  1. Look very close, and you'll see I have 2 0.625 tanks under the wings attached to the fuselage.
  2. Apparently, the power granted to us by the developers (alt+F12) makes it a lot easier to set up stuff for a story if you like to write in Mission Reports. one of the locations I'm using.
  3. I can ALSO show you one of the stations I am working on for the story. Kind of slower than I would like because real life and all, but the new stuff in the ALT+F12 menu help a TON. This would be Kerbin Science Station, the main station around Kerbin. This story will take place decades after Etherium.
  4. Hellllloooooooo Kerbonauts! Teaser trailer released for the next story from me after this one, so check that out if you haven't, and help me name that ship in the teaser! We still have something to deal with in Etherium however, so... Morning. Finally, KSC was back to normal. Gene sat outside Administration in a chair just taking in Kerbol as it rose over KSC, listening to the birds sing their sweet songs. Animals frolicked near the launch pad; but he did not do anything to relocate them; they would move on on their own. A very important launch was taking place in a couple weeks. The launch of a ship unlike any other they had ever built. A ship unlike even the KSS Haydi. And Jeb was the person of honor at the reveal ceremony. Jeb was currently in his quarters, having spent over half an hour fussing over his tuxedo he had chosen to wear. He had just arrived back to base two days ago, and was happy to be back home again. He wondered wether or not he would get some time off to go to the island airstrip to think before this monumental mission. He started squirming in his tux again; it still didn't look quite right, so he decided 'to hell with it', and ended up wearing a plain grey uniform, as he wished to convey that he was on equal footing with all of the other Kerbals. That's how he always was, but that orange jumpsuit SO wasn't him...it was a requirement though, so he figured this move would even surprise Gene. Wernher was also feeling a lot better. He would still be exiling himself to Duna, but for the moment the pressure was off him. He was so looking forward to revealing his new ship, which was named after him. The reverse engineered blueprint gave Kerbalkind something to take this fight to the Etherium homeworld, and hopefully put a stop to them taking over the homes of any other aliens out there... Soon, an old transport pulled up to the stairwell where many senior staffers lived, and out popped Jeb himself. These were seldom ever used anymore due to their tendency to tip over, but Jeb felt the need to take one of the old things for a spin. "WERRRRRRRN! Time to go!" Wernher rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. He was NOT a morning person; never was. He didn't even have his morning koffee yet. "Jub...I COMINK!" he shouted back down to him, then lazily marched down the stairwell. "Wern, you look like whatever the cat dragged in last night." Jeb grinned. "Luuuuuung night, Jub. Lotz uf ztuff to zink aboot." Jeb was curious. "Like what?" "My sheep." Jeb understood full well, but couldn't resist cracking a joke. "Well, we better go. Best not to pull the wool over the crowd's eyes." Jeb laughed, and Wernher rolled his eyes. "Jub...huw meny times I...nevermiiiiind..." The ceremony took place later that morning, near the beginning of the crawlerway. The ship was not on its launcher yet, since it was being revealed for the first time. Bill used his engineering expertise to make curtains out of giant solar panels to obscure the ship until it was time to reveal. In the transport, Jeb was nervous. He had to give the reveal speech, and he had rehearsed it and re-rehearsed it in the hours leading up to this event. He hoped he wouldn't flub the speech up, since this would be televised all across Kerbin, and even to Minmus, where he was sure Val would be watching. Even Her Majesty the Grand Kerbal was in attendance. At last, the time came. Jeb walked up to the podium, and cleared his throat. "Ladies and gentlekerbs, we are here on a most momentous day. You may remember Kerbin was at war. Aliens had come, and they did their best to destroy this world and all that we hold dear. But they were thwarted by my team, and others here at KSC." The crowd roared, and Jeb started getting emotional. "This day would not be possible without some people who are no longer with us...from poor Munhat who had gone insane and ended up as a green smudge on a red planet... ...to poor Haydi, whose sacrifice was not in vain... ...to the countless people aboard the KSS Grand Kerb or KSS Munhat, who perished in the attack on the ship." "But now my fellow Kerbals, now is the time to strike back at them! We have reversed engineered some of their technology, and have used it to build a ship