Looking good at the pad

I found this picture posted on unofficial SpaceX facebook group, originally posted by reddit user codercotton I have quoted the original description, but I the date is obviously a typo

LC-39A is being modified by SpaceX, not LC-29A. At least that is what NASA site says https://www.nasa.gov/image-feature/launch-pad-39a-modifications-for-spacex-launches

thanks for your time, but thing is I am working on a budget of around 420-430$ for PC + monitor. I looked at G4560 at the get go, but there are only i3, i5 and i7 CPUs from Kaby Lake lineup available here in Croatia. G4400 is the newest Pentium I could find, so I matched it with a board and RAM that is available, yet doesn't get mi over the budget. I have also recommended SSD drive to my friends father, but he has not given me his definitive answer on that one yet. GPU is not going to be installed in that PC any time soon as the integrated one is more then enough for what this PC will be used for. This is the pcpartpicker list https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kTD8zM Note that he plans to reuse his current HDD, but I plan to install the 230GB one I have in my spare parts which I took from my PC when I bought a 1TB drive for myself because I suspect his HDD is with that huge IDE cable, while my 230GB one is with SATA connection. I couldn't find the case I will build it in on pcpartpicker so here is a link to manufacturer's site http://www.lc-power.com/en/product/gehaeuse/micro-atx/2009mb/ And I couldn't even begin to explain how different prices for hardware are here in Croatia, mostly to do with huge taxes. For example while looking for parts for my new PC I looked into GTX 1060 for a GPU. Here is an example: GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming X 6GB from MSI is currently priced at 276,99$ on Amazon. Here in Croatia the cheapest one is (with exchage rates as they are today) 390$ and that is while it is on sale at the moment. Normal price for that same card is 436$

That is correct @Elthy I am not building this PC for gaming and it is not for me. As for components, I managed to find some newer hardware: CPU: Intel Pentium G4400 (instead of G3260) MBO: Asrock H110M-DGS (instead of Asus H81M-R) RAM: Kingston DDR4 4GB (instead of Kingston DDR3 4GB) PSU: Thermaltake Litepower 350W (instead of ANTEC VP400PC EC, 400W) Price went up by about 7-8€ which I think is pretty good considering better performance of G4400 over G3260

First thing I looked were Kabylake Pentium CPUs, but I haven't found any in stores here. Only i3, i5 and i7 CPUs from Kabylake line are available. I have suggested a 120GB SSD to them but they told me that they would think about that.

I need a second opinion guys. My friend recently asked me if I could build a new PC for her father to replace his 10-ish years old he is still using now for a budget of about 200€ (1500-1600kn here in Croatia). He is using his PC for web browsing, occasionaly watches videos on youtube, writes documents in MS Word and her younger sister plays some online games. I browsed online shops here in Croatia and the best I could find for that amount of money was this (prices rounded up to a higher value just because of ever changing rates): CPU: Intel Pentium G3260 3,3GHz - 67€ MBO: Asus H81M-R - 42€ RAM: 4GB DDR3 Kingston Valueram 1600MHz - 32€ PSU: Antec VP400PC EC 400W - 40€ Case: LC Power 2009MB - 22€ They opted to re-use HDD and optical drive from their current PC as they were bought new recently. Is there maybe a better CPU to consider that I may have overlooked? I never really look at those lover end components because I use my PC for gaming, so I found myself a bit lost here. Also about power supply, I am aware that 400W is way too much for system like this one, but I just couldn't find a good 300W PSU that is not way overpriced compared to this one.

That isn't F1 concept, it was Honda's aero kit in 2015 for IndyCar teams that were supplied by them It was simplified for later stages of 2015 due to those little winglets on front wing falling off evene when there was no contact with other car or the wall. In 2016 it was simplified even more http://img.theepochtimes.com/n3/eet-content/uploads/2016/03/15/7810-StPete16-Race-5Hinchcliffe.jpg

another video from SpaceX showing us some of previously unseen footage including close up of the central engine firing during landing burn

I have rebuilt my STS and Buran -like shuttles using new Shuttle Payload Technologies parts which are now going through lots of testing. I am having some problems with stability on ascent (STS) and re-entry (Buran) but I hope to iron those out. Here is a "beauty-shot" from one of re-entry tests

@Pak & @FlyMeToTheMinmus Thanks for your answers. I didn't know that airlock was placed further back for Mir missions.

