  1. CSA Contares 'CORE' contains most of components that are used across all CSA Contares Sub-Mods. SUB-Mods: comming soon CAS Contares 'BYOSSM' medium part sub-mod; Build Your Own Space Station Modul CSA Contares 'CORE' includes: Interstage Adapters Docking Ports (10 different Types most inspired by terrestrian stuff) Antennas Radars and Scanner (Compatible with ScanSat) SAS Modules RCS Thrusters Truss components Airbags / Floater Fairings TAC-LS components RTG modules Solar panels (inspired by Chinese, Russian, Japanese and European types) Paraglider Parachutes and Drogue-Chutes Pivoting wings (inspired by Baikal-Booster) Skids and Landing Legs ... more What you get with CSA Contares 'CORE' and the Sub-Mods? All objects are created as accurately as possible on a 50% scale. 50% scale means 1/2 of the size, 1/4 of the thrust, 1/8 of the weight. Further adjustments are due to the physical properties of the Kerbal universe. Reference diameters are 0.3125m, 0.625m, 0.9375m, 1.25m, 1.5m, 1.5625m, 1.875m, 2.1875m, 2.2m (ESA Parts only), 2.5m, 3.75m and 5.0m. Inquiries regarding diameters are superfluous by the effort of simple head calculations or a calculator. Fuel tanks designed for use with Contares LH2/LOX engines contain significantly less fuel. Fuel tanks which do not contain an entry for LH2/LOX in the description as well as all stock tanks should be set to 30% Liquid Fuel/Oxidizer when combined with Contares LH2/LOX engines. Regarding the arrangement of parts in the techtree there is certainly still much to steer. This work i am glad to leave to ambitious users because i personally have no interest in career or scientific mode. Required mods: - Installation of RealPlume (contained engines use this engine effects mod only) RealPlume is out of support - Installation of Waterfall (engine plumes now all use Waterfall effects) - Installation of Tweakscale (change size of parts;reduces unnecessary duplication of standard parts; actualli not realy compatible but it's work!) - Installation of RetractableLiftingSurface (Module which allows you to have a folding wing or other retractable lifting surface; used on Paraglider and Baikal-Booster Wings and Dream Crusher Wings) - Installation of Firespitter (Plugins only; allows Texture switching, Prop-Animations and more; used on UNION parts; more to come) - Installation of USI-Tools (Plugin used for floaters and inflatable [air]bags) - Installation of DMagic's Module Science Animate - Installation of ModuleDepthMask Supported mods: - RemoteTech Patch supported by @fwdixon and @Cheesecake (only partially supported, needs update) - ScanSat - Connected Living Space Patch supported by @Rissa (needs update) - DMagic Orbital Science - TACLS (TAC Life support) - Procedural Fairings - KIS and KAS (Many Capsules, Spaceplanes and Storage-Modules use KIS) Kerbal Inventory System and Kerbal Attachment System Download: Download via SpaceDock Thanks to: @fwdixon (RemoteTech MM patch), @Beale (initial advice), @CobaltWolf (suggestions for textures), @Well (support on Dassault Hermes and Ariane), @Cheesecake (for some TechTree and RemoteTech support), @Rissa (Patch for 'Connected Living Space') Use your imagination! Contares Rules: Rule 1: Do not ask of others something you would not do yourself. Rule 2: The desire for mod compatibility must include the readiness to act for this desire. Rule 3: If there are more complex issues to discuss, ask me via PM in my native language German. Licence: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 Versions / Update
  2. Uh ... wow! Thanks for the message, I completely missed it.
  3. what? Was soll diese unverständliche Kurzbemerkungen nur bedeuten?
  4. Right, HullCamVDS is limited in its function by the KSP engine and only partially usable. But with some imagination not quite as useless as described by you. At least it gives the user a visual impression of the function, always better then the visual impression of KerbNet! Sure it would be nicer there would be a photo reconnaissance mod, similar to ScanSat, in which correctly returned sequential photo shots would be marked on a planet map as enlightened areas and would be rated according to the degree of resolution and the age. (A greeting to @DMagic at this point )
  5. The window texture for objects like CIDAS docking port and others have already been exchanged and will be delivered with the sub mods. There is no realistic texture for windows. The task of windows and thus their most important feature is to be transparent. Mirror effects and light refraction effects result from the angle of incidence of light and the amount of light which is reflected, scattered by the window material itself, and reflected by the surfaces behind it due to the color of the reflection surface. Further effects may result from coatings and special window surface treatments. If you take the trouble to look closer at the photos of spacecraft in orbit you will find that in most cases they appear highly transparent, black or, due to the colors in the interior, very dark blue. The typical texture and color used on KSP stock parts only look pretty because all the windows are bordered by a black border. The texture used by BDB loses its charm when, as in the case of the stock parts, the dark contrast is missing.
