  1. I'm amazed, the things you can do in a game designed for space travel. This is the best, I've enjoyed every second of that video.
  2. A stock hybrid buggy: https://kerbalx.com/Triop/Bugger 1 = toggle fuel cells 2 = toggle retractable solar panels
  3. Something went wrong here, have a kitten instead:
  4. Well, I'm not racing, it's gonna take a lot longer for me, trying to do it as realistic as possible. I'm doing this for the learning experience mostly. I've learned a lot about KIS mod on my trip so far, I was able to rescue fallen over trucks, repaired a nosewheel from a upsidedown jet (yes, that happened), destroyed a runway, blew up a truck, killed Jeb and repaired a wheel. I love this game
  5. Thank you for your motivating words. You did it, so you know it's not just something you do in a couple of hours. I find blogging my trip helps me to push for the goal, I kinda owe it to the people who follow my adventure. I love the sail on your catamaran, if only we had a wind mod, or any kind of weather mod. Would be cool if you where at sea in your catamaran through a thunder storm. I'm a big fan of your work btw.
  6. DAY 6 I'm racing like crazy out here and loving it ! It's drifting like crazy, but that only helps me prevent from tipping over. Not bad for a crappy buggy. Just look at the scenery, this is awesome. TBC
  7. Restarted 80 days around Kerbin because Jeb is no more, Bill is our man now in the new Bugger buggy. We start calling him "Bugger Bill" 74 days left.
  8. So we are in almost 6 days now and have 74 days left, we can do this . . . Restart, Bill in the Bugger buggy: Now that we have a command pod we can take more flags to mark our route and take KIS tools with us. It's a fast buggy, a bit of a drifter, but fast: Now it gets interesting, we've crashed loosing our butt. We landed on the wheels and could continue. BUT ! My buggy's wheels are acting funny and the buggy keeps pulling to the right. So I stopped and tried the next thing: I removed a wheel using my KIS tool and placed it back. I thought I'd never could get the wheel mirrored in the right place, but after placing it it did ! Got back in the buggy and guess what ? It fixed our problem, the buggy drives straight again, unbelievable ! This made me very happy and gave me confidence. Kerbin, here we come ! TBC
  9. I somehow can't copy a youtube video link here directly anymore ? Link: a first test drive https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGTAuNb86jk The buggy is a bugger, but I really love it. I think I'm gonna send Bill this time, he has a driver licence I guess... TBC
  10. Today I've killed Jeb in my trip around Kerbin. It's not fair, he has it easy being dead, I need to start all over again. Egoistic little b@$t@rd . . . A new day, a new design. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGTAuNb86jk
  11. Once again we asked R&D to come up with a new design. We are going for a command pod rover so we can carry KIS stuff and more flags to set up the route. We got Jeb's logo on it as a tribute. RIP Jeb. TBC
  12. I recovered the wheels, but come to think about it, I might could have picked them up and place them in the KIS container on the service truck. The buggy is fine, what happened was Jeb got out of the buggy trying to push it back on it's wheels. Then he just dove under and tumbled down the mountain and exploded. Yeah, that does work, you can stick a harpoon in the ground and attach a winch to it. Allthough Jeb died, we've learned a lot during this experience. I'm also annoyed that I can bring only one flag (I need a command pod for more flags) So I might even consider getting out the old Pole2pole buggy. TBC
  13. I'm not sure how to move on from here, I need a moment to think.... What do you guys think ? Should we continue in the rover with another driver or should we start all over again taking the Centipede ?
  14. IT WORKS ! ! ! Amazing, I never thought this would be possible, but Val fixed the nose wheel. TBC
  15. I just realised, only a engineer can use the KIS tool, I've should have send Bill instead of Val... I keep forgetting Jeb, he is supposed to drive around Kerbin and here I am, cleaning up the mess first . . . TBC
  16. Did I say later ? R&D came up with a small jet to check out the F-5 and if needed, take Edberry home. As you can see we gave it a "baby seat" for Edberry's flight of shame. The jet has some small winches and uses the J-33 Wheesley turbofan engine for it's reverse function. Sending out Val now. TBC
  17. Refueling done. I am going to keep both jets on location for refueling Jeb on his trip. I did get Bill back, his idea to save the F-5 is nice, but not worth the long drive. The Centipede is awesome, rolled over 3 times during the trip but kept landing on it's wheels. Managed to get a topspeed of 46.2 m/s ! We might send in a small plane later to see what can be done with the F-5 jet. Next up: Jeb continues his adventure. TBC
  18. Finally Val is back, she didn't take any risk after the last incident. Enough driving for now, Rolas is still waiting to be refueled. TBC
  19. Only 2 wheels survived after that explosion Val is ready to return to the KSC. After a few minutes driving there was an explosion in front of us. I wasn't sure what happened, we where driving on a flat surface. But after watching the F-3 screen I knew what happened. I did not retract the winch before driving so it jiggled freely around untill it slammed into the ground. Luckely Bill is still nearby with the Centipede, he's now on his way to rescue us once more... I don't like this, I just want to move on . . . TBC