@Pak Is there some mistake with where attachment node is on the airlock? When I choose extended version it extends into the cockpit instead of cargo bay

He explained it in his original post, but seems that he didn't quote the text he wrote above those two screens, so here it is:

I had 1st successful atmospheric flight of new shuttle built with new parts from latest Cormorant Aeronology pack. Just a short flight with takeoff assisted by hacking gravity and enabling infinite fuel and then gliding it back home without cheats.

I'll check if it does the same thing in my install if I play KSP today. I launched cargo capsule on Gigan rocket few times just a 3-4 days ago and that one worked well.

in my current save my program is called "Default" as I created it in sandbox to test mods and get in grips with some of those that I haven't used for long time before I start a new save in career

@kBob I bought new HDD because I needed more space and because that one is that old. At the present I use it as a temporary storage for when I need space on my main drive and can't back data up on removable storage at the moment. Thanks for the link, I'll read up on it when I catch some time

I got interested into space flight in late 90s (I was about 8 years old) when The Cape was shown on TV here in Croatia. In early 2000s I got hooked up to Star Trek because my father liked to watch it and the rest is, as they say, a history. I realized that it is not all just in fiction when Mir was de-orbited, while I realized how dangerous space flight really is when Columbia accident happened. As for the physics part, it started to interest me more when I was near the end with my high school and when I finally started to understand more complex things through physics classes.

@SelectHalfling0 I have 230GB (although it says 250 on the sticker) Western Digital which is now in its 8th year of every day usage (approximately 10-14 hours per day) and still works almost as good as new. I got this Seagate about a year ago because I needed more space and for now I didn't have problems with it. I had one 500GB WD few years ago which was about a year old when I went on the vacation for a week and when I came back home it didn't work anymore. PC was turned off for the whole week and as always when I am away disconnected from network and power outlets. @Elthy Thanks for your answer. I was leaning more towards i5 but I just wasn't sure which one is better suited for myself. When I am gaming I mostly play simulators, like KSP, FSX, Farming Simulator, ETS2, ATs, rFactor and when I can afford to renew subscription iRacing. As for cooler, I did plan to OC the CPU a bit, but nothing extreme really. AIO cooler was more because of looks than anything else and that is why I left it as a possibility for later. That is, if I have some spare cash. MBO is actually pretty easy for me: I had 2 computers until now and both were running with Asus boards and I had no problems at all with them. I can't remember which one was in my 1st PC, and I am still using P5B in my current machine. If you have good Asus board that you can recommend to me that is cheaper then those I have listed I will gladly listen Thanks for the PSU nod, I should look for something cheaper then.

Currently I am saving for a new PC so that my current one can finally get its deserved rest (or be given to my sister for her college work). I have pretty much decided on everything except CPU and motherboard so I wanted to ask you guys for your opinion so that I can decide a bit easier. So, those are my plans: CPU: Intel Core i5 6600K or Intel Core i7 6700K CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper T4 (and later I may upgrade to AIO liquid cooler) MBO: Asus Z170-E or Asus P8Z77-V LX or Asus Maximus VIII Formula RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-2133 SSD: Samsung 850 Evo-Series 250GB HDD: Seagate ST1000DM003 1TB (I already use this one together with a 250GB one) GPU: I'll probably go for recently presented AMD Radeon RX 480 when it is released later this year Case: Cooler Master MasterCase 5 Pro PSU: Corsair HX750i 750W 80+ Platinum

I (almost) nailed the landing. Just ran out of fuel about 80-100 meters above the ground and landed too fast for legs to hold the engines clear of the ground

does that mean that they are targeting lift off at around 2AM UTC+2 ?
