Hm, i'm currently working on some 2.5m parts as a test (for filling the gap between Rockomax and Kerbodyne), but it's worth putting on the list; What were it's original stats? Does anyone know?

Every. Gram. Counts. Seriously. This is the most important thing I've learnt, and it's also applicable to real-life rocket design. You can't avoid the tyranny of the rocket equation (yes, that's a real thing), but you can optimize it and make it's impact as little as possible. Simply put, for every kilogram of payload mass, you need 3 kilograms of propellant. And for those propellant masses you need MORE propellant on a lower stage. Ad infinitum, or at least for however many stages your rocket has. Need only 2 parachutes? Throw the third one off! Don't need giant solar panels? Throw the Gigantors off and put on some smaller ones. The savings at first may seem insignificant, but it adds up.

Why are former moderators allowed to keep their large avatars?
Norpo replied to Robotengineer's topic in Kerbal Network
PROTIP: Get adblocker if you don't already have it (there's probably a version for pretty much every single browser nowadays), right click the offending avatar, and block it. -
So, basically a giant engine? Or is there more to it? If it's just a giant engine i'm sure I could whip something up... Might not be the prettiest thing, though.

Tried to give myself a challenge. In specifics, gave myself a challenge to haul the biggest, full, Kerbodyne tank, and not use any fuel with it into Low Kerbin Orbit. Oh, and do it without any Rockomax or Kerbodyne parts for the lifter. (And no jets, so basically just the 1.25 radial size parts) Took like 3 hours (most of that was waiting because 400 parts brings my laptop to it's knees), but I finally did it! \o/

[PLEASE ANSWER] Is there aliens in Ksp Or A Mod that adds them?
Norpo replied to LucaBunny77's topic in KSP1 Discussion
As far as I know, there's no mod that adds "aliens", though some clarification would be nice. Do you want things walking around on other planets? Just structures built on them? Ships that randomly visit? As far as I know there's no mod that does any of these, then again i'm not exactly an expert. -
4/10 Generic (and I think it's a default one) but at least it's not a terrible custom one.

A plane on a runway? Snow white smear on the blackest cloth: The smear would be a plane, the cloth the black tarmac perhaps? Crawling along at the speed of a sloth (If you look reallllly high up then it's tiny)

I imagine to make this feasable, you'd need to make the lines not as thin, such as making them thick (You'd probably have to fudge things a bit for user-friendliness, if you could see the bullets you wouldn't want them taking up half the screen) But I imagine a way to do it would be able to make it so you could only move on the X and Y axis, and Z axis could only be used for SIZE of objects, not actually them moving. That way you can have control over how things appear and how "thick" they would appear, but it's up to you on how you use that.

Why is "Forum" censored in the Custom Title?
Norpo replied to TheCanadianVendingMachine's topic in Kerbal Network
Tested, "Kerbal Forum Browncoat" doesn't get censored. -
Why is "Forum" censored in the Custom Title?
Norpo replied to TheCanadianVendingMachine's topic in Kerbal Network
Only in the custom title thing, like how yours says "Mothership Pilot" and mine says "Kerbal Browncoat" -
Pretty much: Hilarious post Helpful post Post with a good idea Mods that I couldn't live without Posts with a really cool craft I'm not exactly stingy with my rep.

Would orbital mechanics work at human scales?
Norpo replied to Draconiator's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Can confirm, used Universe Sandbox. A 2 gram die orbiting a 3 kg bowling ball with a semi-major axis of 1 meter, in a roughly circular orbit has an orbital period of 5.15 days. Close enough it could be rounded to 5 days, and certainly nowhere close to 1030 years. EDIT: To get an orbital period of 1030 earth years, the die/marble would need a semi-major axis of 1.75 kilometers. That's 1750x more. -
It's okay Starwhip, just look at this picture of a cute, nice, fuzzy dog. What, you were expecting a spider?

7/10 It's a ratio for something... But what? *googles* Oh, its a monolith. 10/10 for mini-puzzle and 2001

People: "What is this? It's storing giant pictures! With brilliant resolution! Thousands of them! And what is this you're doing, a high-tech rocket simulation?" You: "Uh, this is Kerbal Space Program. It's a game."

I tend to do one major mission at a time (see signature), and I like piloting AND careful engineering, but my favourite part might be mission planning. I enjoy mods, but nothing that makes it TOO hard, I like to move at a fast pace. (Besides, Moho is enough of a problem, especially with those heavy MKS/OKS modules, geez) I plan on trying 6.4x scale Kerbol with casual-realism mods (Like TAC and FAR) once i'm done with Scorched Kerbin (whenever that is), just to try it out. Also, sandbox instead of career until career is reasonably finished and less grindy.

8/10 Kerbal avatar which reminds me of Chris Hadfield for some reason. Probably the mustache.

A river/other geological feature?

[11/26/15 Update] Say Hello to the Light-Green Group!
Norpo replied to Endersmens's topic in Kerbal Network
Oh what I would give for that... Here, there's been two big storms, snow knee deep EVERYWHERE. And it's snowing again tonight. Then raining tommorow. And then "really cold" the day after that. Well, plenty of time to play KSP I guess, assuming the power doesn't go out. Right now everyone's calling it "The calm after-before the storm".. And for good reason, going outside without snowshoes right now would be... dubious, on the "smart idea" scale. -
Why is "Forum" censored in the Custom Title?
Norpo replied to TheCanadianVendingMachine's topic in Kerbal Network
vbulletin, admin, and moderator I can get, but forum/leader don't seem like they could be used in any forum-leadership specific way (Except maybe together..) But really, who could take "Leader of the Forums" seriously without a green/deep blue/red name? Perhaps an alternative could be "Grumpy forüm dweller?" (Note the umlaut.) -
Recruit specific class
Norpo replied to Sirrobert's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I think if you just dismiss all the applicants, and then go back into the astronaut complex, there should be a fresh batch of recruits (And hopefully one will be a pilot) -

Dead. Why are winged bird things in air? -
I think that's because they look really cool, or they might think they need them because the ISS has HUGE solar panels, but that's different. But yeah, efficiency-wise, you're right. I normally just put 1 or 2 auto-tracker solar panels on my ships, maybe an RTG if I have to plan for it being out of sunlight for a long period of time. Anyways, something I've found is that to make your refueling stations effective, you have to plan your ships accordingly. It doesn't matter if your refueling stations have a Jumbo-64, if you build huge ships one refuel will make it space debris. Therefore, when refueling, plan your missions accordingly, make your ships as fuel-efficient as possible. The smaller your ships, the more uses you can get out of a refueling station. Refueling encourages this anyways, when you refuel, naturally you need to take less fuel with you to begin with.

Nope. Xannari?
