[1.8-1.12] TextureReplacer 4.5.3 (8.2.2022)
Goddess Bhavani replied to shaw's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Doh, the normal map is backwards. I fixed that but forgot to take new screens. Lol! Cute! Am I the only one here who likes the overdone makeup and lipstick in one of the old head texture packs? It's hilarious to show people. Would like to request for one or two of those :3 -
The Oscar-B Awards! (Results Are Out!!)
Goddess Bhavani replied to BagelRabbit's topic in Kerbal Network
Those dang machines. I swear, this is not the first time they've tried to take over! They always know the perfect time to fail, and its when you need them most. No problem at all on the extension, if anything, it is a good opportunity to get a few more noms in for lesser-viewed or new channels - red carpets for all! -
Thanks very much guys for the pointers on Rotatron action group usage the other day. I have completed my first IR Rework helicopter, albeit with some of the joint parts facing the wrong way, due to a case of burning midnight oil in the SPH and working with a small screen in the dead of night. The end result is a flying house of horrors, a Mosquito of Doom that has sent many a plane-spotter near KSC packing at the sight of this... thing rising forth silhouetted before the dying light of dusk. The joints are reversed but it still works fine though... I guess with the entire mass of the craft hanging from the rotors during flight there doesn't seem to be much side effect.

Kerman KE-2 "Mosquito" Multi-Mission Synchropter Built in KSP Version 1.0 / 1.02 with Infernal Robotics Rework and TweakScale Craft file available at KerbalX. The sight of this hellish machine rising up from dusk's dying light had probably struck dread into the hearts of many a poor plane-spotter in the vicinity of the Space Center. It's true purpose is however, much less sinister than it looks, as the KE-2 "Mosquito" is meant to be a crew transportation helicopter with a secondary airdrop capability for sensor probes; its payload bay would in due course deploy dropsondes for research and dipping sensors for (imaginary) maritime operations. I think the machine has enough lift capacity for a ton or three of payload, as per the below flight demonstration video flown in 'clean' configuration was most eager to climb away with the slightest increase of collective. The helicopter takes to the air by way of tandem intermeshing rotors, earning it the moniker of synchropter like the excellent Kaman K-MAX. This is my second synchropter design, the first being a much more primitive affair without rotor articulation and meant as an /parody.The rotor control systems, namely the animated and functional collective pitch and cyclic controls bound to and supplemental to the WASD keys, are courtesy of Infernal Robotics Rework components. The craft is not difficult to fly, unlike my 0.90 ships. Gentle application of collective and cyclic prevents the craft from over-rotating, while the synchropter is fully capable of precision hover thanks to being able to adjust its velocity precisely, using jet thrust. Be wary to always ensure the fuel cell is turned ON, lest you lose power to the rotors when the batteries are depleted.

My first helicopter in KSP 1.0/1.02 looks like a Mosquito of Doom

I couldn't live without TR in Beta and I'm looking forward to your pack! Since Squad gave you permission, might as well make that extra suit! -

Goddess Bhavani replied to NecroBones's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
In the year 21XX, war was begin. KATS: How are you gentlemen. All your beef are belong to us. You have no chance to eat. Make your time. NECROBONES: Someone set us up the KFC! Lunch all bacon! For great ketchup! You know what you grilling! Add on every cheese! -
[1.0.5 - 1.4] Burger Mod! 0.4 (2016-04-25)
Goddess Bhavani replied to NecroBones's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Radially folding lettuce! Who would have thought of mimicking nature! At the same time why not have a donut on a stick as a science experiment? These researchers from Sweden actually did it in real life! Swedish researchers sent a donut into space, and it's stunningly beautiful At the same time why not a Potato fuel tank? -
[1.0.5 - 1.4] Burger Mod! 0.4 (2016-04-25)

Oh dear, I now have a new career strategy of building food themed spacecraft. Hey, anyone tested if the Bacon Strips can survive re-entry or do they shrivel up and become really, really delicious and fragrant? -
[1.0.5 - 1.4] Burger Mod! 0.4 (2016-04-25)
Goddess Bhavani replied to NecroBones's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I sort of already used it in 1.0 for my first episode of "Valentina drives...." The mother of all food trucks. I am doubly glad this thread got resurrected as I did not want to necro it I was aware of that but simply rotated and offset all the buns manually. I thought the issue arose cos I build the food truck chassis first and burger last, in effect bottom up assembly. -
Your KSP "preflight checks" or funny rituals :)
Goddess Bhavani replied to Goddess Bhavani's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Just curious, I heard engaging the SAS immediately nullifies the trim setting. How does it work? -
Burger Mod in Motion, with Valentina's food truck. Not just any food truck, the Mother of All Food Trucks, the McDuna Cheese Cruiser!
-
I spent most of the day building the mother of all food trucks for Valentina so she'd have something to do between space missions. But it isn't quite stock... with those tomato wheels! (Burger Mod and Infernal Robotics)
-
I thought to play with minimal mods for a while and re-created my old Army truck designs with stock parts. Man, it was quite a challenge without the versatility of TweakScale! The truck doesn't look as good as my previous offerings, but at least you don't need to hunt for 7+ mods to run it Feel free to drive it around, crash it, have a party in the bed, launch a rocket from it, or just download it for when you need a truck. Download from KerbalX

Everyone else was trying the aero, the re-entry heating, the astronaut stuff... I just built a truck.

My first craft in KSP 1.0 is a massive McDuna "Land Cruiser" mobile restaurant. I thought to give Valentina a side business between gallant spaceflight ventures, and recently stumbled on the ridiculously funny Burger Mod. There are a few more pics of this madness on imgur: http://imgur.com/a/WeXSx
-
I decided our gallant new kerbonauts should have something to do between spaceflights - today I was thinking about food related subjects and few KSP players to date have tackled the problem/opportunity of setting up commercial food establishments to feed all the hungry scientists working overnight. I also recently stumbled upon an awfully cute mod with 2.5m burger (!!!) modules. No seriously, it's called the Burger Mod and everyone should download it right meow! Without further ado, I used my newfound Kerbal Truck Simulator specialized knowhow to construct a rolling chassis strong enough to support a restaurant on wheels. And not just any wheels, tomato and onion wheels! Full album on imgur: http://imgur.com/a/WeXSx

Your KSP "preflight checks" or funny rituals :)
Goddess Bhavani replied to Goddess Bhavani's topic in KSP1 Discussion
No kidding! I used to be that way when I took flight sims seriously in my younger days. I also liked to have a bunch of mates in close contact before (virtual) squadron competitions, both to ensure I knew who are the guys that would watch each others' backs in a dogfight, and to get them in the right mood for spending the next few hours / most of the day running virtual campaigns. These days I mostly just play KSP exclusively, so I would read up on articles on space exploration similar to what I'm flying for the day just to get in the mood. -
I didn't follow earlier Squad releases but do they usually occur after midnight (now?) or "the next morning"?
