  1. Wow, thank you for sharing. I had no idea that so many organizations had to be involved. It sounds like they strangled your project to death with laws. Better do it in some other country next time.
  2. Actually, I just have a few kethane miners which cannot get off of various planets and moons. I'd love to get them into orbit to refuel my other ships.
  3. So of off topic, but if multiple kerbals can ragdoll at once, you could stack them in a sort of gravity fed kerbal clip and make a fully-automatic kerbal mass driver that would shoot them off of the surface of say, minimus, using rocket exaust.
  4. Explosions can apply forces at short range in KSP Build a rocket which propels itself entirely by controlled nearby explosions.
  5. Post any way you can think of to rescue all or part of a stranded lander. This is about rescuing the ship. We already know how to rescue the kerbals. The lander might be broken, tipped over, or low on fuel. please note what kind of scenarios your idea is applicable to, and what planets it might work on. I'll start with a few ideas 1. Balance the lander on top of a more powerful rocket, and dock it. then fire the whole thing into orbit. 2. catapult off of a kerbal who has wedged his helmet under the rocket to harness mystical 1/d forces. 3. clip into the terrain, and try and get it to fire you upwards in a similar fashion. 4. propel yourself along the ground and when you explode, hope that your pod survives and is travelling at escape velocity. 5. drive an upside-down rocket under the lander and fire it upward with the exhaust. <- I get to use this because I can spell tongue
  6. That's all I've got right now. There's a pod in the crane, and the rover. They were launched seperately, and the rover was driven under the crane and docked on the launchpad. To do it all in one flight, you would need to use a mechjeb on either the ship or the rover, but beware, it cannot rotate evenly like a pod. EDIT Ok something like this This is a real example of a ship with a rover that docks on the bottom where the wheels just meet the ground. Note the erkle clamps on the top and bottom. If I did this again I would have made the rover have the pod and the ship have the mechjeb. either way rotation is a problem though.
  7. Tried it on the mun. the conversion rate is too slow and it's too hard to stay within range of the supplier when both you and it are moving under power. Besides, if the supplier has enough power to accelerate at the same rate as you, why not just stay connected to it? Racing past many parachuting crafts would be hard to set up and would require you to switch to them rapidly and turn on pumping.
  8. You know, I don't know the first thing about "social studies" even though they teach it in elementary school. So If I became a science teacher in a school, I would probably say dumb things about other races, and politics, and relationships. It just helps to turn the tables and imagine yourself in a similar situation. Of course, if you were hinting that traditional education is unimpressive, I totally agree, but I doubt it ever was. It's just that we have superior ways to research topics and educate ourselves now and when someone tries to teach, it looks funny that they are not as smart as a smartphone.
  9. There are plenty of ad-free no-limits way to host a file besides mediafire. which is blocked in most places. (In America, I've only ever had one ISP that didn't block it) Google drive is alright, Dropbox is great, and Github if you're already familiar with it (but keep in mind it's not a file sharing service exactly, just capable of it.) Of course the best options is to put it on your own webserver. You could put it on mine too if you just ask me. For KSP mods, we have kerbal.net, which is great and I would expect this ends up there.
  10. Those seem to refer to the identities of the pilots. My ship says crew = 12 crew = 14 But I confirmed that they remember their seats when a save is reloaded. It must be in there somewhere.
  11. <iframe class="imgur-album" width="100%" height="550" frameborder="0" src="http://imgur.com/a/JXBal/embed"></iframe> Yet another failed attempt
  12. In the three man launcher, when you IVA a kerbal, the seat that becomes empty depends on the man you choose. When you get back in, the seats are filled from left to right. Is there any way to control which seat a kerbal gets in when you only have 2 kerbals and a three man launcher? I'm just hoping there is some secret key to cycle the seat positions, but probably not. I'd be OK with a save edit.
  13. KSP is currently in awesome stage, where there are no rules, hundreds of cool mods, no objective, no enemies, no money, and plenty of bugs.
  14. pheonix do you mind if I make a web resource out of this so that you could just use a url like "http://nathannifong.com/test/planetsig.php?visited=kerbin,mun,duna" or something like that? I think your artwork is great, but the usability is bad. and with a little programming it could be as easy a writing a list of the planets you've been to.
  15. I see that the stock 1m fuel tanks can attache to radial decouplers but the rcs tanks cannot. Would someone please point out to me which attribute in the config file makes this possible?
  16. My ISP blocks mediafire. Why not use imgur so I don't have to tunnel?
  17. I know the aerospike has superior performance, but I think it's ugly, and you can't attach anything to the bottom, and it has a set-back fiery effect instead of a close-in blue jet. So I never use it. I'd rather sacrifice efficiency for coolness.
  18. Kosmos absolutely has the coolest solar panels in the whole Kerbal universe
  19. I've never tried the third one. Honestly that's one of the hardest maneuvers I can think of in KSP. Those docking nodes are finicky and require perfect alignment. It's hard enough in freefall, but doing it under powered levitation is just going to be wicked hard.
  20. hahahahahahahaha Boy thats a knee slapper
  21. Haha, I will from now on think of warp-related position bugs as "cabin fever"
  22. Wooohoo! Looks great! are you the first person to make mod internal cockpit? if so you getting us off to a great start
