North Kerborea Space Program
Crocket replied to The Optimist's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Just a little tidbit: the funds needed to upgrade all facilities to level 2 plus the 60k needed for start is 2,461,500 funds. -
North Kerborea Space Program

One more question: are we allowed to hack in more than 60k to upgrade a few of our facilities? -

Sounds interesting! Single launch or career? -
John Madden!

I changed the Mun to 2-3-4 and Minmus to 1-2-3 because of popular demand.

Great Fox (your favorite Smash Bros level comes to KSP!)
Crocket replied to Krog34's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
But it's Jeb we're talking about here. -

His recovery has to be his EVA pack. Literally has to. One of us should make a petition for Jeb to be in Sm5sh. -

Awesome! Can't wait to beat up other Kerbals for no apparent reason! -
I consider Minmus *slightly* more difficult because of the inclination change required to get there. Also, changing to Medium mode.

The pic in the OP shows a body named Pledna. What's that from? Also, does Hyper Mode have a time limit?

It was meant to be a single launch, but a career might be interesting.

The space program is bankrupt from a ludicrious mission involving 97 Mammoth engines, 100,000 units of rocket fuel, and a sparking Z-100 battery. However, Rockomax has given them 5,000 funds in bailout money and has created a "Score Sheet of Awesome", where 1 point is 1,000 funds for the KSC. Their list is below (and quite long): Here are the general rules: Your craft must cost no more than 5000 funds. Your craft must have at least one Kerbal on board for each lander. A single ISRU refuel is permitted. Mods and debug menu are forbidden. If you do not return, your score is halved. Science Route: You may do science along the way to perform a 100%-committed Research Rights Sell-Out for additional money when you get home. Transmitting science is forbidden. The start: Medium-mode Career save, all tech unlocked, 0 science, 5,000 funds. Rockomax's Top Roadtrippers @ManEatingApe with 130 points and an initial cost of 4,976, which means 125,024 funds recovered! Christ on a cracker...

Here's my entry, the Beanstalk: 6.215 tons at the launchpad, Lellian in the command pod. She's the leader of the Itty Bitty Rocket Committee and after the Tiny Rocket Challenge Fiasco, she needed a chance to prove herself. When this cropped up, the Committee went hard to work to create an entry. This is the result of their experimenting.

Ah. :/ I don't have any real good tips for Sandbox mode.
-
For early Science/Career mode, I recommend a Munhopper, a small craft that can get to the Mun, hop around to several biomes, do science, then hop back to Kerbin. I made one in Science mode using only tier 3 and under tech. It can get to the Mun, but I'm not smart enough to get it back. I'm sure it can, though.

Crocket's Discount Rockets [Stock-et]
Crocket replied to Crocket's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
1. Those are the deorbit engines, and they probably won't be needed. 2. Okay. 3. Yes. -

Building the RATS-M is a losing battle, seeing as how it costs 209k funds. I'll just move on to the RATS-L and make a new heavy lander in compensation. I've been wanting to make one of those for a while. -
^This. The second hurdle is also one of my gripes about the console version. PC games that use at least 50% of the buttons on the keyboard are bad ideas for console unless you can somehow simplify the controls to where you won't be pressing 2-3 buttons on the controller at the same time trying to perform an action that could be done with 1 on PC.

Lighest Crewed kauncher
Crocket replied to nuclear_turkey's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Is anybody else wondering what a "kauncher" is? I might try my hand at this, though given my record with 0.625m craft I might not succeed. -

Here's the RATS-M Workhorse, carrying the Anubis and a lifter I designed for it. The engines on the sides of the side tanks are to deorbit with (though I may not need them with how this thing flies ). I usually launch at 66% thrust and go full throttle when the sides flame out. -
Iron Flame Aerospace and Rocketery (New Rocket!)
Crocket replied to Firemetal's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Thanks, Screeno! I designed a small SSTO that seems to work: it's got a shock cone as a nosecone, a RAPIER in the back, and some other bits and bobs. You can make it up to orbit and circularize with ~50 oxidizer left if you pitch up to about 30 degrees when you lift off naturally. I never got it to land, though. Landing is not my strong suit.
