Do you feel KSP is ready for 1.0?
Norpo replied to hoojiwana's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Nope, the post said that there will be more free updates. "What does 1.0 mean for everyone then? Most noticeably, it means KSP will be leaving the Early Access program. And while this does mean we are ready to call KSP a complete game after the next release, itdoes not mean development itself is complete. Far from it, in fact. We see no better way to follow up on reaching our initial goals than to continue development on Kerbal Space Program, beyond Beta, past our original plans. This means that after 1.0 is out, we will continue on with free updates 1.1, 1.2, and so on." -
Welcome to the forums, Green Iron Crown. I hope you have a good time, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask in the Gameplay Questions sub-forum!

Have to agree that it's not ready for full release, but they've already announced it, no turning back now. -
[11/26/15 Update] Say Hello to the Light-Green Group!
Norpo replied to Endersmens's topic in Kerbal Network
Female Kerbals will be in the stock game, and that's the page for the default one (Will it be the original four now?) -
Hey, at least it's not Vogon poetry. That stuff is the worst. You got it easy!

Female Kerbals
Norpo replied to TheCanadianVendingMachine's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
See, I just thought of something to think about, maybe this isn't the last we'll see of this feature. It was hyped for a reason. I bet it won't stop at female kerbals and there being now *two* kinds of main kerbals, I bet it's laying the groundwork for kerbals with more features, like... More suit colours! Maybe subtle variations of skin colour! (so not totally different, still green, but light/dark green) Hairstyles that aren't male pattern baldness! Perhaps facial hair for males? (Could be straying too much from the "simple" look, so I would think not) No two kerbals would look the same. (frequently) Something similar to what Texture Replacer is now for kerbals, basically. -
Female Kerbals
Norpo replied to TheCanadianVendingMachine's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I'm gonna take a guess here. This is probably what happened at SQUAD HQ. -programmers "Okay, we're making aerodynamics, in-situ resources..." -art team "What about us? Those don't require art assets, do they?" -HarvestR: "Okay, work on female kerbals, it's been in the "upcoming features list" for a while, and this seems like a good chance and I can't think of anything else." tl;dr programmers were busy art team wasn't, clouds etc. might take more on the programming end -
The way I see it, Kerbals are the manifestation of a quick drawing of a human. They vaguely resemble humans, but of course they're not perfect. Just think of them like a really detailed stick figure. In other words... That's me. That's you. That's (mostly) everyone who has been, is currently, and will be in existence.

Dang, I was (not so) secretly hoping for a new planet, but oh well. I guess it was in the plans; it had to be done sometime.

Great, all we need now is a selfie stick and we can kill Green Iron Crown with twitter jokes. Personally, I prefer rep, it's always served me well as a weapon.

Parachutes are the first delta-V budget cut. Every. Single. Time. I have a plan though, i'll use radial parachutes, and use KAS to ditch them once in LKO. That way, if something fails while i'm still getting into orbit around Kerbin, I still have the parachutes, but once i'm at my destination, the smaller stage doesn't have half a ton of extra weight.

Armory mod + custom KAS config. You're welcome.

Project "Vwfwkjwnfakjfnwak", random failures. Maxmaps mashed random keys and picked the first one. Clearly. (jk)

Asteroid A Redirection, No Class A in space?
Norpo replied to callimero's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Just terminate asteroid unknown objects until you get an A class, and wait. It won't work with a different class of asteroid. -
Can I sell asteroids at my KSC yard sale?
Norpo replied to Janos1986's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I don't think it would (unless it's a contract like vexx said), unless there's something specific about the asteroid module. I'm imagining it just uses the default recovery system. -
Can I sell asteroids at my KSC yard sale?
Norpo replied to Janos1986's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
According to the part.cfg, asteroids are worth, drumroll please... ...0 Funds. Zero. None. Zilch. Nada. EDIT: On a sidenote, their temperture tolerance is "1e38", (a lot), so if you want something REALLY close to the sun... -
Does it count if I set a boosters max temp to 0 just to see what would happen? (it exploded, and the nozzle was orange in the VAB)

I can imagine a Dwarf Fortress style relationship sytem for KSP.. "Jebediah Kerman felt pleased when he was given the chance to pilot Orbiter 2A. Bob Kerman felt hatred when Bill Kerman stole his snacks. Bob Kerman felt annoyed when he had to sleep on the ground again." Jebediah Kerman relationships: HarvestR: Deity Bill Kerman: Friend Bob Kerman: Grudge Haven't played dwarf fortress in a while so I probably got it all wrong

Now that I think about it, it might actually be the right way, I don't normally use jr. docking ports, but for the other docking ports an easy way to tell if it's the correct way is if it has a small red hatch. However this doesn't work for jr docking ports, so look at this picture for reference: The top side is the correct side. Make sure both are facing that way. Generally using jr docking parts isn't used much, since docking ports are light, and jr docking ports are weak. EDIT: Something I normally do while docking is if the magnetic forces pull me in too fast, I use RCS to push me backwards so I don't go in too fast.
-
The only question remaining: Is this more, or less annoying than the current "do do do dee da do dee do da" music in the VAB/SPH? I vote for less, but that's probably because I haven't listened to it for an hour straight while designing a complex craft...
-
The docking port on the right looks like it was attached wrong. That was probably the source of the problem Also, if you undock, it shouldn't throw you back TOO far, if at all. In fact, to redock, you even have to move backwards and back in.

Banned for being ninja'd and not editing your post.

In ye olde times, when Moho was first introduced, it was redder, and getting too close to it overheated your rocket. As I remember, it made landing nigh impossible.
