Hi all. Ok, so im starting to build a spacestation with a view to start mining and going to other planets. My question, albeit a silly sounding one is where to put my station? Is it better for me to put it in a high Kerbin orbit, mine from the Mun or Minmus and transfer fuel to the station, or put a station around the Mun for example and go to other worlds from there? I only play sandbox so efficiency isnt really an issue. Been thinking about this for a day or two but would love some expert opinions. Thankyou in advance

Excellent work.....I love the ages of the Kerbals. A very nice touch

Wow! Ive learnt so much here. I will experiment however I do like a stable orbit. I just know where I am

I made my first cinimatic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was so engaging, I didnt realise that 3.30 minutes had gone by! What I loved about this was its simplicity. To me, and im not an arty farty person, was that it felt like a dance, especially when you started to burn up and your solar panels went boom......after that your "arms" kept dancing to the music which isnt my sort of thing but none the less perfect for this experience. Constructive criticism though, after the impact the cockpit scene did nothing for me, plus at times the camera was a little shakey. DO NOT take that to heart......I enjoed watching it and will watch again for sure. In a nutshell, a brilliant watch.....have some rep from me for your efforts EDIT: My apologies friend......RIP Stacy -
Again, great to know. This is all new to me so I do appreciate all comments

Ahh ok thx! I just panicked but it worked....I may try this again to see if I can do it without orbiting every time.....an experimental stage if you will

Hi all. Forgive this if its "the norm" yet this is what I did last night and I just have to tell you! My normal route to any planet or moon is launch, then orbit. From there I use the protractor mod and leave kerbin at the exact time, however last night was different, purely because I was watching the protractor numbers reach where I wanted to burn prograde to Duna, however I'd not even launched yet, never mind be in a stable 100k orbit! Panic struck in, so I launched, however I made a note of the protractor numbers just as a record. What happened next was for me anyway brilliant (and probably lucky!) I've not been using the protractor mod long but I know enough that the first numbers you see (under an oval shape with a line through it) should be under 1.0..........mine was 0.22. The next number, under the devil looking fork or a W with a line pointing down in the middle (im sorry for my vagueness, please check out the Protractor mod on YouTube) should be exactly 0.00 when you hit prograde yet mine was 8.00, due to my original error. For me, a normal LKO is 100k so when my apoapsis reached that I shut down my engines and thought about my next move. Putting my ship into orbit was out of the question now as id missed my window, so, as the W with the line it the middle hit 0.0 I fired the engines again and just went prograde......nothing to lose I thought. By the time I had an intersect i was 158k from Duna apoapsis...... Entering Dunas SOI I didnt bother orbiting, then descending I just went for touch down and it worked! I couldnt believe it! Woot Woot!! A quick finale.....I returned home, only to mess the Kerbin reentry up, lose my parachutes due to burn up (my fault) however at 1.1km I EVA'd both Jeb and Bill, hit their RCS backpacks and hope for the best....... Both, luckily hit the water, both were recovered and both are ready for their next mission......with me in command, I feel I should pay them more!! Well, thats my last nights exploits.....I may just chill out and watch TV tonight.....

Mechjeb. I only use it for delta v stats.

Stupid things you noticed too late in a Mission
maceemiller replied to Leoworm's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I recently sent Jeb to Duna on a supposedly return mission.....landed with no delta V left, so decided to send a rescue party.....all went well until I realised my rescue ship had room for only 1 Kerbal in the pod..... Sent another rescue mission.....this time with a 2 capacity pod.....only to get into Duna's SOI befire I realised id took 2 Kerbanaughts with it.....again, no room to rescue Jeb.... As I stand at the moment, I have 3 Kerbals stranded on Duna. Jeb is located 67.3km away from Bill and Bob. Val is NOT happy with me as she will have to go pick up the pieces and rescue them all, unless she becomes the latest member of the Duna debacle! I have a wife in real life.....maybe she'd like to go to Duna? -
Firstly, awesome! This has floated my boat above the water line, however im a (sometimes) thick person...... Could some kind hearted, knowledgeable member explain how (if its possible) this can be installed and working for my flight to Duna tonight on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 tablet? I apologise for my stupidity

thankyou for moving and answered now - im using the Protractor mod.....simple now

Hi all. Does anyone know of an interplanetary calculator for RSS, such as the one for Kerbin shown below? Thankyou

How to de-orbit in RSS+FAR?

I use FASA and dont have many reentry problems -
DeltaV goes down during warp?
maceemiller replied to maceemiller's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Yes, I use hot rockets but never experienced this before when I went to Duna. -
Ok, an odd one here ive never encountered before. Ive launched a trip to Duna. I get into Kerbin orbit and set the manoeuvre node to Duna.....no problems. However, as I time warp the DeltaV on my lander reduces and ends up at zero left when I get to Duna....I had over 4000dv before I warped and the engine isnt being used?

Be aware before any more posts.....I love this game, im sorry if you can't have the same fun : - - - Updated - - -

You ever hear that saying, the customer is always right? We're the customers, deal with it. Good thing it's not your game. Violent Jeb, but it is my game...I payed for it, I play it, yet I dont lose no sleep over it....ive just reread every post. I still fail to see why I have received some, frankly, negative responses as all I said was "dont like it, dont use it"! If people dont like that then fine.....im only saying give the people who dont get paid yet bring us amazing mods a break! Oh well, time to watch the next load of comments come in

enjoy the updates x

Maybe ive been misinterpreted here, as my "moan" was not against KSP, Squad or any other factor with the game. Anyways, WGAF to be honest....imma keep playing and enjoying the game regardless....im shocked to have offended so many people here.... From now on, ill do as ive seen many here do........read the content and say nothing.... In retrospect, is my post THAT bad? Obviously it is?
-
Wow....I guess ill keep my 100th post as my last here then....thankyou for everything. My opinion is valid though.
