Checkpoint 27. Getting some sun... I'm pleased with the result so far, not bad crappy buggy. Fun fact, this is what it looks like when I turn Kerbin and put the southpole flag over the North one: NEW ROUTE EDIT: We are getting closer . . .
-
Killing Val and me hating quicksaving will hunt me for the rest of my life. Sorry it's a bit quiet at the KDA, but as you can see I am busy. Not bad for a 2 wheel drive. Next up, day 12, checkpoint 27. TBC
-
Well, this might be interesting. . .
-
Sun and Mun in one picture. Having the sun by my side really helps my solarpanels
-
Ok, I meant to say I was 40 km away from cp 26 after I've lost me right arm. Fully charged, look at those poor solarpanels, they must be hot... Thanks again for the tip on the motors, it's really efficient.
-
Hahaha, I wish ! The X shows how far it will get me... I'll need at least 4 more days of driving.
-
I'm only around 40 km away from my last checkpoint and I already have to turn my buggy to recharge. I remember now this was the reason we flew in a new buggy in the beginning. . . I am turning off the power of my backwheels as @Deddly suggested. 4X4 is now frontdrive....What a piece of crap I'm driving in, I love it ! Let's wait and see. TBC
-
Hahaha, yeah, you are right ! So our Black Night bravely fights on... I made it through the mountains, next up dunes, dunes, dunes, dunes and some more dunes. TBC
-
No, it didn't work, I've tried it with lvl 5 Bill. Turning off 2 motors is an option I might consider, thanks for that tip. Mostly I'm driving up a dune and let the buggy roll down without using batteries. I need a new name for my buggy now that it's lost more limbs . . . Any suggestions anyone ?
-
I almost forgot....Checkpoint 26 Really ? can they ? I thought they could only fix wheels ! I'm going to test that
-
YES WE CAN ! Sunrise, charging batteries and retracting solarpanel. Managed to upright the buggy doing some "breakdancing". The bad news, the solarpanel broke . . . We still have some solarpanels left on the buggy so we have desided to keep on driving. TBC
-
Sure. @Stunkfish Nice ! I just can't figure out your time....
-
I just gave you your #500 like

OMK!1! Almost crash-landed into Jeb . . . Val to the rescue, I hope . . . This is so wonderful, it actually worked! Val was able to push Jeb's buggy releasing the solarpanel ! TBC
-
About to send out Val, we choose a small jet so we can get as close as possible and maybe even give the buggy a push (wishful thinking, I know)
-
About that rear door, I've tried. I hope the front solar panels will pick up sunlight. I can't push the rover so it would flip, I can only wiggle it, just a little bit. I need torque. About 100 charge to roll the buggy over I guess. Since it is night and Jeb is going nowhere for a while I might send in someone to push over the buggy TBC
-
Unbelievable... The solar panel still works. The damage doesnt look that bad. Maybe we can save the Black Night. I shouldn't have EVA-ed Jeb, there is no way he can get back in again... Wauw... Jeb managed to push the buggy over and was able to get inside Now we have another problem, we can't extend the solar panel and we need juice to roll over... TBC
-
Out of power . . . I might as well setup Checkpoint 26 here. No No No NO NOOOOO ! ! ! I need to get a new buggy to Jeb, hope I can land there... I kinda like that this happened, Jeb can get some rest from driving and I can go and do some flying TBC

Day 11 has started. 2 routes...Orange is safe, red is shorter...
