WARNING, DO NOT CHANGE KERBIN ORBIT WITH HYPER EDIT
LordFerret replied to GALACTIC_SUN101's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
You're right, no, I'm not. But it is considered RUDE to write in all caps for no reason, akin to yelling. PS - If I was your supervisor, I'd fire your cheeks... because you're ugly and your mother dresses you funny. -
Overheating in Cargo Bays
LordFerret replied to Xyphos's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
I've done a few seriously ballistic launches which have gotten the ship glowing, but no explosions. I don't have much experience with SSTOs; But - Are these explosions near the transition into space? Sounds like they are. How about radiator panels? What if you put 2 of the smaller ones on the sides of the cargo bays? It's just a thought. -
Overheating in Cargo Bays
LordFerret replied to Xyphos's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Do I take it you mean from reentry? Are you using a heat shield? I use cargo bays, loaded with science stuff and batteries, and I've not had any issues (yet). During reentry, you do want to stay lined up on that retrograde mark. -
Wow! That's pretty cool. Will she stand up to 30' seas? lol I'm genuinely impressed, quite sleek. Nice job! +2

Some weird stuff: Climbing the flagpole next to the launchpad and doing an EVA Report, I'm told I'm flying lol. Eh, the flag is flying... not me. Equally weird, falling from the top of that same flagpole and landing splat on its base - causes it to explode and burn. Attempting to jump up (Spacebar) on the base debris, launched me over to the Runway where I landed splat again - only this time Jeb went Poof! on landing.

Very good arguments for NOT using Steam. I dumped Steam years ago, never looked back.

I had him frown once, although it wasn't actually a frown, it was more 'thin-lipped' stare. It was during a launch heading west into a retrograde orbit. He was probably wondering 'What the hell is this guy doing?'. He was all smiles when we met up with the asteroid though.

The MK-12 R Radial-Mount Drogue Chute is a stock part, not part of a mod. If you've started your career over, it's likely the part has not been unlocked yet.

Today (last night) I finished my KSP v1.0.5 game, bringing all my Kerbals back home - leave no Kerbal behind! All ships have either returned home, or, if probes, have smashed the face of their orbited body and left their mark. The only thing left up was my KSS (Kerbin Space Station) in 300kM Kerbin orbit... I didn't have the heart to deorbit it.

[1.8.x] DMagic's Modlets - Most KSP 1.8 Updates [10-29-2019]
LordFerret replied to DMagic's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Wow, I like the Flexible Docking idea! It's too bad you can't take over Albert VDS's Hullcam project, which seems abandoned at this point, because the world needs docking cameras. -
A buggier version? I came in at v0.23.5 ... all but zero crashes during game play, even when I first began adding mods. Then move on to v0.90.0, still with all but zero crashes, and likewise for v1.0.5 ... the worst of problems were quirky things folks wished would be fixed. Hence my previous comment above.

Yes! This!

I play full screen, and there are (were) often times I Alt-Tab out (check the Wiki on something, use a launch window planner, or a calculator), but I find the game doesn't like it and usually crashes. The likely reason (my guess) is because the laptop I play on has auto mode switching between the integrated graphics and higher-end Nvidia graphics card also onboard. Lately, I've taken to keeping a little 10" netbook by my side while playing KSP so I won't have to Alt-Tab out.

Garry's mod has been around for over 15 years. It originally was a mod for Half-Life, and was used for some wild game play during my DoD years (Day of Defeat). Edit: The original DoD that is, pre-Source.

diomedea, you should be locking this thread, not contributing to it. @Maximus97 @sal_vager

KSP 1.1 onward micro freez High CPU usage SOLVED
LordFerret replied to dziki0022's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Every time I see your name, this comes to mind. This is just so totally Kerbal. -
One step forward, two steps back.

KSP 1.1 onward micro freez High CPU usage SOLVED

Another similar would be those cloud storage apps, like DropBox or GoogleDrive or my Asus's SyncFolder... constantly polling to make sure things are sync'd. -

You can turn Windows Update off. I have it set so that it only notifies me of updates, otherwise the damned thing downloads all manner of stuff in the background which interferes with a lot of (other) things I do. -
I find this kind of a confusing poll. When you say "visited", does that mean 'landed on'? I consider myself as having 'visited' every body (save all the asteroids) in the system, Kerbol included. There are planets in KSP I've visited, as in orbited and done SCANsat for science, and planets I've landed probes on but not returned from, and moons which I've landed on and returned from both unmanned and manned. How do I make poll selections based on that?

Now I wonder what would happen if you welded all those tanks together, making it 1 part.

No crashes in the VAB yet for me, although there is one quirky display behavior I find very annoying; Parts placement is hard when you can't see through to the part you're trying to attach to. If you get in too close, the part in the background vanishes. I don't know if it's a consistent distance, just something I found annoying last night while building. I can see the part - I can't see the part - That's just a small part for demonstration purposes. A larger part totally eclipses the part behind it and it becomes invisible ... can't see where I'm placing. Annoying. Bah... ok, first crash. Going back to the program after posting in here, the game crashed. Apparently it doesn't like being in the background.

lol Well there's not much meat on a ferret, about the same as dining on squirrel. Ferrets (aka "fitch") are used for gloves and coats and such (faux fur some call it). Just wait for the coming ferret uprising, they'll be demanding 'equal treatment' of cats and dogs.
