  1. I think FAR finds the volume of a parts/parts using voxelisation https://github.com/mattatz/unity-voxel
  2. Thanks man I was pulling my hair out over that one
  3. @Azimech @SpannerMonkey(smce) @DoctorDavinci , @linuxgurugamer found @Thomas P.'s old fairing switcher mod download here https://www.dropbox.com/s/slbp4ir4q9myc4f/FairingTextureSwitch.zip?dl=0 Here is the old bit of MM code that actually does the switch, it would need to be updated to the current version MODULE { name = FairingTextureSwitch allowSwitchInFlight = false // Should the texture be switchable in Flight-Mode? nextIsVisible = true // Should the user see a "Next Texture"-button previousIsVisible = false // Should the user see a "Previous Texture"-button allowSwitchOnEVA = true // Should the texture be switchable in EVA-Mode (independent from "allowSwitchInFlight") defaultName = Default // Name of the SQUAD-FairingTexture Textures { Black = example/Black // Texture named "Black" Pink = example/Pink // Texture named "Pink" Green = example/Green // Texture named "Green" } } @5thHorseman once wrote a bit of MM code in a thread that enabled this without the dll, but that was in the previous forum software and I can't get to it anymore
  4. Dammit I just realised it was @5thHorseman I am such a ...
  5. Good Job, I actually got the dropbox link and downloaded it, however, the first page is not the page you commented on, and I am absolutely sure it was you. It was 2 or 3 pages in, shame that wayback does not seem to have the other pages like this one http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/128414-1-0-x-FairingTextureSwitch-Switchable-Textures-on-Stock-Fairings!-July-11/page3
  6. I was wondering if it is possible to retrieve a thread, I am looking for a POST @linuxgurugamer made about a mod that has vanished, he posted a bit of MM script I would dearly like to recover, this is the thread link, but it does not work anymore https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/128414-1-0-x-FairingTextureSwitch-Switchable-Textures-on-Stock-Fairings!-July-11 Cheers
  7. I did that one back in the original challenge, I don't know if anyone is currently maintaining the scoreboard on that reboot.
  8. Unfortunately not yet, I had a way to do it back when I made my SR-71, I lost the script somewhere and it might not work anymore anyway. You can always copy the fairing dds image from Squads parts folder, make it black, then point the faring.cfg at it. You might wan't NEBULA decals as well, I had to make some custom ones to get the look right. Your SR-71 is better than mine so it should look wicked!
  9. Might want to check the payload fraction challenge thread before making that boast, but for size I think you are currently unmatched!
  10. RCS Balls and Thermometers make very good solid hinges, as you said airbrakes or elevons to move the parts and make them dock at start and extension so you keep control of engines, you would lose control while they are extending but would regain control once docked. Your mk2 fuselage in the x-wing is particularly a good size for this.
  11. You would put docking ports in the swept and deployed positions so timewarp wouldn't be an issue @Servo has an F-14 that does it already. However there is no need for swing wings, I have a SSTO Spaceplane already that fits in a mk3 cargo bay, it was for a Laythe trip I was planning. A mk1 fuselage and small wings are small enough to fit, you can even get them in MK2 bays just. I also built one that was delivered to the ground in a mk3 cargo bay, then tilted and launched from the bay to orbit as another idea, I never finished that one.
  12. I made a little crew transport SSTO that works quite well for LKO passenger delivery Download
  13. I love the craft, and seeing it in video is awesome, but someone needs to tell him about camera tools
  14. I learned to program at the end of high school on an Apple IIe if thats any consolation, @Castille7 and I may be in the running for the greybeards award
  15. Ha anyone noticed that push pull configuration seems to suffer from the same problem as real life in that the back prop overspeeds? So you need a different blade setting?
  16. How about painting it up using DCK and you can change the wheel covers too now!
  17. Also an extra action grouped aileron on one side, once above 100ms I don't tend to need any extra control, so using an extra aileron that can be undeployed helps with top speed
  18. Could you put a flat plate on the top of the rcs balls, just wondering if the judder can be minimized with a smoother transition by making the "foot" larger
  19. So far I have not been able to get yours off the ground because I can't reach 120ms before it's run off the side of the runway, JimmyR's I have only (only! still much faster than mine) got to 250ms, I tried different altitudes and I have not looked to see if he set blade deployment, I wouldn't think so because he has them pretty angled already. Still, they are both fast! I would not have thought antennae and solar panel bearings would be able to withstand so much. Brings us to an interesting convo that happened earlier in the thread, and has been suggested to me, that replacing Junos with Panthers is not rewarded. It seems however that 4 Junos = 1 Panther in dry mode and 6 Junos = 1 Panther in wet mode. So both these craft have 8 Panthers in Wet mode which would mean I would need 48 Junos to match the power. That does not seem a reasonable number for a plane.
  20. Holy crap, whelp there goes my record, I am not even close! Also, try editor extensions redux, that removes all the offset limits, and allows up to 20x symmetry
