last night I completed rescue a Kerbal contract for the first time. I usually don't do those contracts because I just don't want to bother with them, but I need more Kerbals in my program and I can't spare any cash to hire them.

Yes, in the end it was down to drivers. Few days ago Windows 10 again removed drivers that I have installed and replaced them with different version which caused my system to randomly crash. I then removed those drivers and downloaded latest drivers from AMD site (version 16.1.1 hotfix) and that is when those temp problems started. It was idling today at 46-47°C. I have deleted those drivers and installed back previous version (15.2) and now temperature on idle is back at 30-32°C with occasional dip all the way down to 27°C I am happy with automatic updates for Windows 10 and Office as I have never had any problems with those. But please Microsoft, stop messing with our drivers. I have now tried yet another thing to stop automatic drivers update for my GPU: I have blocked its hardware ID in Local Group Policy Editor. If that does nothing than I don't know what else to do

thanks for answers. Voltage is the same as before, 0.9V on idle and 1.21V when under load. Fan bearings do not feel hot on touch and cooler seems to be on correctly. I have to buy new thermal paste and then I will change it and see if that helps. btw. only change that I had yesterday that was different from days before is that I have updated graphics drivers

I have some trouble with my graphics card (nothing serious though, just weird) so if someone might have a suggestion on what to try... My card is XFX AMD Radeon HD 7850 Core Edition 1GB. Today I have noticed that temperature on idle is higher then it was yesterday and for about 2 weeks back (that is when I did change my PSU and took time to clean all of the fans in my case including the one on my gfx card). previously on idle temperature was between 28-32°C depending on my room temperature, while today I can't get it under 44°C unless I set its fan speed on 50+%. While under the load I got it at max 62°C today with fan speed set on 70% (I had fan speed set on constant speeds for games, depending on how hard they use it because I hate it when it suddenly speeds up to 100% as it is quite noisy at anything above 80%). So basically, temps under load remained same as before (60-65°C) while those on idle have risen by as much as 16°C

[1.02] KW Rocketry v2.7 Available - 1.02 Compatibility! - 16/05/2015
Cuky replied to Kickasskyle's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I had similar problem when I deleted KW parts that I didn't need (like fuel tanks, fairings, SAS module...), though my problem was with both moded and stock decouplers. I deleted the whole KW rocketry folder, installed again the full mod without deleting any of the parts and now it works OK. My best guess is that those engine shrouds are sharing textures and/or models with some of those parts and when you remove them you don't have them anymore -
I haven't done much in last few days as I have ran into problems with my PC. I suspect that PSU decided that it had enough of it, but I haven't been able to confirm it yet nor to check if anything else failed with it.

@KerbonautInTraining @Albert VDS Thanks for tips, though I managed it myself after 9 or 10 edits of the post. Now reading your posts I finally have a clue as to what I did right on the last try

Please correct me if this is the wrong thread to post this... SpaceX did a hover test with Dragon V2

Today I had Jeb stuck in 9000km x 6,500km Kerbin orbit after he ran out of fuel on his return from Minmus orbit. He went out and pushed for a bit to lower Pe down to 5,400km but it was not easy. As he had enough supplies to keep him alive for about 15 days Val decided to take one of 2-man crafts and rescue Jeb. I spent more than 1,5 hours tryng to make this rendezvous and bring them both safely home which I managed. Then, Jeb went to the Mun for the first time in long long long time, so he decided to take a selfie

@tygoo7 Thanks for answer, good to know

Thanks for new version, this was one of the latest mods I was waiting for in 1.0.5 As for next version, I gave my vote to revamp of existing parts, though I agree that probably finishing Rosetta and New Horizuns first would be a better option. As for instruments, making them separate parts from the probe would be good since we could then use them on other probes too. EDIT: Is there some config file that would make cargo Dragon work with TAC LS?

Last night I have launched a target vehicle for docking contract. After that I did some science digging around KSC because I didn't have RCS thrusters unlocked to put them on the craft that will come and dock with this craft
-
thanks, I have increased maxTem on the launch clamps and now they do not explode. Problem now is that engine above them instantly starts to overheat and explodes after 1-2 seconds. I'll play with settings and see if something can be done for that
-
@frizzank Is there something I could edit in config files for 1.25m and 2.5m Redstone Clamps to prevent them exploding the moment I ignite the engines. I used to have those clamps before and I could hold the rocket down with them for a few moments before letting it go, but now they just explode when engine is ignited

Through last two days I did my personal R&D trying to find best settings for my graphics card. Most of the time was spent testing different settings in Radeon Software until I have finally found those that keep my card's temperature inside my comfortable zone without hindering performance ingame

Today I have started new career save in 1.0.5 on a bit modified Hard setting (I have enabled revert and quicksave). After some usual science grinding at the very start I have finally launched small constelation of 3 Remote Tech satellites for the first time since .24.2. All 3 were just like the one on the picture below, with one of them carrying materials bay and mystery goo since I got a contract to place a satellite in syncronous orbit with those onboard
-
those decouplers will find great use on my rockets. No more bumping of spent stages to those above them just because I forgot to put on a separatron or two.
-
I have finally started my new career in 1.0.5 now that I have most of the mods that I wanted to have. Nothing special has been done yet, only the usual science grind around the KSC. One thing that gives me a bit of a problem is Remote Tech. Probe descriptions say that they have built in omni-directional antenna with 2-3km range, but whenever I want to launch an unmanned craft it says that there is no connection.

@TriggerAu Thanks, managed to find it following your instructions -
[1.12.x] KSP Alternate Resource Panel v2.11.0.0 (April 10)
Cuky replied to TriggerAu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
It works in 1.0.5 just fine, but I am unable to find the option to disable stock resource panel. I know it has to be somewhere, I used it in previous versions of KSP, but I am just unable to find it. -
both probes looking good so far
-
are Launch Vehicles compatible with 1.0.5 or is there updated coming up for them?

You Will Not Go To Space Today - Post your fails here!
Cuky replied to Mastodon's topic in KSP1 Discussion
My first try with STS type wehicle didn't go as planned. Full stack was a tad too heavy so it fell straight to the ground with ET exploding and SRBs going on their own to the space. At least orbiter and Kerbals in it were intact
