
Unity 5 Possible Release date
Vaporo replied to Alshain's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I think that it's the new physics engine that makes it exciting for KSP. If I am correct, it allows for multithreaded physics, while currently physics in KSP are single threaded. It will allow for massively larger physics calculations on multi-core processors. EDIT: Oh, and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2BNmn8TYdE Unity 5 is almost out! -
What is the avatar of the person above you saying/thinking?

Some day, I will find that guy who took my leg. And when I do, I will make him pay. -
The Eve Rocks Challenge (v0.90 only)
Vaporo replied to Laie's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Well, the challenge with FAR is that you have to build a lander that is aerodynamically stable going down as well as up. It requires way less delta-v for the ascent (I think I did it with around 9000 or so from sea level), but making a lander that doesn't try to nosedive while going down, spin out of control going up, and get torn apart when parachutes deploy is quite a challenge. -
I can get up to around 200-250 before the physics timer starts to turn yellow, but I build much more massive crafts than that. The largest I've ever built had 1333 parts and was used to complete the Jool-5 challenge.

Texture Replacer is awesome. -
You say it lags all the time? Even with low part count ships? With an i7 processor (albeit an older one)? Well, what do your log files say? You can view the log by pressing alt-f2. Sounds to me like something is spamming nullreferenceexceptions. Look for anything in red. Also, if you really want support you will need to post the output_log file from the KSP_Data folder in your Kerbal Space Program directory.

Add sharper nosecone
Vaporo replied to bartekkru99's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
My question is this: Why was the nosecone made in two pieces? There's no advantage of having it in two pieces, and all it does is increase part counts. And yes, we will need more nosecones when better aerodynamics are introduced. Right now, though I'm willing to live with mod nosecones. -
To be bluntly honest, you seem a little bit obsessed with mud and muddy boots. To be even more bluntly honest, it is kind of creepy. (Nothing wrong with liking the feeling of mud, but still...)

3/10 Seen you a bunch in the forum games. Not much elsewhere.

How come I have wings if they're too small to let me take off? -
The Eve Rocks Challenge (v0.90 only)
Vaporo replied to Laie's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Stock aerodynamics... ugh. Well, I did it with a probe, no reason I can't do it with a Kerbal. Though maybe you could make a FAR/NEAR aerodynamics subchallenge, as they actually make many aspects of EVE landing (not ascent, landing) quite difficult. -
(borrowed from the Eve Rocks challenge) Generally, I will allow non-F12 part clipping so long as you don't go crazy with it. Though, the topmost kind of part clipping in the picture may still be worthy of an asterisk next to the entry. It is very much a subjective thing. Refueling from something left on the surface of Kerbin during a launch, or any other celestial body for that matter, is not allowed. (rule 4) I may, however, make a refueling-allowed sub-challenge eventually. 1. Yes. The entry at the top of the scoreboard did this. 2. Yes. I used it in my own attempt, so I can hardly forbid it. (I should really start to make a whitelist of legal mods.)

Thank you. I only used the crew tanks during the landings on Laythe and Kerbin. All seats in the plane were full for the Kerbin landing, and the cockpit stored two of the three Kerbals for the Laythe landing. Otherwise, Kerbals were stored in the cockpit and Hitchhiker can on the mothership (I liked to pretend they were on shifts. Four at a time slept or relaxed while the other two were on cockpit duty). What is... "optimize" Seriously, doing that wasn't so much a matter of optimization as "Ok, as much as I like big ships, I am still not flying the Lagtron 4000 to two extra moons when I can do it in this thing."

Building collision glitch on KSC approach.
Vaporo replied to Dizzle's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Weiiiiiird. Well, what mods are you using, version of KSP, log files, etc. Otherwise, nobody can help you. -
All right, here's my attempt. One launch No refuelings. One Hitchhiker crew cabin. Crew of six. Mission done in 0.25, but most of assembly was done in 0.24.2 Mods used:FAR, B9, KW Rocketry, TAC Fuel Balancer, Better time warp, MechJeb. 1333 parts, the largest rocket I have ever built. Sorry if some points, particularly orbital rendezvous, seem poorly documented. Imgur won't let me have more than 225 images, so I had to cut out a lot of pictures (in fact, the album is exactly 225 images long). Also, I can redo the launch with the GUI on if you need it. Imgur link in case the forum crops the album: http://imgur.com/a/PkWMj#16

There's actually a bonus for doing a Jool-5 mission. You most certainly can. CHALLENGE COMPLETED Impressive. I never actually thought that anyone would even try for Eve, let alone make it. All right. I don't see any signs of cheating, so: Eve has a multiplier of 11. You made 2 trips. So: (11 * (2 - 1)^2 * 100)=1100 You got the Manning the Guns bonus, so +100 And you didn't give a screenshot of the final mass of the vessel, so I can't give you any start-end mass bonuses. If you post them I'll add it in later. Unfortunately, that only gives you a score of 1200. Seriously, you deserve a higher score for doing this. In fact, have some rep.