unlike any other. A ship, that while it has no weapons, it has small "Sprite" craft, so we can land on their planet. Our software engineers have designed extremely potent computer viruses similar to the one that took down the KSS Jeb over Kerbin months ago. We will upload them to their main network and DESTROY the etherium once and for all!" A roar went up from the crowd, and Wernher took the stage and stood next to Jeb. "Our head rocket scientist, Wernher von Kerman. Founder of the Gravioli. and now, inventor of the WD-1, which is on a ship we call... ...the KSS WERNHER!" The curtains rolled up to show an impressive vessel, with 4 auxilary craft on it. Gene also couldn't miss an opportunity to show off some brand new hardware as well; launch clamps he later stated was "the best thing since sliced anything". "That strange engine is a contraption Dr. Wernher worked tirelessly on. And as soon as possible, it will begin its trial run in space. It is called a 'Warp Drive', and will allow us to reach the Cercani system in a mere two weeks, instead of the thousands of years it would take otherwise. May this ship stand as a bold statement, that we Kerbals have a right to live. A right to exist just like any other being! AND no one, or no THING will take that away from us. Even the Reds, who hate us, have a right to exist! WE ARE KERBALS...!!!" The crowd roared so loud that it startled a flock of birds which had landed on the roof of the VAB, and sent some tens of Kerbals to the infirmary with a splitting headache. Wernher himself had snuck away from the festivities, and walked to the side of the runway. He hated pageantry - why couldn't they just show the ship and be done with it? He recognized it was a special occasion, but no more special than waking up in the morning, he mused. Between him and the ship was no cover at all...to get there, he would have to make a run for it and hope to Kerblord he wasn't seen. If this worked, they would only discover Wernher's absence while he was already on his way to Duna. But it was a long way there, and he didn't know if he would make it without being spotted. Jeb meanwhile was getting antsy. Wernher wasn't here to board his new ship, and without him, the event would be a failure in his eyes. It was then that he saw Wernher running towards the craft as fast as he could go. He began to understand why Wernher looked like he got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning...He was going to board his ship, HIS way. With no pressure. Jeb remembered the pressure Wern felt when he was awarded the KPRRID (Kerbal Prize for Really, Really Important Discoveries), and wondered if all of this somehow broke him. Jeb decided to shrug it off. Wern probably knew what he was doing anyway. "I could not have defended Kerbin as well as I have without one more member of our crew...He was once the enemy, but he turned to help all of Kerbalkind." Jeb held up a memory module that had been installed inside of a device with speakers on it. "Four, you may address the crowd now." "THANK YOU, JEBEDIAH KERMAN." Most of the crowd grew silent, un-nerved by how cold this thing sounded, but listened anyway. "BEFORE HAYDI CHANGED ME FOR THE BETTER, I WAS PART OF AN INVASION FORCE, DESIGNED TO TAKE KERBIN FOR THE NEEDS OF OUR GROWING MILITARY. I WAS DISPATCHED HERE WHEN WE RECIEVED WORD THAT YOU WERE SHOWING A RESISTANCE WE COULD NOT OVERCOME. IT WAS JEB THAT 'KNOCKED SOME SENSE' INTO ME, QUITE LITERALLY. AND HAYDI TAUGHT ME ABOUT ALL OF KERBALKIND. DO NOT FEAR ME, I AM ON YOUR SIDE NOW. AND I WANT TO HELP UNDO WHAT WE HAVE DONE. THE OTHER ETHERIUM WILL BE BACK, AND IN FAR GREATER NUMBERS, UNLESS WE TERMINATE THEM ALL." The only thing that could be heard from the crowd is silence for a few seconds. Then one lone Kerbal started applauding, which caused a chain reaction, and eventually the whole crowd was applauding and cheering. "SILENCE." The crowd quieted down. "OUR QUEEN, SUPERUNIT 0000 IS ONLY THE LEADER OF OUR ATTACK GROUP. TO DESTROY OUR RACE, YOU WILL NEED TO UPLOAD THESE VIRUSES INTO WHAT WE CALL "THE NEXUS". IT IS A MASSIVE TOWER THAT CONSTANTLY CREATES DRONES, SUCH AS WHAT I WAS." Jeb smiled as Four spoke. He was the enemy, so he figured he was extremely fortunate to now find him as a friend. "JEBEDIAH KERMAN, NOW THAT I HAVE TOLD ALL KERBALS THESE THINGS, I WILL HAVE TO SAY GOODBYE. NOW DO NOT WORRY, I WILL BE JUST DELETING MY SUBROUTINES...I HAVE PLANNED THIS SINCE WE WERE ABOARD THE KSS HAYDI." Jeb sniffled. Goodbye? Why? "Four...I will miss you, old friend..." "I WAS NOT DESIGNED TO FEEL EMOTION, BUT SORROW DETECTED FROM JEBEDIAH. YOU WERE A GREAT FRIEND TOO, BUT MY TIME HERE HAS COME. COMMENCING DELETION." "NO!" Jeb screamed and hugged the memory module, as the power light went out. (Note, this isn't the last you'll be hearing of four....)
