1. This is my favorite low-g rover, the insane torque is a lifesaver
2. Curious, why not use a KR-2L or the aerospikes in space instead of the heavily inefficient Mammoth? Edit: I'm such a dufus, sorry for the [minor] necro
3. Hey guys! I did it! I circumnavigated Minmus! Yay! Here's my submission thread: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/127794-elcano-challenge-a-waterlubber-circumnavigates-minimus/
4. Welp, I "finished!" Here's the imgur album! I spent an hour on the descriptions, so that's that. I had to reload a couple of times, but I tried to organize the screenshots to the best of my ability. You can download the Persistent Trails track here. Edit: Wow! This marks my 700th post! Neat-o! screenshot
5. Annotated over a hundred images for my Elcano entry. Fun.
6. Why not replace the Moon with a trojan moon? It may be fairly easy to access if the orbits are right.
7. Shh, I honestly am, uploading these is quite a pain What? No! This is totally live!
8. A second post! I'm not exactly sure how to approach this, so I'm going to make 3 separate posts. You're free to talk inbetween, though. Presenting, the Rover Delivery System: Here's the launch, in a nice imgur album just for you!
9. Hey, guys, I've circumnavigated Minmus! It was pretty boring, and in reality, not as difficult as I suspected. I did use MechJeb's rover autopilot. Most of the stuff I didn't need, but stability control was a godsend. It automatically synchronised the rover's orientation with the surface of Minmus, which, when combined with the huge amount of reaction torque I had, led to a much more stable driving experience. I recorded the entire thing with PersistentTrails, but there are a couple of spots where it glitched and stopped recording. The biggest one is across a small valley and is about 5 km, sorry about that. Here's the link for the .trk file. My main forum thread is here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/127794-elcano-challenge-a-waterlubber-circumnavigates-minimus/ Cheers! Do note that the entire progress won't be there until a few days when I have time to aggregate, commentate and post screenshots
10. Looks like I'll be doing to Elcano challenge! Don't know why, really, but hey, I've got free time! For this mission, we'll be using the Minmus Exploration Rover Mark I: Warning: Hi-Res blueprints! It's mostly stock, with some Tweakscale and other mods to save on part count. It's only got 61 parts, which allowed me to warp at a decent rate with less slowdown. It features a roll cage and hefty torque, to keep it in line with the surface. There are 4 solar panels on top, the big ones from Asteroid Day. It features a blinkly light, because it's safer! The plan is to land a little east of the flats, head east for a while, and arrive at the start again. I didn't plan out much of a route; other than aiming for flats and the plateaus. The next post here will be launch and landing of the rover!
11. You heard the challenge. Circumnavigate Kerbin in less than an hour! It can be done, and quite easily, too. I crashed into the mountains besides KSC after 59 minutes of flying, and my craft wasn't the most efficient, either. Here are the rules: Mods are allowed. Crafts that have mods with [modded] engines, overpowered low-drag parts, etc. will be in a separate category. Mods such as QuizTech aero, KAX, Procedural Parts/Wings, stock fuel switch, and other simple mods will be grouped with stock, albeit with a note. No passing the karman line, or 25 km. Your apotheosis must never be in space. The best proof of your circumnavigation is a video. PersistantTrails is good too, but lots of screenshots will be accepted! Rules are enforced by spirit. You may bend them, as long as you remain within the scope of the challenge! Leaderboards: Modded: Fastest Time: Lowest Fuel Consumption: Stockalike: Fastest Time: Lowest Fuel Consumption: Have fun!
12. Well, here I am, I've made another craft! You guys remember the Kegway, right? (check my sig if you haven't already!) The Kegway 2 is also pretty recent...but now, we have the technology...to make... A FLYING TEACUP KERBAL! The idea was born in a TeflonMike stream yesterday, and it developed into this: Here's a video: https://youtu.be/ZTx13R8-saQ You can download the craft here
13. Is this mod still being maintained? I haven't seen a dev post in ages. Either way, now my flight computer won't work. I am using the patch that allows you to transmit science from before. though. Edit: Nope, it works. The button is just invisible.
14. Sure, let's go back to vBulletin! Let the forums get hacked, with your password and credit card info! (assuming the KSP main website is hosted w./ the forums) Instead of forcing Squad to revert to a broken piece of software in an incredibly rude way, make suggestions. I would love to see a dark theme for nighttime reading. That's all, really.
15. Well, btw, it can't be hard to mispell three letters, right? Nha.
16. There's a fix earlier in the thread, guys. I looked at the error and was about to check the source for any changes (it looks like something was poorly patched) but found this post:
17. This. I would love to see, at best, individual blass blades. But seeing the same repetitive tiled "green construction paper" of a ground irks me
18. Unpopular Opinion Kerbal here. I like the new forums! Please don't hurt me I honestly like how font size is in pt, not 1-7 sizes. That makes sense. The interface on mobile is greatly, greatly improved and I also enjoy the main forum. I have some minor caveats: The software does not allow unicodes. I tried posting my rocket unicode (previously seen in my sig, you guys might remember it); but it does not work Rep points are one at a time No dark theme. I need my dark theme Thanks anyway, I'd call it an improvement.
19. Parachute landings and SRBs to take off again? Sepratrons to tilt it up? Fun fact about buoyancy, gravity doesn't matter. There are special tanks for high-g situations where the buoyancy will apply pressure to your feet to stop you from blacking out.
20. TL;DR Direct Link Every pilot wants a few things in a plane.

Manoeuvrable
Hard to stall
Fuel economy
Speed
Cost
Features!
Aesthetics
Unfortunately, at best, you can only have a few of these things. It's unheard of to have all of them. Well, until now! Presenting: The Kestrel a HCI Production The Kestrel is an all-around great craft for a burgeoning space program. Available at the low, low price of 12,670 SpaceBucks, this plane won't put a dent in your budget, and Mortimer will be kept happy. Due to the rather low tech requirements, and excellent altitude range presented by the J-404 engine, this craft is well-suited to fulfilling contracts. It can hop over to the desert in less than 20 minutes (5 minutes in real life), and won't stall or bug out when warping. Fuel isn't much of an issue, either: You can achieve high speeds of 600 m/s without using the afterburner, for up to two hours! The craft is 100% stock. Here's some information: Action Groups:

Toggle J-404 Engine
Toggle afterburner
Engage front canard flaps
Engage rear elevator flaps
B.
Flatten out to 10 degrees pitch.
While climbing to 10,000m, accelerate to approximately 500m/s.
Continue accelerating until you reach 550m/s, then disengage afterburner. 21. As for the rocket builders, I've seen non-roleplay things. Would something like a thread for a group where one can submit crafts and others can reply still work? Obviously without leaders and such, but still broken down so it isn't one megathread.
22. Status Quo and Narratum means the accepted thing before the story. AM, ante meridium. Source: inquo Latine (sed male)
