  1. That is a truly unfortunate number of files to rename. Thanks for the info though.
  2. The deploy animation works great, although there doesn't seem to be a retract. I assume the force being displayed is the actual "thrust" being applied to the craft, but I am not seeing a change in the actual vector so far. I also did not let it run for any length of time. Definitely steps in the right direction though.
  3. With this module is the thrust delivered along the axis of a transform or just away from the sun? I am also assuming that the area is in meters squared? 1444 square meters currently
  4. That would be great! I have no coding skill at all, so I could certainly use your help. The only other thing I could think of was to make a regular engine powered by whatever the sail collects and just set the flameoutThreshold very low.
  5. Someone write an add-on for me to use!! Please?
  6. Download the updated version I just posted on Spaceport, you shouldn't have to do anything to it then.
  7. I have updated the .cfg on spaceport. The generator now actually generates and is set to always on to avoid unnecessary extra steps.
  8. There is a generator on the engine that must be activated.
  9. Exactly. They fold out and provide thrust via differing resistance to types of omnipresent cosmic radiation. Really they are horribly cheaty, but kinda fun. They are, however; at least theoretically sound.
  10. The differential sail was another speculative proposal, which appealed to the zero-point energy field. As the Heisenberg uncertainty principle implies that there is no such thing as an exact amount of energy in an exact location, vacuum fluctuations are known to lead to discernible effects such as the Casimir effect. The differential sail was a speculation that it might be possible to induce differences in the pressure of vacuum fluctuations on either side of sail-like structureâ€â€with the pressure being somehow reduced on the forward surface of the sail, but pushing as normal on the aft surfaceâ€â€and thus propel a vehicle forward. [1] They can be a bit odd to place at times, and need tons of power (hence the earlier fission reactor). try 'em out and let me know what you think. MediaFire Link
  11. Nevermind, I just noticed the .cfg is missing from that download for some reason. NEW LINK HERE I also corrected a decimal error that was resulting in a 1 year lifespan instead of 10 All links are updated to the current version.
  12. I originally put it under Utility and moved it to Electrical after the fact. Try moving the folder infor Utility and see if that helps. I am going to run a clean install and check here as well.
  13. It is really just some cfg edits, I can probably swing that in the next couple days
  14. I have a few things a have made for personal use that I am considering releasing. This came about because I made a Induction Sail to play around with and arbitrarily decided it used a bunch of power. It is actuall considerably underpowered for it's size if you determine 1 electricCharge to be = 1 watt. It is currently 2 meters, but edit away on it. Here is a MediaFire Link. Download is fixed now!
  15. Anyone interesting in a 4 ton, 100 KW mini fission reactor with a 10 year fuel supply? Let me know and I'll get it up on spaceport. MediaFire Link
  16. Here is a modular Mun base I have been piecing together for a bit.
  17. So I just spent an hour or so making a mobile crane to move Mun Hab parts about only to discover that the clamp-o-trons that I am using as a connection points bewtwen the crane and hab modules will not actually dock for some reason. They are the same size. I futzed with orientations for a looong time. Any suggestions?
  18. Here is the Traveler Mk. 4 with a docked Turtle SSTO prepping for a Duna trip in orbit above Kerbin And de-orbiting the Traveler Mk. 2
  19. Anyone find a way to make vertically mounted engines on a space plane used for VTOL gimbal correctly? Currently the pitch fine but they do no roll properly, they rotate around the vertical axis.
  20. The way the engines work they have to have some sort of propellant, and how much propellant it uses is dependent on the propellant mass and the engines Isp.
  21. perhaps I just need to give it thrust in atmosphere again, just to see if that eliminates the bug. There isn't really a reason to have 0 thrust in atmosphere, more cosmetic for the whole extremely radioactive exhaust thing