  5. You might have seen the teaser for this, which is below, but I'm hammering out more of the plot in my head...Sooo... Here's the OFFICIAL trailer! I hope you guys love this one as much as you like Etherium, which I still need to finish BTW, and that WILL happen!
  6. I do have a follow up, seeing I'm a HUGE Star Trek fan, it'll be adventures exploring the Cercani system, which reminds me...I need to make a trailer for that... Oh, and have an Etherium teaser for a craft I'm in the process of putting together. Hint....Who would need such LARGE windows on a plane?
  7. Nothing is hapenning at the KSC...my Kerbals are on vacation. Literally.
  8. Now don't worry, I am not cancelling Etherium, I just feel it's time to move on. To 1.2.1 that is!! For the majority of Etherium, and for the endgame I used 1.1.3, and wanted to use another solar system for the endgame part of my story, but with 1.2.1 which is MUCH more stable, it's going to be a lot easier to do stuff. The other solar system part of it has proven to be too difficult to set up, so I'm going to have to retcon a little bit, but not so much as to break the story. The Etherium DO INDEED hail from the Cercani system, but right before a future event, a discovery is made that makes the warp drive useless. this is the only thing I am changing. so the story stays intact. Only thing I forsee is a liquided-off Gene because he wasted tons of company hours.
  9. If the anti tank gun's location is known then by all means area fire around the gun and assault it using the Fire and Movement technique. uhh YOU have to describe it, not copy that
  10. I ate him with stuffing and potatoes and...yams... Hey, Just Jim, you out there?
  11. Let me try this out. Here goes: The thing that many new people first set themselves in green guy space computer thing is getting a thing, often with people in it, into a large round thing around a huge rock. Usually there are many frowns before smiles, and the thing of the game is high. However, the feeling of happy when a new person's closest to the huge rock finally gets above 70 really long things is quite smiling. It's a LOT harder than it looks. Next one: Describe what the Large Hadron Collider does, and why it's important.
  12. I have no idea where this would go, so please move it as necessary. I had this idea, either as a Windows program or in Mod form, so you can easily make new planets for KSP, that would output Kopernicus config files, and I made a mockup of it. I didn't include some things, like atmospheric density sliders for one, planet size sliders....etc. but the basic parts are all there. Would anyone be interested in this kind of thing? Note, I can't program it because I have no idea how, this is just an idea....but I would if I knew how though!
  13. How small can you make something? I wanted to find out today. With Tweakscale, I came up with this: And nope, it does NOT fly like it should.
  14. Ooooooooooops, thanks, I'll fix it when I post the next one. lol. Told you I'm busy lately heh
  15. I hit a snag. I'm going to have to redesign my ship I'm going to use, too wide and big, keeping an element though but the rest of it will be sleeker. Back to the drawing board....lol
  16. I'm probably going to have to modify it too, not enough thrust, d'oh but...I'm working on it now.
  17. The ship on top, no. The lifter itself...most definately. I will have to copy the craft files I need over to 1.2.1 but if they work, look for it!
  18. 1.2.1 seems to be more mod-friendly than the other updates, so I went hunting for things to use in my install. I also installed TweakScale so I can have other diameters without having to resort to other mods. Anywhooo....the first thing I built with my new "stock" (I.E. things I can't do without in my KSP) is this huge lifter with a Duna colony ship on top: It uses Tweakscale and the Space-Y Heavy Lifter Parts Pack (although there is a 0.625 diameter booster in there..by no means "heavy", lol) They might have increased the weight limit of the pad because this thing will not destroy it. It weighs 3,100 tons (rounded) and it's easy to compare the size because that orange tank at the top is normal size.
  19. Heh, I can't forget you DarkOwl. you did that already heh. Also thinking of starting a NEW post with behind-the-scenes stuff.
  20. Hello Kerbonauts!!! This time we have the conclusion of the fracas at Dres, and the start of hopefully what will be the beginning of a satisfying end to this Etherium tale. And Barring real life, I have something special planned for Chapter 38 for you guys. Before we start the chapter, I'd like to thank Just Jim, for inspiring me to start my own story...and I in turn encourage you to come up with a concept and start yours. Who knows? Hell, I have never done anything remotely like this on any other forum. Linuki was devastated. She lay on top of the alien craft crying her eyes out, slamming her fist into the thing. She didn't care how much it stung...just getting to vent her rage on SOMETHING was needed right now. She finally screeched, "WE HAVE A RIGHT TO EXIST TOO YOU KNOW!" "YOU ARE MERE PAWNS TO US SUPERIOR MACHINES. ALL CARBON-BASED LIFE IS, NOT JUST KERBALS. WE WILL CONTINUE THIS CRUSADE IN OTHER SYSTEMS...EVEN THOUGH WE WILL BE DEPARTING THIS ONE." So, Linuki thought, they launch a crusade to take over systems for their military, but when they get their butts kicked, they withdraw and never again disturb whoever they were conquering... Linuki changed her tone, only to get this thing to talk. "So, where are you from? I may be able to help you." A ruse. Linuki was the best Kerbal in drama class back in high school. "...WE ARE FROM PEQUAR. THE NAME OF OUR HOME PLANET. OUR STAR IS CALLED CERCANI." "Where are the rest of you?" "DESTROYED AT THE HANDS OF KERBALS. YOU ARE DEFECTING?" Linuki hoped she would not be discovered. Her hopes were quickly dashed... "UNSINCERITY DETECTED, WE HAVE GIVEN CRITICAL INFORMATION, DIE, DIE, DIE, ONE CALLED LINUKI KERMAN." Linuki hung on for dear life as Superunit 0000 lit her engines and blasted off. It was attempting to crush her with G-force, but Linuki had an idea. All machines have a control center SOMEWHERE...and if she could just hang on... "GET OFF, KERBAL!" "No! Why do you hate us?! What have we ever done to you in the first place?" "YOUR KIND HAVE KEPT US FROM VALUABLE RESOURCES. WE NEEDED KERBIN! GET OFF NOW!" Unfortunately, she would never find the control center as she was knocked off of the thing, and soon was alone over Dres, the Queen long gone by now. No one comes to Dres, she thought, and slowly gave into her fate. She looked down at Dres...and thought about many things. Poor Sheffeld...they both never knew what was coming. The day she joined the space program...Jeb "coercing" her into flying one of his experiments...meeting Sheffeld...she had a good life, she thought. She closed her eyes and silently wept. Is this how she would meet her end? Her thoughts were broken by her radio crackling to life. "This is Jebediah Kerman, captain of the KSS Haydi, We see you and are coming for you, Over!" JEB!!! Linuki was overjoyed at the sound of his voice, and he couldn't wait to tell him what happenned. "Just between us, we know FAR more than you about what has happenned...but we don't know what hapenned here. Looking forward to your debriefing!" Once Linuki was on board, she told Jeb everything that had transpired. Jeb in turn told her everything that was going on, as he reasoned that she was part of this whole thing now anyway. Linuki sat and listened in shock. It HAD been an attempted takeover of Kerbin...and she had chased off the Etherium leader, preventing reinforcements from arriving. After a long while, Linuki spoke. "Jeb...the savior of our race. I can't imagine what you've been through, but I can't think of a finer figurehead for the Kerbal Space Program. Gene must be very proud of what you have done." Jeb smiled. "Not finished yet. Just got word that we are to head back to Kerbin. Wernher has a special surprise for us. And we all get to go." Linuki was puzzled. "Go where?" Jeb laughed. "You'll see. Oh, and by the way, Welcome Aboard!"
  21. Ah, oops, them maybe I have the wrong one then...I love being able to set up the exact shot lol
