  1. That would be cool! I was thinking just another part like an agena probe core that's just a KIS container and nothing else. On a side note new dev build broke my career . I guess antenna's have been tweaked a bit...
  2. Awesome. Glad to hear. Yeah I think Agena would make a great early resupply craft. Hopefully things do settle into a normal schedule for you. and yes quotes look weird for you.
  3. I use KIS/KAS all the time and I think BDB works, but broke some features. I have packed and manhandled BDB parts with my Kerbal Engineers, but ever since I started using BDB I can no longer stack parts in KIS Inventories. Especially small parts like RCS thrusters or static solar panels can't be stacked anymore. I figured it was a KIS problem, but would using BDB parts without a config do this? I should ask on the KIS forum, but doesn't TRAILS have KIS inventory? His old Gemini did. It would be nice to see some more functionality in BDB for KIS. Maybe an advanced Agena with a KIS container for early game restocking/orbital construction? Which brings me to my next point... Re: Apollo. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited for the Apollo stuff you will do, this might be the only mod where we have ALL the Apollo Applications Program stuff and different rocket combinations. But I am totally ok waiting, until next year even, until we get your awesome MOL and Gemini Lander first. I'm super excited about that MOL station. I want to have a crazy advanced MOL/Skylab program to rival the early Salyut/Almaz stuff I do with Tantares parts. Please Please Please finish that stuff before moving to Apollo. EDIT: Will your new dev update work with 1.0.5 still? I'm not gonna do the Steam Pre release and I'm waiting for less buggy version. Besides I don't want to begin a new career without my favorite mods so I'm gonna be on 1.0.5 for a while longer yet. Thanks.
  4. OMG Thank you so much. I was looking in the part config before, I needed to be in the resource folder, thank you for steering me in the right direction. It's working now! Side Note: I don't use Steam LOL @Beale & @CobaltWolf & @VenomousRequiem & @Any Tantares/BDB collaborators : An idea I had is that, since Gemini is being incorporated into BDB (I think, or will it always be a standalone as TRAILS?) maybe some technology transfer can happen. Earlier it was brought up that some Soviet probes are being made in BDB, maybe they should be gifted to Tantares once finished? Maybe some weird size rockets (1.5m or 1.875m) could be made for Tantares to represent stuff like Dnepr and Tsiklon in between Soyuz and Proton? Anyway just a thought. It makes me so happy you all collaborate so much.
  5. Well I'm not sure what to do. In the cfg file it says "experimentActionName = Measure moisture" which looks like what it should be. I didn't see anything else that linked it to the IRSpec experiment. So not sure what to do. Is anyone else having this when they run the Hydrometer experiment it says Observe IR Spectrum instead?
  6. Nice manual. There was a couple of things I hadn't tried yet as well as helpful instructions (like ditch the Atlas booster engines around 20-20km), but there was something in this manual which bothered me. In Appendix B regarding name origins it says: "Brun - Derived from the name ‘Braun’, of ‘von Braun’ fame. Vanguard was von Braun’s project." Now that I know where the name came from I must change it to the IRL name, because that's wrong. Von Braun was never involved with Vanguard, he was with the Army and his projects were Redstone and Jupiter. The Navy was the Vanguard project, and the only reason Vanguard was developed was to have an alternative to the "Naz i Rockets" the Army was using. The Air Force's Atlas wasn't online yet (although being tested) when Sputnik happened, otherwise they would have used Atlas to launch the first USA satellite. I always wondered where the name "Brun" came from in this mod, and now I feel it's.......inappropriate for the Vanguard and Able parts. Sorry to be such a nit pick. On to something else, I finally figured out something that has been bothering me for a while, The Infrared Spectrometer and the Hydrometer have the same experiment name, but they are 2 separate experiments with different flavor text in the same biome. I use Science Alert and I couldn't figure out why i could do the experiment twice in the same biome, and have been wondering for a while when I'm going to see this moisture experiment that I keep bringing along. So yeah, is there a way I can change the experiment name in the cfg file? Don't want to break anything.
  7. OMG is this what I think it is? I just started using RealPlume, does this give plumes to Tantares? If so what folder to I put it into? Sorry for being a Noob at plumes. EDIT: Also nice Gemini update @Beale I'm a bit confused where this will end up, or if this is it's new home, but in any case the model looks great. Wondering why you can't use your old Gemini IVA though..... Keep up the great work. EDIT 2: @VenomousRequiem sorry i got too excited. I see now the plume config is just for the service module LOL
  8. Hey @Beale since it seems you are getting into weird off sizes (which are becoming so much more accepted thanks to BDB) do you plan to make any 1.5m or 1.875m stuff to possibly make Kosmos, Tsiklon, Dnepr rockets? That would be super cool since to my knowledge no one has made those rocket parts for KSP yet. If you do not, no worries, but if you do my admiration and respect for you will have no bounds.
  9. That's Deep. I usually Kerbal together a version of this with the existing R-7 parts and either use a stock engine or a 1.25m single nozzle BDB engine as a replacement for the NK-33. I launch this version in career's before the actual R-7 with boosters. All we would need would be an NK-33 or equivalent ( RD-0162 or RD-0164 ) in Tantares to make it a mod exclusive right?
  10. Loving the new release. I find myself building Scout rockets with all these new solids. I only wish that some of them could be radially attached. Like the Topaz for the Diamant. But then again once the next tech node is unlocked I kind of forget about them. LOL
  11. Just found a bug. Some Payload fairings aren't showing up in game, even though they exist on the tech tree. Inon fairing and the Promethus fairings.
  12. Personally I like the texture, but in my opinion it sticks out too far, I'd rotate it so that the long end is the attachment point. Just my two cents.
