  1. Looking at those pictures, all I can say is Wow. KSP has come a long, long way. I started with v0.23.5 ... so I'm still a noob lol.
  2. Thanks for that information. I'll go hunt for the log and then through the log... dying to know what the heck happened. Does this weird stuff happen just with Moho, or am I to expect maybe the same with other low-gravity bodies - say, around Dres? I don't suppose baby-sitting the next one I put up at Moho would make a difference? Anyway... thanks again.
  3. Just thought of something... you might be able to search the shatters.net forums via the Internet Archive Wayback Machine. https://web.archive.org/web/*/www.shatters.net
  4. While I'm familar with .celx & lua (I can read it, but have never tried to write anything in it), I used to take a simpler route and just use .cel scripts. I always seemed to manage to have issues/problems with reference frames (most likely a lack of understanding on my part lol). I don't know if they're still out there being the shatters.net forums are gone, but Selden Ball wrote some very helpful documentation (he and several others as well)... you might try including his name in a Google 'celestia' search. As for the scripts needing licenses... I don't think so, as long as it's for non-commercial use. Check the Celestia TOS, I think all that's required is proper citation/mention... but don't quote me on that. I know Fridger (Dr. Fridger Schrempp, dev and head-honcho of Celestial Matters) doesn't care much for Celestia discussion in his forums, but you might try there also anyway - just use some tact when you do. That's where all the devs went to after Chris Laurel moved on (he was the creator of Celestia). Good luck.
  5. I put a SCANsat up around Moho the other day (see picture below). I left it orbiting, scanning, mapping. I was working on (and just finished) putting another in Dres polar orbit. When I went back to check on the progress on Moho... the satellite was gone, no sign of it what-so-ever, not even debris. Kraken? Don't know. A bit disappointed because it was quite a task getting there. :/
  6. For the most part, I enjoy a 'vanilla' game. But, I found docking very hard - for me anyway. Then I discovered the Lazor Docking Camera; I find it a valuable mod, makes docking so much easier, and in my opinion more realistic. Check it out. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/9923
  7. I've been busy the past few days putting up SCANsat satellites. Having built one, which worked well, I ran with it and launched several others to each of my targets... which is pretty much every body in the Kerbol system. The closer in and farther out I go, has required new launchers pretty much for each mission. The hardest one so far was trying to get a workable orbit for Gilly; It ended up "sub-optimal", but I achieved worthy scans none-the-less. Orbital adjustments around Gilly had to be achieved using RCS thrusters lol. Can't wait to see what else waits for me out there! Some pictures... Kerbin Mun Minmus Eve Gilly Moho Duna Ike And this one will be getting ready for a burn to Dres later today. Looks like I'll only have a 3 hour window to work with for Dres orbit insertion. Fun stuff!
  8. Living next to a very active Naval Airbase (Joint Base actually), I too am a bit of a 'plane spotter'... I get to see a whole array of assets, on a regular basis... tankers, transports, F-15/16/18's and numerous helicopters (gunships included). There's also a gunnery range nearby (associated with the base), and when they open up with the 105's and such, the whole house shakes lol. Also a weather spotter (SkyWarn). And yes, I also enjoy FIFA World Cup.
  9. You forgot gilotsavt shobas! or გილáƒÂცáƒÂვთ შáƒÂბáƒÂ! (Georgian).
  10. Crepes?!?!?? Sacrilege! Boy, I hope you're carrying a tank of O2. Decompression in 3... 2... 1...
  11. Built a new SCANsat probe. I've got Kerbin, Mun, Minmus, Eve, and Gilly mapped... with Duna and Ike in progress. Gilly was not easy.
  12. If you're running a Career mode, it's likely because you'll need to update your Tracking Station. Just a guess on my part, I'm playing a Science mode. *edit* Bad guess on my part, see above post.
  13. Interesting... and noisy. Reminds me of something I was once told about an incoming GBU-28... the only thing you might hear is the "ticking" of the fins as it maneuvers - before you're obliterated.
  14. Another good reason for french toast... Kellogg's waffles: "Enriched flour (wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, vitamin B1 [thiamin mononitrate], vitamin B2 [riboflavin], folic acid), water, vegetable oil (soybean, palm, and/or canola oil), eggs, leavening (baking soda, sodium aluminum phosphate, monocalcium phosphate), contains 2% or less of sugar, salt, whey, soy lecithin, yellow 5, yellow 6." My french toast: Homemade bread (flour, yeast, sugar, salt, water, butter), eggs, salt, butter, real maple syrup... can also add berries/fruit/cinnamon/etc.
  15. Make sure the mods you're trying to use are updated for use with v0.90.0 ... you'll find the status of each listed here - http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/55401-Community-Mods-and-Plugins-Library
  16. Learned just yesterday that a piece of debris (engine, fuel tank, docking port) without a probe core attached doesn't want to cooperate when re-docked to. The engines wouldn't fire, and the Clamp-O-Tron Sr didn't allow undocking (again) once docked. I should start a thread titled "Top 10 Reasons I'm Going Bald".
  17. Got my ship 'Voyager' assembled up in orbit and ready to go. Where? No idea. Maybe just a test run out and about... that way --> ...just to see how things go. Thanks go out to armagheddonsgw and Mesons for trying to help me resolve a docking problem with it... yes, the solution was probe cores.
  18. Expanded biomes, like on Kerbin itself; And docking cameras... with self-illuminated docking ports... with targets.
  19. LOL... the "KSP Waffle House"... Ferrets are naturally drawn to french toast... the eggs... and real maple syrup.
  20. I've built some pretty heavy lifters, on the order of 60 to 100 tons payload... small I'm sure in the eyes of some. I found it easier to launch empty and then send a few fuel 'tugs' up. Thanks, Mesons, I'm going to go take a look at that. I've got a save, so just for giggles I'll try both your and armagheddonsgw's suggestions. It will make for good practice/exercise. Changing status to Answered.
  21. 500 miles from the view line, and overcast.
  22. You people are crazy... even Steve Jobs knows French Toast is best lol http://scoopertino.com/thousands-flock-to-see-image-of-steve-jobs-on-french-toast/ Lets see you do that with a waffle.
  23. Umm... I still need engines to go anywhere though. lol I suppose I could send up another engine section, and the 2nd fuel section with it (empty tanks)... but I don't have an auxiliary docking port to dock to fill the tanks of the 2nd section. I'll have to mull this one over.
  24. I was trying to avoid having (what? 3?) probe cores on this manned vessel. It appears the issue is with the Clamp-O-Tron Sr. With Lazor installed, right-clicking on the inboard docking port brought up the menu with the 'undock' option... selecting it did not undock however. With Lazor removed, same issue. I notice in the persistent.sfs file, entries for a few of the docked sections have a 'debris' tag on them... and I notice that 'vesselType = 0' ... where on the other sections not tagged 'debris', 'vesselType = 6'. That's what I was asking about earlier, if that attribute had anything to do with it. If a probe core IS the answer... that sucks... because now I have 3 Kerbals to rescue and a ship to again Terminate and start all over. I would think my plan should have worked. The "Frustration Kraken" strikes again. Thanks all. Mod, I'm going to leave this as unanswered until a firm definitive answer is found.
