My Minmus base mission made me change my mind about multiplayer
maceemiller replied to ShadowZone's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I've thought about multiplayer before and also couldn't see the point of it however this post has made me rethink.....shame none of my friends are remotely interested in KSP.....time for me to recruit some new pilots I think! Great idea though OP -
Stuck with engine on animation
maceemiller replied to legion565's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Are you using real fuels alongside another engine pack? I has a similar problem except my issue was no flame animation? -
No Heating effects
maceemiller replied to Lokotor's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
I had this problem recently on windows.....I was told to rename the Physics.cfg to Physics.old. I did this, started KSP again and my heating issue was solved (Restarting KSP created a new default Physics.cfg file). Once I had finished playing, I went back to my KSP root folder and deleted the Physics.old folder. Hope this helps:) -
Lots of crashes, and I mean a lot!

Make sure you use CKAN to install your mods, if you already dont. I used to manually install tbem but tbh its a waste of time and effort.... CKAN makes mod life easy, trust me -
Reentry just ploughs into ground?
maceemiller replied to maceemiller's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Lol very true! -
Well, I feel kinda embarrassed tbh after just looking at this page! All I did was launch a lander I built into LKO, flew and landed it on the Mun, then took it to Minmus for Bill to stretch his legs before I landed safely back on Kerbin......maybe not technically advanced but I considered it a mission complete (I decided I wanted to try this whilst having a cup of coffee this morning). Looks like I'm going to have to get better at this........ .....well, I have been to Duna and back and also landed on Eve but never been to 2 places in one flight so I guess its not too bad

Thanks for replying......turns out it was my 64bit install getting screwed up.....went back to 32bit and all is fine again....oh well, it was worth having a go

Reentry just ploughs into ground?
maceemiller replied to maceemiller's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Hi there and thanks for your help. I deleted that file but alas nothing changed. I uninstalled FAR and hey presto it works again (I am using 64bit windows 1.0.4) but now ive lost the atmosphere graphical flame effect? Any ideas? -
Reentry just ploughs into ground?
maceemiller replied to maceemiller's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I do use FAR.....maybe I will try reentry without it to see if it helps. Thankyou -
Im loving the 64bit windows KSP but just a little question. Has anyone using it experienced any re entry problems? Twice today ive re entered and once I hit the atmosphere I get the flames around my pod......no surprises there except on these 2 occasions my lander didnt slow down even with the parachute deployed. The flames were still there until I hit the ground at a ridiculous speed? Ive been told it was that my andle was too steep yet ive re entered countless times without this problem? Is it just me or........

Reentry just ploughs into ground?
maceemiller replied to maceemiller's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I only play sandbox. Ok thankyou for your replies.....I thought I was shallow enough but thinking back I may not have been. Ive had this once before in 32bit (I use windows 64bit and thought that may be why) however I have re entered perfectly before in 64bit. I will send a test craft up later today to try re entry again and report my findings. Thankyou all again -
Hi all. Just a quick question. Ive just deorbited to return to kerbin yet I didnt slow down? As I came thru the atmosphere I had the flames appear as usual with my parachute ready to deploy except all the way to ground impact the flames remained burning and I just got faster? By the time my parachute deployed it was just to late. Anyone else have this issue before?

I have to admit, I can see his logic in going vertical but a decent g-turn is the best way to go. As for "the worry" in doing one I find that part of the fun......I never get bored launching as on some vessels ive built I can almost feel the craft creaking and wanting to break so I adapt my flying accordingly. Until my mission is over, tension, worry and adrenaline consumes me.....man I love KSP! ;p

I run 64bit and have no issues whatsoever apart from the pod icon and the right/left mouse buttons. I have about 33 mods installed with all running correctly. If anyone needs I can list what mods I have and my system specs. Its ksp1.0.4 I use if it helps.
-
Im currently using the 64bit workaround KSP on windows and so far no crashes. Only a couple of small bugs which don't affect my gameplay at all. I have 8gb in my laptop and runs smooth as you like

Tweakscale for all parts?
maceemiller replied to maceemiller's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Thanks for your reply but I wouldn't know where to start to make a config file. The last programming I did was on a BBC Micro and Acorn Electron back in the 80's! -
Awesome! Been using 64bit all afternoon/evening and its so good! Only 2 things ive found wrongish are 2 ive seen mentioned here........pods icon dissapears yet go into subassemblies and back and pods return and the right/left mouse buttons after closing the game being reversed, again a simple fix by simply tapping each button a few times fast on the desktop. Cant say about the building's as I only play sandbox. Id backed up my entire KSP folder before trying this but there was nothing to fear. Excellent!

Intel HD intergrated graphics card improvement
maceemiller replied to maceemiller's topic in The Lounge
Thanks man im just doing a simple launch, land on mun, take off from mun , goto minmus and land, take off and go home and on arrival to the mun it looked brilliant with textures, scatterer, full res etc maxed out. Well happy -
Hi all. Firstly, if I have posted this in the wrong place, please move OK, so today has been a complete success imo. I managed to really get the best out of my laptops Intel HD graphics card to a point where I have the graphics settings turned up to the max where before I was limited to low settings. The planets and rockets have never looked so good (apart from my gaming PC which I dont use much due to space restrictions in my house so I use my laptop mostly). Heres my laptop specs: Acer Aspire 5733: Intel Core i3 CPU M380 @2.53Ghz 8GB RAM Intel HD Graphics: Physical memory 7862MB Minimum graphics memory 128MB Maximum graphics memory 1760MB Processor - Intel64 Family 6 Model 37 Stepping 5 Processor speed 2527MHZ I am no tech head so Im not sure about many of the above stats but I wanted to see if I could improve its performance so I Googled away and came across a video on YouTube. I followed it exactly upto the part where it goes on about installing Razor Game Booster (I didnt want that) and fired up KSP ramped up the graphic settings to max and tested..... Whoa! What a huge difference! I have never seen Duna's dust clouds before and the Mun looked stunning. I did also notice quite an improvement in my FPS, especially when moving the camera around my space station in orbit around Kerbin which before this was very jerky. If any other Intel HD users would like to try this the link is below. I would be really interested to see if it improves your KSP experience as it has mine www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cCxH8wRsNs
