BDArmory Mobile Weapons Platforms
SlabGizor117 replied to ayhc's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Very cool, I've never known what to do with land based crafts in BD lol. You should add some tanks and real life vehicles, like actual US artillery rocket trucks, and anti air stuff -
Thanks! I can't figure out why, but it's so much fun to fly!!

So I was messing with KSP and decided to build a Biplane. The modmaker for KAX uses the old swept wings alot, so I thought I'd try it with those, too. I think it turned out really well, the struts looks awesome It has the gas guzzling radial prop motor, and the thing is so dang powerful on that light airframe, it works just as well as a helicopter. XD Liberal use of part clipping for unoccupied nodes and offset and rotation is a must, it works so well on detailed crafts. I also got it under the bridge, something I've never done before First time trying to embed an album... <iframe class="imgur-album" width="100%" height="550" frameborder="0" src="//imgur.com/a/qw7Zu/embed"></iframe> - - - Updated - - - ...Nope Lemme try that again XD - - - Updated - - - Yay! There you go, guys! Thanks for reading! -Slab

Increased engine gimballing
SlabGizor117 replied to Daze's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Yeah, but it deals with control surfaces and fins well, also I've noticed the fine control mode(Caps) on RCS thrusters would work, how you tap it and it nudges it a tiny bit, or you hold it and it builds up to full power. That would probably work for gimbal on engines. Yes, as it is now, gimbaling(sp?) engines move instantaneously if not very fast, but you could fix that, and it would cover both the problems of wobble and aesthetics. I mean, the SSMEs don't look stupid with, what 10? 20 degrees of gimbal? 'Cause it's gradual -
A question about the Atlas V Rocket
SlabGizor117 replied to SlabGizor117's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Welp, this got complicated fast, so, Basically, other structures on main fuselage block symmetrical SRB placement, SRB thrust and gimbal tweaked? That, or the designers were high at the time... Anyways, thanks for the help everyone! -Slab -
A question about the Atlas V Rocket
SlabGizor117 replied to SlabGizor117's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
But why have it asymmetrical and tweak the thrust in the first place? Wouldn't it be easier to just have it symmetrical like a "normal" rocket? http://i.imgur.com/ZYOTWwT.png -
I'm just kinda confused with the SRBs. How do you fit 5 on symmetrically? This picture, I assume, shows all the different SRB patterns, but that thrust would be extremely assymetrical, I don't understand. Could somebody explain? http://www.wired.com/images_blogs/photos/uncategorized/2008/07/09/atlas_v_family.png Yes, I still don't know how to embed pics, sorry. Thanks for the help, -Slab

Kerbal EVA Crash tolerance?
SlabGizor117 replied to SlabGizor117's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
That's a good point actually... Reminds me of when Scott Manley did an AMA, he said he'd like to go to Io the most, as far as what would be the coolest planet to stand on, although the radiation would kill him fast. Another person commented and said, "Yeah, probably Mars would be better, less radiation and... less cancer." And then a third guy comments and says "You get cancer on Earth too" XD I don't know why I thought that was so funny, but it was... -
What's a Kerbal's impact tolerance? I'm doing some long range EVA-ing on Minmus and wanted to know. Thanks for the help! -Slab

haha, on a side note, I think it's interesting how, at least for me, "lol" has become a word in itself. I never see "lol" and think "Laugh Out Loud" acutally, I never did, but it almost just becomes a word for laughter, not even an acronym... Interesting

Lol, to be honest, I have no idea what most of that meant, I'm very early in Algebra II also, but calculating a suicide burn looks like fun. Sorry if I'm not explaining what I need very well, but I just thought it'd be fun to play around with graphing the curve of thrust vs. mass as you burn fuel(or maybe velocity vs. mass would be better) or whatever else you could graph, I'm not sure. What I mean is, nothing involved, just something to play around with. Thanks for the help though! -Slab

Thanks, but since I don't know how to revert to .25 and would rather not anyways, I think I might try something else. Also, I'm asking more about math than software.

