  1. Yeah, it just seems a bit complicated for the style of KSP. Whatever, it's not a bad idea.
  2. Yeah, but it didn't seem to work that way for me. Maybe it was .90 errordynamics, not sure, but originally no amount of control surfaces could keep my 737 from flipping in air right after taking off.
  3. Aahh, I see now, that makes sense. I knew that SRBs had that shape on the inside for more surface area and a thrust curve, but I didn't know that that's what a SRB fuel plug was. So, how would this be implemented, and how would it affect gameplay? It sounds very complicated.
  4. I was looking at the wiki page for planned features, and wondered what this was? I've never heard of it before. Thanks for the help! -Slab
  5. Yeah. One thing I haven't taught myself to do yet is just place the control surface wherever and use rotation and offset to get it in place. Lol, yeah. That makes sense
  6. Too many replies to quote, but thank you so much for the tips and Congrats. Also, MalfunctionM1ke, I usually go by Slab, but thank you! Also, thanks for all the rep, I'm kinda new to the forums so this is exciting for me. XD Also, Vanamonde, thanks for moving it, I wasn't sure where to post. -Slab
  7. Lol, yeah! After the rover I'm gonna send an Apollo style Manned mission with two return landers for Ike and Duna. Gotta get some more practice in with probes first, though!
  8. Haha, thanks man! Good idea! I'm working on sending a rover, too. I have RCS on it this time, so I can do better fine tuning adjustments. I found out that around a 17km Pe did it for my first orbiter.
  9. So, after alot of googling, I launched a probe to orbit Duna for practice in interplanetary transfers, and it worked great! I went from LKO to Duna Prograde orbit(I'll explain later) on two tanks of jet fuel, although I took 6 with me. The one thing I messed up was coming in on the wrong side of Duna and doing a clockwise orbit, so I burned prograde and used a gravity assist with Ike to get a high elliptical orbit, and at my Apoapsis, reversed my orbit, and I still haven't had to jettison my first two drop tanks! Here's the Imgur album, I find that linking it is more clean and organized to look at than the way embedding is now. If you're that lazy, I can embed it, but for now, I'll just link it. http://imgur.com/a/rUY6W Also, I forgot to add Titles and descriptions and crap... oops. I'm working on landing a rover too, I'll post again here just to let you know, and probably post a new main thread for it.

  11. Lol! I keep missing the new posts. yeah, I did 15km, then warped past it at 1,000x because the in-atmosphere 4x limit on time warp decided to take a day off. D:< - - - Updated - - - Wow, Still too low. Maybe 18km this time. - - - Updated - - - Wow, I just remembered the Trajectories mod! Is that updated for 1.0??
  12. Lesson learned, 23km Pe didn't do crap. Trying to save it with a Retro burn, I have tons of fuel. If I reload I'll go for 10-15km. - - - Updated - - - oh, just saw your reply. Yeah, going for 10km I have no parachutes, this is only an orbiter. Looks like I'll have plenty of fuel to use for a Plan B!
  13. Ok, I'm getting towards Duna, but I need to figure out how low to set my Pe without burning up. What did the atmosphere change to on Duna? does 20km sound good? - - - Updated - - - 23km Pe set, hopefully this works out D: - - - Updated - - - Turns out Atmosphere on Duna starts at 50km
  14. Awesome, good idea with the rover, but I'm a whiner about sending kerbals anywhere without knowing what I'm doing, even though I'm playing Sandbox with reverting saves and quickloading XD What's the best way to get my periapsis down for aerobraking and where should my Periapsis be for a balance between aerobraking and reentering? I'm still on 1.0.0 btw, I'm lazy.
  15. I have the very basics figured out with a transfer window planner and everything. My plan is to do a one way trip with a probe and try to orbit Duna. Next land, then rover, then probe return mission, then manned mission. So, how similar is this to docking in the practicing aspect of it, where it becomes second nature? Everything seems so finicky with interplanetary transfers D: Thanks for the help guys! -Slab
  16. Holding a hat for ransom? What has the world come to...
  17. I think you mean, "♫800-588-2300, Empiiirree!Today!♫" One of the very few numbers I know by heart You don't believe him?! I just ordered Mcdonalds Nuggets the other day, and this is what I got! http://www.thisoldtoy.com/fisher-price/dept-7-playsets/i-fun-w-food/1-pics/meat/fpt7055-ckn-nugget.JPG But-but- I love Olive Garden! Off topic, but nice avatar HK-47 is one of my favorite Star Wars characters, he's hilarious Yay, someone that understands! XD I'm glad my rant wasn't shot down right away lol
  18. I hate the news so much, I'm not even sure why, but I do. They sensationalize everything and make idiots out of themselves, I can't even stand to watch it. I don't need to know how many break-ins, murders, and molestations there have been in my town, that information means nothing to me and has no effect. And, when it comes to my areas of expertise, I just wanna put an axe through the TV, because, once again, they make fools out of themselves. When the Antares rocket exploded, some idiot reporter asked whether they were going to have problems with not having enough supplies on the ISS, as if they were going to starve or something. I don't even know why it's so frustrating to me, but It's so obivous that they know how many things can go wrong in a rocket and plan for every scenario, including this. When they resupply the ISS, they still have a month or two's-worth of provisions, just in case. Then, there was that twin engine ATR 72-600 prop plane that crashed in Taiwan, and the news(I don't remember who, probably CNN) lady had an aviation expert there to answer questions, and she asks, "Is this plane generally considered, 'safe'?" And that was the day I vowed never to watch the News voluntarily. No plane meant to carry any living human being EVER makes it off the ground without thousands of tests, codes, and regulations to make sure it's safe in almost all expected situations. I just, hate the news... XD -End rant
  19. I have tried the wet wings, they moved the center of mass forward more though, I had all my fuel in the tail to give that classic airliner aesthetic with the wings placed far back. The Tristar is interesting, but not my goal aesthetics-wise, once again. Thanks for the help! Yeah, that's what I figured. I like your signature XD I don't understand why Squad hasn't fixed that yet. Umm, right.... Gotcha.
  20. One idea I had for a mun/minmus base is to have a "Ferry" rocket with a Nerv on it that can push a payload up to whichever moon and have the payload insert itself in the moon's orbit, then have the ferry aerobrake to get back into a stable Kerbin orbit, ready for it's next payload. you could even have docking port detachable heat shields and refueling ports and stuff, for a resupply mission to rendezvous with the ferry to switch heat shields and refuel it. It may not be the most efficient, but I think it would be fun!
  21. Interesting that it would do that. Slow, radiant heat(I would think) is not near enough to take half of your heat shield, sounds like that needs to be nerfed. Whatever, Reentry heating isn't that bad, I'm sure it won't affect your reentry much.
  22. Well if you still want something to complain to SQUAD about, the wheels don't rotate either. XD
