The parts could connect upon launch loading by specific docking port code that only allows for preassembly docking. A greater issue would be how drag is calculated. You may need a top or most furthest forward part to be a standard part. So great idea! Peace.

Very good! A detailed and thorough treatise. Peace.

[1.0.5] Kerbal Planetary Base Systems v1.0.2 Released!
theJesuit replied to Nils277's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Blue Screen! The Kraken is evolving! -
There are a number of possible iterations of a phone or tablet app such as VAB only ship builder as an example. For your suggestion perhaps an android app that operates with Telemachus. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/24594-1-0-4-(2015-07-04)-Telemachus-–-Telemetry-and-Flight-Control-in-the-Web-Browser which would provide the abilities you have suggested. Peace.

Great job! It seems your dedication is comparable to the developers! Maybe they should take you on! (Still hoping for a garage part at twice the height/size for a rover Peace. -
Mighoul Saboodo(Maxmaps) is invited to The White House ?!?
theJesuit replied to MK3424's topic in KSP1 Discussion
So... the President of the United States plays KSP? Congrats Maxmaps. I wonder what his Forum username is? -
Not having seen the movie yet... how does it dock? Funnily enough was wondering about a fuel tank or similar that would simply add to the bottom of a Mark 1-2 pod. There was one being linked somewhere else but that wouldn't necessarily have the same style as you are going for, and I'm uncertain as its development status. IVA might be lacking in something as well but that would cut down on your own development time. Looks good though. Looking forward to the whole mod. Keep up the good work. Peace.

Hiding or moving singular parts of the UI
theJesuit replied to theJesuit's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
That's all fair enough! It may even be a new feature in 1.1... I'd have to go and suggest it though. Wouldn't want to delay the post 1.05 release any further! -

Hiding or moving singular parts of the UI
theJesuit replied to theJesuit's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Bump. Because of delays to the 1.1 update and denotes giving a feeling that it still could be some time. Peace. -
I like to limit myself to the tier two launch pad so assembly in orbit is a must for interplanetary. My current duna exploration vessel required two launches for a Minmus ISRU setup, which brings fuel back for the Duna mothership. The Duna craft herself needed five launches. The first for an ISRU with hitchhiker and trial life support, second was main booster and tanks, third for rotational habitat, fourth command with life support supplies, fifth was two landers for ore mining on Ike and science. Peace.

Feel free to make some simple part requests
theJesuit replied to More Boosters's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
How about making wedges with varying angles. This would enable us to create 'circles' without part rotation or part clipping. Also how about curved truss scaffolding but in segments, say in 8ths. Make the segments fit together to create a circle with the size of the 3.75 or 5m or larger. Peace. -
Looking good. Question or two, are the parts based around a 2.5 style or bigger, and do the components of the rotational hab separated or is it a single unit?

All part of the challenge? But yes, DSEV has issues when you move in and out of warp with the rotation still going tends to result in rapid unplanned disassembly. With Pork jets inflatables you can't ever turn them off and the challenge of orbital construction or origami is lost. At some point I'll post a video of my rotational hab launched on a tier two launch pad. At some point. Peace.

For visuals in storytelling! DSEV http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/135717-1-0-4-Deep-Space-Exploration-Vessels-1-0-Build-NASA-Inspired-Ships-In-KSP has a good example of a rotational hub using Infernal Robotics. However this makes it hard for orbital construction as docking to ports either directly or indirectly attached to IR parts gets nasty. Having not yet had the chance to watch the twitch streams I'm assuming that the hab comes in pieces? To get around the IR construction issue is by launching the whole rotation section folded up using IR parts then unfolding it to shape with docking ports then holding it together and providing proper crew transfers. Whilst the docking ports connect it doesn't change the ship part tree as they are already connected via the IR parts. The real issue with this is part count! I'm quite looking forward to this. Keep up the good work! Peace.

[Closed] Nupols Mk2 Additions (free blendfiles)
theJesuit replied to Nupol's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Looks like a unique idea that I haven't seen implemented yet. Good luck! Peace -
When I first started playing back around .19 I think, I didn't really worry as most launches were in the yellow regardless. Over the past twelve months though my playing time has been reduced, yet with a new laptop I though lag was a thing of the past until I docked a early version of a Minmus miner to the ISRU multi-purpose station in Minmus orbit. I really though it was my computer failing to push the CPU out of battery mode - and after clearing much stuff out realised it was simply part count! Now, in the same career save I'm preparing an interplanetary craft but attempting to keep the total count to 150, yet with JSI's transparent windows and the Kerbal Planetary Base Systems for a rotational habitat for the mothership, ISRU and satellite deployment. It is hard to keep it looking GOOD yet still usable. Peace.

Hi all, Just a thought which was sparked by this article on io9.com which basically says that through machining the aluminium, Boeing has reduced the number of welds (and therefore welding material) for the Orion Crew module from 33 welds to 7, saving 320 kilograms. My question to you all given that we play a game limited not necessarily by imagination but by CPU, GPU, RAM and coding, do you design your interplanetary craft around your own computer's part-count limit to reduce lag? If so, do you design your ideal mothership then knock off parts, trying to achieve the same level of awesomeness with the fewest number of parts? Peace.

[1.0.5] Kerbal Planetary Base Systems v1.0.2 Released!
theJesuit replied to Nils277's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
I'm a big fan of the transparent windows, but the RPM props not so much. Installing RPM to get eth windows, and experiencing more lag, I deleted the RPM Props, which did help significantly (but did not alleviate the lag.) Better still it kept the transparent windows! Peace. -
I'm just a tad interested in how people challenge themsleves as I've been enjoying a particular self imposed challenge on a hard career playthrough. Along with the usual TAC.LS and no reverts, I require any trip of more than a couple of kerbin days require a rotational habitat built myself using stock or kerbal planteary base systems and Infernal Robotics. So far so My main limiter though is that I won't move past a tier 2 launch pad meaning that all flights have a limit of 140 tons. Even for creating interplanetary craft. Does anyone else do this? Peace.

Just downloaded 0.2.3 and so very very impressed. The transparent windows are my favourite . Congratulations and again, go well in your studying and examinations. Peace. -

Just a small teaser! I look forward to your updates as much as the game updates too! (I do hope that my most desired part of the update will be included though. Impatience is a vice.) Good luck with your exams and no doubt we'll see you once exam conclude and 1.1 drops! Peace.