Hey guys, thanks for checking this post out. The other day, my older brother came to me while I was playing KSP of course, and asked me if I wanted to do math together. Now, this was the evening after I had finished my school, including dreaded 1980s A Beka Algebra II book with lessons such as... "Precision in Measurement", which at first glance looks like the unspoken rules of social normalities in Math, equivalent to, for example, the unspoken social rule of when to use "lol" in any common conversation, digital or not. The kind of thing that has a ridiculous amount of importance in common Math, but you just have to learn by reading the crappiest explanation ever and stumbling through how to use it like any other social rule. So, just a quick perspective on Math from me. So, we go to the giant whiteboard in our hallway for this kind of thing, and start factoring polynomials... "just for fun". Another quick note, both my brother and dad are math majors and think it's just the coolest thing ever. Don't get me wrong, it's cool to me too... in KSP. So then, he gets an idea. He looks up physics and math curriculum and came up with just playing with different values of position, speed, acceleration, time, etc. and we graph different speeds and acceleration, on a graph of X Time, and Y Position. Then, we played around with 3 cars: Car A is going slow and speeds up. Car B is going a constant speed the whole time. Car C starts fast and slows down. We graph those, and they all meet at a certain position, and a certain time, and just kinda play around with different aspects of the graph, blah blah blah. Fun stuff. Then, I thought, since my dad is my "Math tutor"(he does a better job than my brother, so most of the time I need him) and works on and off doing contract IT work, sometime's he's here to help, sometimes not. So I figured, when he's not here, I could do some more "fun math". So, I had an idea to play around with graphing values of Thrust to Weight, or TWR to time, as your TWR gets better as time passes from dropping stages or whatever. So, I'm not an expert at graphing these things, so without telling me everything about how it works, how could I do that? again, I assume I could mess around with Y TWR X Time, but how could I do Thrust and Weight? I assume I should get something like Kerbal Engineer to view that as my rocket is in flight. Anyways, what would be some fun ways to mess around with graphing that kind of thing? Thanks for reading! -Slab

Amazing new theory to explain the Kerbol system!
SlabGizor117 replied to gmpd2000's topic in KSP1 Discussion
This is how people say the Big Bang Theory is a fact? -
I joined around .23 I believe, because I think the first update I got was the one before SP+. Also, I got into it from Kurtjmac I follow him and other Mindcrackers and I had seen a few KSP videos around so it looked interesting, and I fell in love with it

No War Thunder? Wow. It's a free to play MMO Flight Sim that goes from 1930s to 1950s aircraft. Americans, for example, start at P-26 Peashooters and end at F-86 Sabres. VERY good game, you would enjoy it. It has a real money currency but playing for free is not limiting at all. Try it, it's a large game, as in, long download, but worth it.

My Kerbin Orbital Outpost and standard launcher!
SlabGizor117 replied to SlabGizor117's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Cool, thanks. Any ideas for interesting first stages? -
I just thought it'd be cool to share my ideas for a small 1.25m station, and as I still don't understand how to embed albums and I'm lazy, here's the link: http://imgur.com/a/c4nJD I'm experimenting with unusual rocket design, so I decided to pull a Falcon 9 and put 8 LV-T30s(Non gimbal 215kN, right?) and a Skipper in the middle. Let me know of any other interesting and unusual rocket designs like this, I had fun building this first stage, as simple as it is. Thanks for checking this out, let me know how to embed albums and if you have any cool unique ideas for rockets! -Slab

What makes the 48-7S so good?
SlabGizor117 replied to SlabGizor117's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Cool, thanks guys! I like having a cluster of 48-7S's too, I haven't done it much yet tho. -
My drone Crew Recovery Plane
SlabGizor117 replied to SlabGizor117's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Thanks for the replies guys, I improved the CRV and made a CRV-WV(Water Variant) for sea recovery, I'll post pics of that too. -
My drone Crew Recovery Plane
SlabGizor117 replied to SlabGizor117's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
I also made a water variant, so far the only thing it can't do is belly land... -
I like the look of drones, so I messed around and came up with this. Sorry I don't know how to embed albums/images, I'm sure you'll live. XD http://imgur.com/a/v7JfD Hope you enjoy! -Slab - - - Updated - - - Update - I'm having problems with my gear on landing where it becomes unstable and wobbles on the runway. I tried rotating the gear in a tiny bit, I guess I'll try out now. Other than that, any suggestions?
