  1. Is this still true? I have a workshop sitting on top of a 1000L container and it says I can only print 300L items. EDIT: Ok, so turns out it doesn't reinitialize when the workbench itself is constructed with KIS. After popping to the space center and back again all is well. Also, for what it's worth, I like being able to print large items for base construction. The MKS trusses, for example, are needed in good quantity, but their volume is huge (even though their mass is low). Shipping them is annoying.
  2. Sure, but Nvidia's problem was a bug. Bugs happen, we don't like it but they do. Microsoft's problem was a design choice. Huge difference.
  3. My big issue with it is from a computer professional standpoint. For the average user auto-updates are a wonderful and glorious thing to have. However Microsoft assuming it knows better than the IT professional is not. Case in point, when Windows 10 first came out I jumped on the bandwagon and upgraded for free. Windows 10 decided to update my Nvidia drivers, no problem right? So then the game I was playing quit working properly (Elite: Dangerous if you need to know). I uninstalled them only and restored the original drivers on my machine only to have Windows decided it knew better than I did and put the new ones back. I uninstalled Windows 10 after less than a week and never went back. Forced updates are not a good thing, especially when it's a 3rd party company's drivers and the user is an IT pro that knows better than your average user. If ever Windows 7 can't be used I'd rather go to Linux than Windows 10. That said Windows 10 is great for the average consumer who never updates their OS and should. OS updates are pretty important.
  4. It's better than Windows 8. The negative reviews are comparing it to Windows 7 which is the Cadillac of Windows. Windows 8 was a complete travesty and should be eliminated like Windows ME. Speaking of which, I use Windows 7.
  5. It's in there but it unlocks deep in the tech tree. It's huge, it's meant for endgame.
  6. There is one right there on the side of that Tundra module.
  7. Is it safe to remove Ground Construction? I gave it a shot but either I did something really wrong or you have to send up a DIY kit for every craft you want to build which completely defeats the purpose of off-world construction. Anyway, KSP AVC keeps telling me it is out of date (the version that comes with MKS) and I have no more desire to use it so can I remove it without breaking MKS?
  8. I've done a refactor of Action Group Manager and the localization is now here (86 Lines) https://github.com/Alshain01/ActionGroupManager/tree/master/ActionGroupManager/Localization
  9. I had an idea for a feature. Would it be possible to get the Quick Add dialog added to the right click function of the App Launcher button. Then we wouldn't even have open the main window, can't get much quicker than that.
  10. Are you trying to edit existing contracts you have accepted, edit new contracts as the appear to you, or add new types of contracts? For the first one, persistence editing would be the only way. For the second, you can do that with Module Manager by editing the Contracts tag (stored in GameData\Squad\Contracts\Contracts.cfg) For the last, contract configurator is the best way.
  11. A lot of that depends on how much content ends up in them. I notice they are calling them "Expansions" not "DLC". Expansion is an older term and usually indicates more content than DLC. I think Blizzard Entertainment either started or made popular the "Expansion Pack" terms with their WarCraft/StarCraft/Diablo seires. However, the biggest concern is that truthfully, any parts they can add are already available for free from mods. All of this "Making History" stuff, I can point you to equivalent mods that have those kind of parts very easily. So that leaves it up to the programmed content to sell it. That will differ per person, Personally I haven't seen anything as of yet that interests me in the coming 'expansion' but I'm the type that makes my own story in KSP. I don't do the challenges forum, I don't participate in the weekly challenges, and as far as I can see Mission Builder has no value to me. I do my thing, not what other people tell me to. Unfortunately, given the sandbox nature of this game, I feel the majority would agree with that, but I have no numbers to truly back it up. Nevertheless, I don't think the Making History 'expansion' will sell very well for all of these reasons (barring of course features we do not know of at this time)
  12. I don't have any control over CKAN. I don't use it and I can't support it. Sorry.
  13. These guys have been my favorite for a long time, but their namesake song (below) from the first album is still my favorite.
  14. I know it's not the usual space fare, but never the less... Everyone with access should go watch this. This without a doubt one of the most powerful documentaries I've ever seen in my life. EDIT for trailer
  15. I fear you may run into issues with that approach due to the way the parts are attached in a cascading tree. What happens to parts that are not used in construction that are attached to a part that is used? It suddenly has no home. I'm not going to say it's impossible but the logistics behind it will be an incredible challenge.
  16. KIS is abstracted. It works purely on volume because it would be almost impossible to work based on shape. So as far as KIS is concerned, anything put into it's containers becomes shapeless plasma and it converts back when it comes back out. However that also includes the air that would fill it. For example, the trusses in MKS are intended to be mostly air, because they are like habitat walkways, they are very low mass for their size... but they won't go in most containers due to their volume. In the end it's an abstraction but it's still pretty far from complete magic. It's no more magic than half the things in stock KSP.
  17. I think it's winding down. They might push a few DLC packages but those aren't all that profitable (since mods do most everything) and eventually they will realize it's time to move to the next chapter of the franchise. Whether that will KSP2 or some other variant in the Kerbal universe (Kerbal Flight Program, , Kerbal Submarine Program, Kerbal Motorsports Program, I could go on for days) is yet to be seen. I doubt we will see any new planets at this stage.
  18. F5 is a universal standard quicksave key. Most keyboards have a large gap between F4 and F5 anyway.
  19. Who said anything about court? I never mentioned legal action, I was more referring to banishment from Squad's services. Not just Squad's either. Though Spacedock doesn't technically have to follow Squad's rules, Squad has the ability to blacklist their links on the forums if they feel their content is too far in violation of them (they have done it before with other sites) so it's more likely that the managers of Spacedock would ban your mods as well rather than allow their site to be blacklisted. This is all theoretical of course. But lets not push into reality please.
  20. The only normal thing that would cause craft to be suddenly deleted (other than doing it manually from the tracking station) is if you had mods installed and your craft had parts from those mods, and you then uninstalled those mods. In that case the craft can't be loaded and it removes them.
  21. What exactly do you expect from this thread then? Even if it is a bug, and a bug in the current version, the only way it would get fixed is through an update.
  22. Are these safe to use on my main game? Or.. is that release coming anytime soon? The null ref spam logs are actually slowing my game to a point that I'm finding it difficult to land near my base. I have to go shut down my nearby drill anytime begin a landing.
  23. I could be mistaken, but I believe that is the descriptive text that appears in a text field but is not returned as part of the entered data. For example, in the VAB/SPH part search box, the phrase "Enter Search..." appears in the box. That is the place holder.
