Ага, спасибо. «Стартовая масса ракеты», «сухая масса ракеты» гуглятся.

Серьёзно? Я имелл в виду массу аппарата вместе с топливом.

А как по-русски будет dry mass и wet mass?

[1.9.x] EVA Enhancements Continued

Exactly. I experience the same navball behavior as in stock: When controlling a vessel, the navball doesn’t follow the camera. It follows the vessel. But when controlling a Kerbal, the navball follows the camera, not the Kerbal. Is it possible to make the navball follow the Kerbal? -

Cargo Soyuz rockets are launched from Kourou. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soyuz_at_the_Guiana_Space_Centre Is it possible to launch a crewed Soyuz spaceship from there? -
At least, I’m working on a new entry now.

[1.9.x] EVA Enhancements Continued

Is there a way to make the nav ball follow the Kerbal position, not the camera? -
Hi! I have a computer with an Core i5 3470 3.2 GHz processor with graphics capability (Intel HD Graphics 2500) and a P8H77-M LE motherboard with no discrete graphics card. EVE with either default or your configs performs slowly — about 5 fps om Kerbin. Could you advice, which parameters in the EVE configuration menu should I try to adjust to improve the performance on my machine? (Here’s the log file if needed: KSP 1.2.2 x64 Para-Sci High-Performance Atmosphere Pack log) P.S. In KSP 1.1.x, EVE with the default configs performed smoothly for me.

Is it possible to add MechJeb to the EAS-1 External Command Seat? Is it possible to enable MechJeb information windows on every craft (even debris without any command parts)?
-
Now I realize that I could do better. I could get rid of the probe core and replace two Z-200 batteries with one Z-100. I performed every maneuver at the light side (well, except for one, but I could avoid that). Four solar panels allow the ion engine work at 90% thrust (1.8 kN) without any battery. Alternatively, I could have 3 or 2 solar panels and an additional battery. Less xenon, less LfO. I think, the total mass could be lowered to 4 tons.

I did. I placed a drogue chute under the pilot seat. The craft was destroyed when splashed down, but I dropped Valentina off her seat a few meters before, and she survived. Apparently, I could use the MK-16 chute instead and make a soft landing of the craft. It’s only 25 kg heavier. Or I could place a TR-2V decoupler between the craft and the seat with the drogue chute. I’d landed the Kerbal softly, and it’s only 15 kg. I had been afraid of adding more mass, but it turned out that I had some 900 m/s of spare Δv.

I do not like the idea of signatures under each message very much. So I turned them off. However, people often reference to them (‘see link in my sig’), and it isn’t very convenient go to the settings and switch the ‘show signatures’ trigger to read one. Is it possible to add the user’s signature to their profile page? Or, maybe, it is already there, and I just haven’t found it?

Maybe, 3.2 m/s² is the maximum acceleration with almost empty tanks while 3 m/s² being the average? If so, we know the dry mass: mdry = F / adry = 270 N / 3.2 m/s² = 84 kg. Isp = F Δt / (mwet − mdry) = 270 N ∙ 200 s / (94 kg − 84 kg) = 5400 m/s. Isp g₀ = Isp / g₀ = 5400 m/s / 9.81 m/s² = 550 s. Too high! Something must be wrong here.

In the video, you can see the resource panel. I’ve taken away some LfO. I also could skimp on Xenon though — some spare Δv has left. 94 kg as MechJeb says. Yes, the Kerbal’s mass is included. The craft is 4.895 t in VAB. Wow! I didn’t think about it. I could jettison the EVA kit fuel as I don’t use it. Hm… What is the mass per unit of the EVA propellant? MechJeb reports no difference in mass between full and empty backpack. Here’s my craft: https://kerbalx.com/Teilnehmer/Pshik

Hm… Well… OK…

The Ultimate Level. 0.625 m parts only. Under 5 t of mass (4.989 t). No refueling. No docking. No Hyperedit, no autopilot mods (MechJeb used for info and node editing only). No debug menu, no cheating etc.

Если правильно понял вопрос, то это клавишей [ё] делается по умолчанию в 1.2.2, а в предыдущих версиях — бекспейсом.

Rover–satellite collision
Teilnehmer replied to Teilnehmer's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
OK, I meant a rover basically. Forget the ground base. No points. Just fun. -
Make a catastrophic collision between a satellite (in a stable orbit around whichever celestial body you like) and a rover or a ground base (on the surface of the body)! Mods are welcome! (except HyperEdit) Screenshots are OK, but videos are preferable.

CKAN (The Comprehensive Kerbal Archive Network); v1.28.0 - Dyson

Hi! Now, when the mods in the GUI are sorted by the ‘Installed’ column, installed mods (☑) go first, then, not installed (☐), and after them, incompatible (-) and auto-detected (AD) ones are mixed together. Is it possible to make AD go before (or directly after) the installed mods? -

3 parts are enough to get into Mun’s orbit from KSC. See this challenge. Why did you need RCS? -
Digit grouping could be useful here: × 1 000 × 10 000 × 100 000 × 1 000 000 (E.g. 3-digit groups delimited by spaces as in the international SI/ISO 31-0 standard.)

Hi! Great mod, thanks! Is it possible to show the warp factor instead of those triangles in the top-left-corner panel? Maybe, in exponential notation for values ≥ 10³. Like this:
