    So, we know one of the counterarguments for SpaceX (until maybe two years ago) was "well, literally no-one else is bothering with propulsive recovery and reuse, so they must be wrong". So let's leave that behind and look at a different matter. The market for military airlift, whether helicopters or long-range transport aircraft, appears to be fairly diversified, with Europe usually having an equivalent for whatever comes out of the 'States (except maybe the C-5, but they don't need their own version of that chonker when they can hire a Ruslan or the Mriya). And then there's, of course, China. So why is it that we're seeing zero noises about tiltrotors outside of Bell and adjacent groups (e.g. Boeing's megaquadcopter)?

    It's barely 8:30 AM and I've already had my laugh for the day. So, the first bit of spyware is apparently a bhangmeter: Aside from trying to imagine a situation when that could become problematic, NAVSTAR sats carried those from the very beginning. And the second bit sounds suspiciously like someone confusing the GLONASS/Uragan series with Liana and Pion series. And then, yeah, (yes, the mention of EKS Tundra is superfluous if we're talking about explosions) I did find OKR Ruveta as a Ministry of Defense program in Reshetnev's FY2016 report. Yandex spits out a bunch of returns regarding Liana that don't actually contain mentions of Ruveta, as if there's some sort of an association in its AI engine... ah, never mind, this article is such an excellent bit of scaremongering that the Russian-government-run InoSMI has stayed up late yesterday to publish a translation, which is affecting Yandex.

    The cloud of scaterring debris would by found by USAF space situational awareness units within the timeframe of hours, possibly less since they'd be queued towards a known target. Evidently that's how science budget policy is conducted in the US. Hollywood flicks. Well, they relight 3 SSMEs without an ET and they also set off what look like GEMs or SRBs from a Titan-IV. They are packing a lot of thrust, although probably still not enough for such a (potentially fatal) TWR.
