Since this is about event organizing and I'm hosting the Kerbal Dakar I must say using flags for timing is stupid in a rally. To prove my Dakar you will need to put up 14 screenshots ! The flags need to go.

I think that if we are going to start a "racing club" we should reconsider getting to know and use the Races! mod that can time accurate. It still works, even in 1.2.2

Wonderfull how we all have complete different setups, it amazes me.

I don't mind, but it's like I opened Pandora's box. Fun fact; Kerbal Dakar was a mission idea I had, I never wanted to host a challenge but so many people reacted.

I see some of you take fuel/EC to last for 3 stages, why ? Isn't it better to make your car lighter and just refuel after every stage ?

Hmmm, ok, good point... Question to you all, what is your power source ? (amount of elec./fuel etc.) I ask this to see how much is needed to drive for 15 minutes.

Question to electric drivers, how much battery power do you have in your car ? I use 3050.

Even going around is not safe, + a lot of 45 degrees sideways driving, my neck hurts....

Just finished Stage 5 This is how you prove a stage, screenshot from the start and a screenshot from your finish showing car + flag. Be sure your speed at the start says 0,0 m/s ! I pressed F1 as soon as the clock was 00:28:00 so it would be easyer to calculate my time As you can see I finished 00:44:11 making my total stage time 00:16:11. Not fast, I know, lost a solar panel on the last stage but I'm still in the race !

I don't know, BUT IT NEEDS TO STOP !

Tips for upcoming organizers: - Keep it simple so new players won't be scared away. - Try to use as less rules as you can to avoid discussions. - Don't make it too hard or long. - Always test your track first.

That would be nice, someone already layed a flag route for it, but I can't remember who.... I've seen the screenshot (that I now can not find). A LOT of flags...though rally...

Maybe it would be a idea if someone would host a rally starting on 1st Feb ?

That's already a rule: If you crash you have to start the whole rally again. O, I see your point: e.g. if you crash in week 3 on stage 3 it's impossible to redo the first stages. I will keep it simple and run the challenge for a month. As for entering your times, upload screenshots from all stages showing us times and flags. All these times together make your final score.

Nah, that will only push people away. Some may not have the time or would loose interest. Besides, I guess everybody will finish his Dakar in the first week. Letting them wait for weeks to upload a time that the allready had on the first day, nah......