  6. The idea with HullCamVDS to work is tempting, but you should not forget that the simulated systems have not transmitted images by radio. Exactly that is the interesting thing about these old systems, the film material has to be brought back and saved by means of capsule after the overflight of the areas to be photographed. Nevertheless, it would be nice if you could provide a patch in which the camera orientation also corresponds to the direction of the camera part.
  7. Depending on the operating mode of KSP, the latest log file 'Output-log.txt' can be found in the directory '[KSP installation]\KSP_DATA' (32 bit) or '[KSP installation]\KSP_X64_DATA' (64 bit). For almost every crash, a crash-log directory is created in the main directory of KSP which contains both date and time in the name, here is a copy of Output_log.txt and a memory dump. The error leading to the crash of KSP can usually be easily found by searching the log backwards for the term 'exception' and/or 'error' start at end of the document.
  8. The "wiring harness", like all other components of Russian inspired laucher and spacecraft, is released in its own sub mod. However, that will take some time. Next point is the CORE mod which contains all components which are used in all sub mods. These include SAS modules, decouplers, docking ports, antennas, universal solar panels and other items.
  9. Your message is the first one of its kind. Are you sure you want to run the right ModuleManager version? You may want to look into the Output_log.cfg to determine the problem. Given the size of Contares 1.8.9, a look at the available memory is certainly appropriate. Running too many part-mods can lead to a bottleneck. Btw: Contares 1.8.9 and CSA Contares 'NBS' are not compatible.

  11. Are there ways and means of manually setting a research target (such as a waypoint) on a planet and exploring it by specifying an orbital altitude without using a crew? If so, how can the knowledge be rewarded by such an exploration?
  12. Kindly contact the manufacturer of KSP to make the research system more dynamic, configurable and realistic. If appropriate scientific experiments are possible Contares implements this gladly. Until then, 'EYE' accesses the KerbNet and allows optical exploration of Biome.
  13. If you do not want to install RealPlume, then skip it and forego more realistic visual effects on many engines. As a lecturer many years ago said: "Try it, it can be wrong at most".
  14. Insight into the version 1.0.0 is only against the submission of the beautiful pink tongue of this cute mutt, my cats love fresh tongue
  15. So far, only scientific revenue is generated. Maybe there is one or the other mod of the desired function fulfilled?
  16. CSA Contares 'EYE' presents a set of reconnaissance satellite parts inspired by real terrestrian stuff including optical observation science. StarMods 02/2018 In pre-digital times, the celluloid-based photographic material from the reconnaissance satellites had to be safely returned to the Earth's surface, developed and evaluated. Between 1959 and 1987, approximately 900 reconnaissance satellites were launched worldwide for this purpose. Only about 30% of the visual material was even brought into space or successfully brought back to the earth's surface. Let this mod take you into the world of spy satellites and get an almost realistic picture of the hard work of space-based surveillance. Many of the included parts are very small, so it was not possible to create separate decoupler without making operation in the VAB impossible. Please take a look at the context menu of the parts to recognize and understand the existing functions. The FiRe and YFR return capsules has both a capacitiy of 600m film, thats place for 6 observations. To store the film into the capsules you need a mod to move science from part to part. Required mods: - Installation of RealPlume (contained engines use this engine effects mod only) Supported mods: - ScanSat (to use the altimetry scan) - TweakScale (change size of Parts) - Ship Manifest (to transfer science from part to part without crew) Downloads: Download via SpaceDock Craft-Files are included License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 Version / Update
  17. In one of the packages (sub mods) which are still assembled. This may take a while, because there is no community support. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Final pictures of YANTAR and the system of Film Return Capsules.
  18. The reconnaissance submod is more or less ready. Eventually release next week. Ready for reentry: ZENIT capsule decouple from service module and lands after a very speedy reentry safe in the desert. Reentry capsule of GAMBIT after separation of the heatshield and open the drogue chute. Mix of GAMBIT/QUILL in space
  19. Kosmos-Zenit works well. More texture finetune will follow.
  20. Kosmos Zenit reconnaissance capsule with 1.25m diameter. The desing based on the Vostok capsule.
  21. YANTAR rebuild. Base diameter of capsule is 0,9375m. Camera/Telescope with integrated Antenna. Ejectable hatch for parachute storage. Radial attachable Film Return Capsule's in progress. Servicemodule is already finished and show up by tag 'volga'.
