Bug Status [8/11]
uglyduckling81 replied to Intercept Games's topic in KSP2 Suggestions and Development Discussion
I've never understood why Devs give updates on excrementsty sites like twitter instead of the official forums. Feel free to do both. But if your doing only one, make it the forums. -
I'm quite excited to buy this game in a few years when it's finished being developed (if Take-Two fund it to completion). Zero chance of a sale with DRM in the game. [snip]

Calvinball? More like Spherical Hydrogen Tank-Ball!
uglyduckling81 replied to Nate Simpson's topic in KSP2 Dev Updates
Yeah I know. There is no reason for it though except poor coding and optimisation. If they fix it as some point in the coming years of development trying to get the game to at least KSP1 standards, then ray tracing should be possible. It's not like the game looks very impressive. It shouldn't be taxing a 4090 at all. I've modded KSP to look far more detailed than KSP2 and the 4090 handles it fine. The limiting factor is definitely the CPU thread optimisation. -

Please implement a Ray Traced lighting, GI, and shadow system to the game for people with high end hardware and future hardware. After you have sorted out the core performance issues. -
That's a fair point. We don't really live up to our names anymore. Jim Baker doesn't mean anything anymore. 89 players was the low point this week.
-
I don't want to get too technical here, but it's right there in the title. KSP2..... successor to KSP. Being young and excrementsting the bed doesn't change the fact your the successor to your father. Of course your father could abandon you only partly grown. I suppose the would change your status as successor.
-
Though shall not talk about the game being dead as far as player numbers are concerned. Global Audience.... 99 people playing. Its crazy that this is even been possible to the successor to KSP. I wonder if there has ever been a sequel to a game this popular that's flopped this hard? I really hope they can get their excrements together and make this game worth playing before Take-Two pull the rug out from under them. Fingers crossed.
-
It's happened, the game is down to double digits. Fingers crossed for a positive response to the delayed patch 3 to get a few people playing this.
-
It will be sad if it happens. Fingers crossed for patch 3 next week with a bunch of fixes for all the worst problems and a player boost. Your right. It will be pretty bad if it's down under 100 even with all the Dev PC's left on.
-
New all time low player count today. 101. The community did a good job this week stopping it from getting down to double digits.
-
It was mentioned in some videos a month or two back. Could be BS. I think it was info gained from that awful resume website, where all this type of info comes from.
-
Not just during the merge. They just fired their technical lead on the project after this disastrous launch. Along with 3 or 4 other managers. The whole company sounds like a complete rock show. The best thing for KSP2 at this point would be to unlaunch it and for Take-Two to give it to a developer with a decent track record. Looking at their internal teams and the games they make I don't see much talent, so they would need to hire an 3rd party dev studio. Give them 3 years with the game and see if they could work some magic with the game. Get it to at least KSP1 standards. Or just release the game basically open source and let the community fix it for them.
-
I do. I find it interesting that the sequel to a game so insanely popular is almost down to double digit player counts shortly after launch.
-
That's it boys, hold the line. 104 players was the low. 2 more than yesterday. The 24 hour peak player count was down 50 people though. 320 down from 370 the day before, for peak player count.
-
All time low player count. 102 players today boys. Almost double digits. Tomorrow should see that fateful day.
-
112 players is the lowest today I believe.
-
100 people is the majority of the remaining player base though.
-
Seriously just focus on the worst bugs and modding support. Develop powerful and easy to use modding tools and let the community fix this game for you.
-
If your not already aware, Nate just announced the next patch. Within the next 6 weeks and the big feature is grid fins.
-
Next month? So another 6 weeks? The headline feature of the patch is grid fins?
-
At least they won't have any more bugs being discovered if no one plays it.

Floating colonies in gas giants
uglyduckling81 replied to Emanuel01's topic in KSP2 Suggestions and Development Discussion
wouldn't be that hard to figure out. You just need to go deep enough where the pressure is roughly the density of the ocean. Then you could pretty much have anything you wanted floating around down there with enough displacement. You wouldn't need nuclear reactors I don't think. You could possibly burn hydrogen but I suppose you would need to ship in oxygen. So maybe you would need to run a reactor. Unless somewhere deep down there was layers of oxygen at very high pressure. Maybe compressed into a solid? -
A week in... 10% still playing
uglyduckling81 replied to JoeSchmuckatelli's topic in KSP2 Discussion
I actually care about the development of KSP2. I was part of the KSP1 early access since 2013 or 2014 or something. I don't own KSP2 yet and obviously don't play it as a result, because of the game's horrendous state. Does that invalidate my opinion, criticisms, and suggestions for the game? Just because 90% of people have stopped playing the game doesn't mean they don't care or their opinion matters less. It just shows how terrible the game actually is. -
I did a search for KSP2, just being bored and this interview popped up. I've never seen this channel before and I'll probably never see it again but it is showing up for those who are looking.
