  1. It's unlikely. Kerbol's radiation isn't powerful enough to have that much of an effect that far away, especially on a massive gas giant. I tried experimenting with colouring it and it's a nightmare, but after applying it to Olu'um I think it would leave people slightly confused, sorry
  2. Ahhh I thought the atmosphere came into it somewhere, but a google search returned otherwise. I just searched again and found it's electrons VS the air that causes it. But Sheathe technically has all that dust floating about doesn't it (Kinda simulated it with EVE). Nothing overly dense, but hey. I'll see how an aurora looks on it and decide based on that! This occurs in stars, but won't work for Olu'um (KSP limitations prevent me from adding a light source to Olu'um because it's not a star) So from that, it doesn't produce light:
  3. Whoa! As well as looking awesome, that helps me quite a lot! In the images I can see that Telos slips inside its magnetosphere for about a third of its orbit (or so). Perhaps this explains why Telos' atmosphere is so thin even though its quite heavy - being outside the magnetosphere/magnetic field means that it loses all its protection and its atmosphere is exposed to Kerbol's solar wind?
  4. Because it's a sub-star (hot Jupiter, if you like), the closer you get to the top layer of the atmosphere, the hotter it becomes, because the heat from the giant is mixed with the heat reflected from the sun by the atmosphere. Below the top layer, the giant actually gets cooler until around 10% of the way down where it heats up again. From this you could imagine Olu'um has a violent atmosphere, because heat creates convection currents and high winds. You could argue the atmosphere isn't as violent because the temperature is generally equal even on the day-night sides. This is because the top layer reflects the sun much more than a regular atmosphere, so the temperature is uniform further down. In short, I think the atmosphere definitely turns 1 in one definitive direction, and that would help with the magnetic field. (Plus auroras look nice )
  5. From jupiter: "Jupiter's magnetic field is larger, complex and up to ten times the strength of Earth's. Jupiter's magnetic field is thought to arise from electrical currents emanating from a rapidly spinning, metallic hydrogen interior" And so the same applies to Olu'um. It's hot enough and the giant spins, therefore the core must also spin, creating a magnetic field Short answer = yes, even though I never clarified what Olu'um's core was made of!
  6. Next moon is done! And a nice screenshot from Niebietos: And above is a gorgeous picture of Telos inspired by @Kottabos when he did his amazing review! (Credit to @The White Guardian for creating the awesome cloud textures
  7. What do you mean by that? I think having a very flat world would be... reasonably boring to land on - terrain variation is key! What other land features would you like to see?
  8. I've narrowed the search for the issue down a little. After removing the planet from the Scatterer configs, the issue goes away. Although that's not what I want, this is what the planet should look like: However in the orbital view it's an entirely different story, which, for some reason, only occurs for this planet in particular. As you can see, the terrain and oceans are not visible. It's as if a blanket of white has been layered over the planet. I'll mess with some of the post-processing and reflectiveness settings, but both this scatterer config and another planets' config are identical (apart from the atmosphere colour). EDIT: I managed to resolve this by setting up a config: @Body[Niebos] { useOnDemand = false }

  10. I'm getting some issues unique to this planet. I have an inkling it is Scatterer causing this, but I also have EVE. It's some sort of white, covering texture - it's deeply confusing me, since no amount of tinkering, re-making and adjusting of the atmosphere resolves this issue. Then again, I could be overthinking this. It may be a scatterer issue, a config issue, or the planet's config - I don't know, there are too many configs! Any help would be appreciated. If you need configs, just ask and I'll send the necessary ones.
  11. Your link is invalid. When sending the link, make sure you press 'share' next to the file you are trying to send, then past the link it provides here.
  12. Auroras! EDIT: In the release they will be a bit brighter than that below
  13. I might also add a magnetic field (aurora) around either Sheathe or thelai as there both composed of a metal core. It might look a little wonky because of a lack of atmosphere, but what do you think?
  14. I've noticed that as well. And for Sheathe, too. It's been fixed for tomorrow night's release! How so? If you are not worthy, who is?
  15. I'm starting to brush up on the EVE effects by adding auroras to the planets. Along with @The White Guardian's awesome new cloud textures, all of the planets look a lot nicer and cleaner, apart from Volux. Volux is still polluted. But apart from that (horrible) joke, I reckon the planets look a ton nicer with these small changes, so I hope you enjoy them
  16. Reworking Fume's terrain. Its north pole is completely oceanic, and its singular supercontinent is cracked at the sides! (Also changing its atmospheric colour, don't expect it to be as green)!
  17. Gonna report a bug. When looking at the accretion disk from above it spins the correct way, however looking at the disk from below reverses the texture and looks like it's spinning the wrong way.
  18. Hey all! A new trailer for the mod is out, since it's changed ton since the last one!
  19. The Global Flight Indexes are in order for the new update so I hope that has an effect on it. Quarta is off in the thousands. Maybe that doesn't have anything to do with it? Maybe it does - you'll need to let me know. If all else fails, let contract weighting do its thing! PS: If you feel like there are not enough biomes for the planets, I can probably change that soon
  20. Hey all! Going to be making some planets today, but this time it's Live! Join me here: https://www.twitch.tv/gameslinx
  21. I'm still getting a few rogue missions telling me to haul my butt over to Olu'um. but they're now graded as 3 star missions. I only got these after landing on the Mun and Olei and Olemut, so I hope it's more balanced. Got some for Niebos as well.
