  1. Having a Mainsail under a stack of 2m fuel tanks is better for a launch stage because the 2m core allows you to attach loads of extras around it, something the one meter models cannot do as well.

  6. I never corrected my angle to match it, so I was actually orbiting it semi-polarly. Still, I know what I'm doing, been playing as long as you, knew where to look for it. It eventually popped up, but definitely not visible from the extremes of its SoI.
  7. Because I was caught in Jool's SoI and still couldn't find it (2x AA, 1650x1080 resolution) and that's about 50 billion (trillion?) meters closer to Jool than Kerbin is.
  8. If I can't see Jool from its extreme SoI, there's no way you can see it from Duna/Kerbin.

  10. Is KW rocketry really balanced? I tried it in .15 and the one meter kerosene engines were insane OP for launch stages.
  11. This is going to sound cliche, but my serious answer to you is moar boosters. My 3-crew munar lander is no paragon of effiency, but it only uses 3 large tanks and one half-size for the lander. The rest of it is boosters.

  13. To anyone with a crappy rig: you shouldn't be convincing anyone with gameplay, show them youtube vids.
  14. The new iX series of processors are practically designed to be overclocked, at least temporarily. Just make sure you have adequate cooling, especially for long sessions.
  15. I think a campaign can wait until we have more... infrastructure... like docking, real missions to perform on EVA/IVA, stock payloads to deliver to orbit, a working aerodynamic model, etc.
  16. I don't think the large tanks are meant to be used in tandem like a lot of people use them. I could be wrong about that. It is sandbox, after all.

  18. To clarify, do decouplers count as bombs? What about decouplers with retro-rockets (sepratrons) to eliminate airspeed?
  19. Decouplers make for decent bombs. Here's my maneuverable bomber, the Jekyll Mk II: All bombs are precision accurate and it holds 15 of them (fired in ten sets). EDIT: Was in a hurry to get this posted, so here's the flight manual: Step 1: Fire up the main engine Step 2: fire VTO rockets at ~80m/s for optimal ascent to 500 meters within ten seconds.
  20. Ah yes, getting to the moon without patched conics was fun. I waited until it was like 5-10 degrees from directly overhead, and burned straight to it. On my first try, I was ignorant of the phrase or meaning of 'retroburn' and slammed into it at several km/s I used to have my old copy of 13.2 on my desktop, but never brought it over to my lappy. Oh well.