  13. Looks like it's working now. Trying out the HAPS first, also is the Staara-10 "Aethra" new? I didn't notice it before with the other Staara solids. The smaller file size is definitely helping things out, my game isn't lagging as much and it seems to me the textures are blending even better with stock and Tantares parts. Thank you for your hard work BDB crew.
  14. Well crap. I deleted the folder and installed the latest build and my game won't load. I'll wait patiently for next commit.
  15. Oh okay. I didn't realize the 45k verniers didn't work. I knew there was a reason I was preferring the 6K, I just couldn't place it. So if i download the current github will it break anything from the dev build I downloaded yesterday? EDIT: I'm not using Real Plume yet. I've been intimidated to try it. EDIT 2: Actually I realize now you want us to try to find bugs. downloading now. I'll report any problems.
  16. Wait the Juno engines are broken now? I've been using them a lot. Do you just mean the RP configs or the parts themselves?
  17. HAHAHA I thought I was the only one! I like to call such a contraption the ClusterF*** 7 or ClusterF*** 70X depending on how many boosters it gets Although now I'm thinking of calling it "Unholy Aggragate 666" or something along those lines.
  18. @VenomousRequiem Well in any case, as it is, I'm still hyped about it. Next career game I start I want this rocket to fulfill my "launch your first vessel" contract. Solid or liquid I will be very happy whatever way you go with it.
  19. Reminds me of the WAC that @Beale worked on for his Taerobee Mod. Looks awesome already and I can't wait to have it in game. Although I have one small request with this. The real Wac-Corporal had the solid 1st stage Corporal rocket, which you have labeled as Small Sam (I like it), but what you have labeled as a Sustainer SRB, in real life was a liquid fueled rocket. Solid bottom, liquid top. I think it would make a great addition to BDB, and my only other addition to this would be a Brun tank that starts at 0.625m and tapers up to 0.325m ( or 0.300m, whatever size the baby Sergeant decouplers already are), why? So i can build V-2/Hermes/Bumper rockets. Love the new Solids! Of course my first test launch I tried to fly all 4 on the same rocket, but quickly realized that wouldn't work I really like them though, I feel like its really completing the early US rocketry with these solid upper stages. I'm constantly amazed by everyone's work here at BDB to produce these parts. Although so far my favorites are the later STARR models (round ones) especially the auto-shrouds, everything just fits together so well.
  20. Sorry is this in your GitHub or a DropBox? What link for these new parts? EDIT: Nevermind, I found an old link to your Github and I see the recent stuff. Gonna try it out now.
  21. @Beale I just want to include my support for you and echo the previous statements. Don't worry about the flipping for now. I have to compensate on stock rockets just as much as Tantares rockets with RCS, SAS, and fins to prevent the issue. Lots of variables go into it, for each rocket, but I think this issue is on Squad's end too. But the beauty of all this is, 1.1 will be coming out soon, there will be a whole new set of variables, so fixing the problem now may break the game later, or waiting for squad now may fix the problem later. I'm sure I don't know what I'm talking about, but I would be very very very sad to not have your continued mod in future versions of the game. When Bobcat went MIA I thought I would never play a decent Russian mod pack again, and your mod appeared like a shining beacon of hope to us all. Your parts are invaluable to my game, I use at least one part from your mod on every spacecraft I build. Please continue. Take advantage of us as your beta testers, let us help you in any way we can. Take as much personal time away from this as you need at all times so you don't get frustrated, or worse, lose interest.
  22. Out of curiosity, what is the heaviest payload (including the payload fairing) the people on this thread have been able to get away with on the Soyuz (with Block I second stage, and either a Block E or Fregat 3rd stage) ? I just started using Kerbal Engineer and don't have to guess how heavy my payload is anymore, but so far I haven't launched anything more than 1,800 kg in my current career, although I know I've launched bigger stuff in the past with Tantares Soyuz.
  23. Thank you. LOL Well I will be happy to keep flying this in your full release. It's weird to fly it without flames right now, but I'm eager to try out Black Prince 3 (BP Heavy?) with Centaur. I'm on the fence about you making your own Centaur, I would request that it have the same amount of power as BDB's so that neither is more OP than the other, and the choice of which one to use (for players using both mods) comes down to which texture they prefer for whatever rocket being built.
  24. 1. No stripes on Able tanks, I like them just the way they are. 2.Something I would really like to see for Ablestar tanks is a new payload fairing for the top that widens out to 1.25m (like the Able payload fairing that extends out to 0.938m), and maybe even an engine fairing at the bottom so we could swap out the engine for any 1.25m engine (like your Juno upper stage engines), plus IRL it seems to widen at the bottom anyway, not quite to the same size as the top of the Thor tank, but it is there. They seemed to have AbleStar's that widened at the top and bottom from Delta E onwards until they started using the Delta-K upper stage. 3. As for Probes I would like to see more Russian probes. My career game has tons of Explorers, Discovery's, Telestar's, Pioneers, Mariners, but only a handful of Sputnik's. As for what probes i have no idea. Something i really like about your new probes is they have integrated science experiments not all your probes have the same experiments. For simple spacecraft having all these different variations gives them a purpose and use. But honestly any more than 2-3 probes and I would probably just end up using my favorites while others collect dust. 4. Interstages, I have no idea on textures, but I was wondering if an idea I had was possible: On your new 1.25m engines for Juno (especially upper stages) is it possible to "tweak" the interstage fairing so that it could be either 1.25m OR 0.938m? It would be sweet to use them on Ablestar, Agena, any small tank without having to tweakscale the engine down to that size. If not possible then ignore this, but if it is possible.......
