What the heck is with my KSC Menu screen? I load up my save, and instead of my KSC overview screen where you select the R&D, Astronaut Complex, Admin Building, Tracking Station, Mission Control, the VAB, or the SPH, and I get this: I have about 6-8 mods, none too big mostly small like Kerbal Engineer, RCS Build Aid, and a few parts packs. Does anybody else get this?? I've gone in and out of my save 12 times at one point without getting it to work. You can see I have a probe on the middle right landed at the Astronaut Complex, and I can't click it, or any other building. Sorry for the frustration but it annoys the crap out of me when I can't even play my game D:< -Slab EDIT: Embedding is the worst. http://imgur.com/R5vdJiY

Add a parachute to the chair, Jeb gets out and deorbits with his jetpack and rides a parachute down ;D -
First of all, sorry for the Jaden Smith title, I wasn't sure what to capitalize and what not to. So, how does hover mode work on the helicopter rotor? I didn't get to binding it to action groups but I did it in the right click menu and it didn't do anything. In the video that the KAX Dev made about it, he used action groups to treat his hover mode as the collective and the throttle as main engine throttle. Now I'll admit I don't know helicopters well, but I do know that he throttled up and lifted high off the ground then turned on hover mode and it leveled off and gave control of the altitude, but mine doesn't, it's still completely controlled by throttle. D: I'll try action groups and let you know how it goes. Thanks for your help! -Slab EDIT: Ok, I added action groups for toggle hover, and decrease/increase hover altitude and it had no effect at all. I looked at the Right-click menu and the buttons are changing the hover height number, but it's not having any effect.

When in doubt, cluster some Mainsails.
SlabGizor117 replied to SlabGizor117's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Well if you look back, to my reply, it has no fuel lines from the radial tanks. Radial tanks don't automatically feed into the central one without fuel lines. I suppose, but in comparison as far as one KR-2L though it looked pretty wimpy compared to the mainsail, only 2500 compared to 1500 of an engine around half it's size, but if you cluster them, maybe... Also, your cluster is off center D: -

Noice m8, thanks! I r8 emb3dding 8/8. - Ahh, forgot. I just quick-built it to see what it could lift, thought it was cool, and posted Wow... How? I struggle with my 80 ton lifter, although I'm an aesthetics .... about it, too. -

1.25m Engine Lift Tests!
SlabGizor117 replied to SlabGizor117's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Good idea, I'll try that! It might get kinda complicated, tho... :/ Hey, by the way, I'll post a different thread on this later, but I figured out a really good way to organize your crafts. You'll notice I had my test rockets named "Experimental - ____________", well I figured out I could categorize all my crafts this way, with tags like Experimental, Station for station pieces, Lander, Base, etc. Also, I have Recreational and Indev tabs, which, recreational being just kinda like, a roleplay thing or a replica, and Indev is something In Development, so I know where to look when I wanna work on a certain craft. I also went into the save file and disabled stock vessels, they clutter up the list, especially when it's alphabetical. Hope that helps! -Slab -
I wondered how much a given engine could lift, so with the help of Kerbal Engineer I was able to calculate, minus the weight of each engine itself, how much they could lift at a 1.00 minimum TWR. I plan to do .625m and smaller engines next, then move on to 2.5m and then 3.75m as well, that is, if you guys are interested Here's the first set:
-
I know you can't do it in options while creating a save unless it's career mode, but can you do anything aside from deleting the crafts from the game folder? I think that the stock crafts are saved in a folder apart from the individual savegame files, so I assume they're applied to all saves apart from those with it disabled... Somehow. Thanks for the help! -Slab

Question about the Delta IV Heavy?
SlabGizor117 replied to SlabGizor117's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Huh, thanks for the answers, guys! -
Hey, I just wondered how the staging works on the Delta IV Heavy. From what I can tell, it would seem that fuel crossfeed is the most efficient staging technique for shedding weight fast and regularly. Why is the Falcon Heavy the only rocket that does it? Wouldn't fuel crossfeed serve the Delta IV Heavy much better than what they use now?

No, no I don't mean that at all I'm not trying to start a religious discussion. Like I said, "for those who care, here are the verses." As in, if you want to know what the Bible actually said, as a means of discussing the physics of it, or whatever, then you can. Like I said, that's not to start a religious discussion.

Well, that's what the Bible says, believe what you want. For those who care, here are the verses: Isaiah 38:8 Behold, I will make the shadow cast by the declining sun on the dial of Ahaz turn back ten steps.†So the sun turned back on the dial the ten steps by which it had declined. *Optional nitty-gritty explanation:* We are informed by Herodotus that the sun-dial was an invention of the Babylonians (Herod., 2:109), from whom it would readily pass to the Assyrians. Ahaz may have obtained a knowledge of it, or an actual specimen, when he visited Tiglath-Pileser at Damascus (2 Kings 16:10), and, on his return to his capital, have caused one to be erected there. Sun-dials are of several kinds. The one here spoken of seems to have consisted of a set of steps, with a perpendicular gnomon or pole at the top, the shadow of which receded up the steps as the sun rose in the heavens, and descended down them as the sun declined. We must suppose that the sign was given in the forenoon, when the shadow was gradually creeping up the steps. Hezekiah thought that a sudden jump in the same direction would be as nothing compared with a reversal of the motion, and therefore required that the shadow should go back, which it did. How the effect was produced, whether by an eclipse as argued by Mr. Bosanquet ('Transactions of Society of Bibl. Archaeology,' vol. 3. pp. 34-40), or by refraction, or by an actual alteration of the earth's motion, we are not told; but there is reason to believe that the cause, whatever it was, was local, not general, since the King of Babylon subsequently sent ambassadors, to inquire concerning "the wonder that was done in the land" (2 Chronicles 32:31). The sun returned ten degrees. We must not press this expression as indicating a real alteration of the sun's place in the heavens. The meaning is that the shadow cast by the sun returned. And when the sun stood still: Joshua 10:13 So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies, as it is written in the Book of Jashar. The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. Make of it what you will, but don't start an argument.
