  1. Ummm, shouldn't this thread be posted in the mission reports section and not the challenges section of the forum .. or am I mistaken?
  2. DF-43 Bad Company has been submitted ... good luck to all who entered into this competition, methinks you're gonna need it EDIT----------- Stats are as follows: 2x MG 131 13mm 2x ShVAK 20mm 2x B40-S "Falcon" Total points= 146
  3. The Bad Company gains velocity quick and holds it's speed well. I have some spoilers on her which enables her to slow down fairly well too Give you a tip .... you want the CoM of your main wing to be somewhere in the vicinity of the CoM of the craft (in the yellow sphere). This will aid you tremendously in setting up your weight distribution and how it relates to handling. You can end up being able to shave a couple degrees off of your control surfaces which will increase your overall velocity vector
  4. Right click in the sources window of OBS then add a new game capture and name it what you want Right click on the new game capture in the sources window and click properties and then check the first box (Stretch image to screen)
  5. Get yourself a copy of OBS (Open Broadcast Software) ... the built in windows recorder has bad resolution even on high quality settings and ends up looking horrible as it 'artifacts' all over the place
  6. Nice ... Speed is key but you also have to have a good turn rate Taking those air brakes off and removing the bottom fuel tank reduced the DF-43's drag and made me have to adjust her control surfaces quite a bit to accommodate the additional speed ... However she has a tighter turn radius now
  7. What are the parts you used for the core of the Salamander? ... the ones with the yellow and black, I don't recognize them
  8. So I took dem A.I.R.B.R.A.K.E.S off the DF-43 After the refit she has now reached a new top speed of 251.5 m/s (905.33 Kph) ... Still a bit shaky close in but she's super light and really quick Off to tuning now but just thought I'd show how having to change something to fit within the rules can be beneficial to your design in the end ... I will probably add a bit more fuel but that will only increase the weight by a fraction
  9. Copy that .. I'll take them off and tweak it a bit more ... Do I have a deadline date?
  10. It won't be for a few weeks yet as I am moving on Sunday and still have to hook up internet and such ... I'll still be running stuff but the uploads will be sporadic until I get settled
  11. You haven't seen the DF-39 Bad Dog in action ... It was a close call on which I would enter, the DF-43 won out due to it's insane speed EDIT----------- And what @tetryds said
  12. Just wait till I release Level 3 ... 2 long range escorts for an air drop of 4 Para-Kerbals from a cargo plane at an undisclosed location with some, shall we say, opposition?
  13. I could shave a few more Kilo's off of her but she performs nicely the way she is although I may still tweak her control surfaces ... Still got a week or more till the competition starts but the DF-43 is done, I can't squeeze much more performance outta her than I've already managed to.
  14. The best thing to do is design something that will take out some, if not all, of the island defenses in level 1 and then add drop tanks ... changing your aero for improved mileage will cost you in performance during a fight And thanks for thinking of me
  15. So I ran the Wyvern Mk.4 - LR ... You can watch the results HERE I ended up having to redirect the crafts during the fight as the AI wingman kept getting in the way of the turn the lead AI wanted to do which caused the lead AI to change course to keep from crashing into it's wingman. I also lowered your altitude to 1900 towards the end as the pilot would fly out of range on one of the craft (after I disabled the AI wingman) I'd probably even lower the altitude to 1500 or so based on the terrain in that area
  16. Perhaps, but did you consider that there is what is called a maximum ceiling at which any given engine can operate ... There is a point at which the thrust required to keep you moving up in altitude is more than the thrust you can get at said altitude
  17. In my experience the only thing that can target a turret equipped craft is another turret equipped craft however one of the teams has to be stationary
  18. No turrets allowed ... If you look back in the thread a few pages it was mentioned and explained why Basically any craft with a turret onboard ends up being invincible due to the way the AI handles target acquisition ... It is explained better a few pages back
  19. lol ... Yes I do have a fair amount of patience although I am running with a quad core so I set one core to run Kerbal, another to run OBS and still have 2 cores to work with Normally I'm watching something while recording ... I even have ran 2 instances of KSP on separate cores while recording on a 3rd so I can be working on a design at the same time as recording and watching something ............................... yes, it's a bit ADD
  20. CORRECTION: I had offered previously and was refused the opportunity. It was only within the past few days that I was asked if I was willing to record like I had offered previously. I only offered to record the fights due to everyone who had entered the competition wants to see the results, plain and simple. However, due to the constraints I have been asked to perform under, I know for a fact that I will not enjoy the experience and have to decline the opportunity to record the tournament at this time (being answerable to someone for a 'poor recording performance' or 'bad camera angle' is not why I offered to record the fights in the first place let alone I have no intention of taking a course on cinematography or any other such nonsense as was suggested to me) I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused Regards, Doctor Davinci
