1. If we're talking about Ariane V, I'd like if we could see about the ATV solar panels again. There's nothing else that quite feels right on it.
2. Could someone explain to me whereabouts the centre of lift should be located relative to the centre of mass, if the shuttle's constructed properly? I'm having some issues with control, but I can't get the lift centre to be anywhere but behind and below CoM, which I don't think is stable?
3. Truss segment looks great! Do you plan to use dual axis tracking for the SAWs or only in the one plane?
4. Hi Benjee, just wanting to ask if the radiators for the solar parts are still planned; no rush though, as you said youve been busy, just wondering.
5. I've experienced the camera issue with a range of mods for a long time, such as Component Space Shuttle, and I don't think the problem is inherent to Tantares
6. MrMeeb, it may not help part count, but what about using an IR hinge for the antennae? You can clip the actual hinge inside the FGB, and rotate the antennae to parallel with the stack so they don't stick out.
7. Sackpfeife, the Gemini in Tantares was removed and reworked as the independent TRAILS mod
8. Very interesting to see Solidworks used in KSP. I like the idea of breaking the truss sections up into pieces, but it may make part count just that bit more difficult for ISS replicas. Not so sure about the idea for the rotary joint, as IR can't suntrack; the kosmos mod had a perfect set of 2-axis sun-tracking solar arrays, but I wouldn't even begin to know how that worked, and ultimately it's up to you. That of course also plays into whether you keep the solar arrays seperate parts or attached to the truss piece, but on that end I think thats another question of part flexibility versus part count, like with the truss pieces. Docking ports sound absolutely fine, they're very part specific, so there's little need to try to make them anything more than what they are.
9. @_Augustus_The animated ports not docking are a known bug, and there is a solution literally on the page before this.
10. Just so you know Drakenex, you've got Unity and Harmony the wrong way round, and the PMA connecting Unity to Zarya is upside down, but the rest is great . Did you use the kibo style part to get the attach point for the truss?
11. I'd say option 2 as well, I found the extensions a bit weird looking. Besides, surely with 2 CBMs docked on the end, it would look like those extensions anyway?
12. Would you consider doing a return capsule in the style of the stardust return capsule? I've always found that shape to be really interesting, its similar to the ones they use for Mars entry
13. Beautiful parts! Would it be possible to get a an adapter part (2.5 to 1.25), to add onto the ends of your pressurised modules? It just looks a bit wrong for me to have flat ends.
14. It's amazing how detailed your parts are, without crossing into photorealistic, whicb often comes out poorly. Great work!
15. With regard to the APAS port; it's not really supposed to be used except on the shuttle adapters and the end of PMAs, and definitely not as a replacement for the CBMs. If you're concerned about the aesthetic quality of APAS on 1.25m ports, perhaps you could just make a 1.25 to 0.9125 adapter? Like the adapters in-game? Not realistic as far as USOS parts go, but neither's APAS on 1.25 anyway.
16.
I didnt even think of checking video for that, i think that might be it.
Yeah, there's a vid from Terry Virt's EVA on his most recent flight showing ingress, and, while poor resolution, it looks like that hatch isn't there in the back of the crew lock while it's sealed.
17. Are you sure that back hatch isn't just the airlock hatch retracted inside the crew lock? The astronaut appears to be halfway out in the picture, meaning the hatch is open, and in EVA footage the only part that appears to swing out is the thermal cover, which is more or less fabric.
