  1. Made a "stayputnik mk 3" probe core as a mod concept, the solution for "I want a probe core that looks like the stayputnik but can actually be used with SAS" Obviously not done, but i'm getting there.
  2. Yes, as an amateur programmer, this just seems like quick programming. It's possible there was a huge issue and they needed a fast, easy, workaround, but in the long run wouldn't it be best just to determine it using the name only ORIGINALLY, and then store that result elsewhere, so it's not needed again? That even seems easier. Of course, I could be completely wrong and it's a weird inbuilt system of the Node functionality that (i think) they made, but I can't think of any other reason it'd HAVE to be this way. *Norpo hides all the assert functions he used to end threads in Python*
  3. Welcome, and great mission! Only thing I might of done differently would of been aerobraking to get into a Duna orbit from solar orbit, essentially for free, but that requires a lot of accuracy, and hey, it worked anyways!
  4. I try not to crash, but it still happens.
  5. Holy crap.. Why have I not downloaded this thing yet!? *looks at laptop* Oh, yeah, it'd probably melt it. And with my internet it'd take a few hours to download.
  6. The reduction isn't permanent, no. You can still get 100% recovery later. e.g if you have an experiment, and you only get 75% recovery from transmitting it, the remaining 25% is still there, though you'll probably have to physically recover data to get it.
  7. I haven't done any of the really pro stuff (like Eve land and return), but I have done some great things, like (Entered the SOI of every planet and moon) (Did a major mission to Jool, kinda went the way of apollo 13 though, considering I trashed my only lander on Bop...) (Captured a large asteroid) ...I'm currently working on a huge project though, making a self-sustainable base with a lot of mods on Moho, turns out it's really hard, I found water... in ONE spot. And that spot happens to have no Karbonite. Well, I suppose I can turn the water into fuel using the MKS/OKS Extraplanetary Launchpads fuel refinery... I'll wait and see if there's another spot with water using ScanSAT, though.
  8. Yeah, something similar happened on my Moho probe mission, the solar panels were the single, non-tracking variety, so as I was going to burn the Moho Inclination Change burn, I wasn't facing the sun, and the probe had no power. As I recall, though, it wasn't a total loss, it did a fly-by of Eve, and it was my first (and as of right now, only) Dres flyby mission. The Flying Lemur, the best piece of low-tech junk I could ever have.
  9. This is the most clever thing I've heard in a LONG time. Every time I see double posters, mainly when it's a "You know there's an edit button right?" moment, I get twitchy. Why isn't this the de facto standard for all forum software!? O_o
  10. The wiki being down is known; sadly it can't be fixed till Monday, according to KasperVld. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/108427-Problem-accessing-WIKI-wiki-kerbalspaceprogram-com
  11. I second Needles_10's comment. :D

  12. Banned because that was a quote by someone else, not specifically describing worir4's RAM (or lackthereof)
  13. 8/10, great logo (unlike mine) with link to great crafts.
  14. Best way to do an interplanetary mission is just to send a cheap, small probe out there, the delta-v costs aren't that much higher in the cases of Duna and Eve, just more complicated maneuvers. That way, you're not risking any crew, and it can just feel like a quick mission.
  15. Made an OKS station core for Moho, was too lazy to send it up in parts. So I made a BadS quick 17 ton lifter to Moho for it. (apologies for nighttime, but I didn't take these for glamour shots, and didn't want to wait for day cause transfer is only 8 days away) Now, to get it there without being killed by FPS (100+ parts turns clock yellow for me), or wobble.
  16. I think the best way to "donate" to the devs would be to buy new copies of the game and give them to friends, they get money and more people in the playerbase, your friends get the copies of the game, win/win
  17. Oh yes please. Reentry heat is only logical, if you come barreling down a thick atmosphere at 2000 m/s without proper protection, SOMETHING'S going to happen that isn't ideal for kerbal survival. Just my thoughts, but I think it'd add a lot to planning out missions. The hard part would be the balance, though... At what point does your ship blow up?
  18. I survived the green iron crown. I SURVIVED. Woo! Now we can use our rep for giving it to modders and stuff! \o/
  19. #IStillSayHashtagJokesAreWeird #meta #continuation #joke #lol #food
  20. Wait and see what the green crowns next move will be.
  21. Thanks for delivering the killing blow, red, you've earned it. Now, green iron crown has applied to the kerbal space program, and will become a valued member of the community! ...Right? He won't explode or anything?
  22. 'Tis just a waiting game. In the meanwhile, why not listen to some good music? Relax. Unwind. And then when that 24 hour limit is gone, STRIKE! HE'S GREEN NOW EDIT YAY
  23. Just one more... JUST ONE MORE... SOMEONE HIT THAT BUTTON AND END THIS MADNESS
  24. And to the charge we shall go one last time, this is the last stand, the final show! Update adobe flash player to the latest update to see THIS content, GIC.
