  1. Yanfret, when testing your rovers and bases, do you pick the same site on the Mun?
  2. Both modders have covered similar spacecraft in their own mods, but these are Raidernick's parts, which are supposed to be as close to the real vehicles as possible, and not stock-alike, like Beale's
  3. What actually happened to raidernick? I left the forums for a bit and just came back to find all his threads were locked at his request. If this is a touchy subject, then I'll retract my question.
  4. Is this a PC exclusive mod? I really hope not. Excited to see how it progresses!
  5. I haven't played KSP in a goodly while due to other distractions, but as always, Yanfret's thread subscription draws me back to the forum and his pretty pictures draw me back to the game. Expect another CMES download from me soon!
  6. Yanfret, what do you suggest putting in those little boxes? I always fill them with KAS containers, they fit nicely and help to bring the pipe pieces to link all my buildings up. Can I also suggest you add a number to the lid of the box corresponding to the number the door animation has? That way, we can be sure we are opening the right box when we only want one opened.
  7. Yepp, though there are bigger concerns on Yanfret and his team's plate right now, I think. That's a further future goal
  8. Oh, I know the costs already, B787! Mjolnir II was a fun project, but shipping it from Boston back to Florida for the launch wasn't fun. Next I plan to build a rocket from scratch. I'll probably look at a mid-power motor, maybe an F or G with motor ejection for the recovery systems.
  9. I am now L2 certified! The guys at SRA, my local club, were really helpful in getting me my test and my paperwork done. It took a long time to set up, but the prep time was all worth it for a perfect flight. Pictures are forthcoming!
  10. Well, I'm packed up and ready for tomorrow. Going to launch Mjolnir II for my Level 2 certification attempt. Will post results here tomorrow night, wish me luck!
  11. I can certainly try! Which habitat modules are to be included in the next version of CM, so I can reference them with what I have in your last release?
  12. Happy to be involved, Yanfret! Another request, because this is what we do. I'd love to see you draw some quick sketches, even if its with a pen on a napkin, of what you think the interiors of your habitat parts look like, how many floors and where the ladders lead. I don't know if you've thought about it, but I'd like to see what you can come up with!
  13. Its a fibreglass 54mm mount, with a 38mm adapter. I use aerotech reload casings right now, don't have a huge collection of motor tubes yet
  14. Resurrecting the resurrection thread! My level 2 rocket is being worked on actively again, the build is done and I'm working on paint at the moment. Here's a rough idea of what it'll look like. Don't worry about the stability info if it looks off to you, still configuring the rocket in OpenRocket. Going to fly it on an Aerotech J350: Edit: So far the whole rocket is nice and white, the nosecone is bright red and the upper tube has its red coat done.
  15. Gotta agree with Kibble on the first point. We've got SLS for now and I think there's no going back, so might as well commit and give the SLS the space industry and public's support. There's no doubt that it's indeed a little porky, but lets work with what we got and hope that in the future the leadership of our space industry is more interested in the stars and less in their immediate constituency I like classical mythology names, though. No need to move off from those
  16. Heh, maybe! I'm not entirely sure what kind of payload we'll be carrying when we fly. And thanks for the encouragement, architeuthis!
  17. This is a shameless self-advertisement, but what the hell. We've been around for a while and I wanted to share our project with my favourite forums. I'm a Boston University student and since the beginning of the year have been part of the school's Rocket Propulsion Group. We specialise in hybrid rockets and have built a 30-ft tall rocket, a testing hybrid to practice working with thrust vectoring technologies, and all the ground support electronics, hardware and software to ensure our launch is the safest it can be. We aim to be the first amateur, college-student group to get to space, and with a hybrid rocket no less. Our team has some incredible people on it and their work really deserves to be mentioned. So please, check out our website and look around. I'll hang around this thread to answer any questions I can. Enjoy our site at your leisure!
  18. The extra attention is getting me motivated. College exams are getting really close, but ill give the launchpad abother try if I find a chance!
  19. The stars and stripes, I'm sure, are just promotional stuff. Its a model, so I suspect the actual rocket will fly unpainted or minimally painted
  20. Or perhaps split into two packs: launchers (plus Orion) and then payloads?
  21. Any chance we'll get customisable fairings for recreating all the NROL launches? Or maybe at least the coolest ones included in the pack already?
  22. Not to mention doing something like this would help its reputation as a major player in the development and exploration of space.
