  2. SHUBADUB I now present the CANUKWorks DF-39 Manta V in it's final iteration ... I discovered that the V outperformed both the GAU and the M230 variants so I'm just gonna enter two Manta V's (I also linked my flag below) DoctorDavinci - 1 - Manta V DoctorDavinci - 2 - Manta V FLAG Weighing in at a meager 9.5 tons, it has a single hidden Vulcan for all your dog-fighting needs as well as sporting two fashionable Panthers and air brakes. NOTE: The AI Pilot toggle, Guard Mode toggle and Activate Engines are hot-keyed to '1'
  3. Sorry 'bout that, some pesky human came by and busted a hole in one of the dams for my pond so I had to go chew down some trees and plug the hole ... Can't they just leave a retired beaver alone? Anyways, I digress ......... I'm still working on a second variant as I want to enter 2 planes with different load-outs. I've put many hours into fine tuning the DF-39 Manta and the first variant has a single hidden Vulcan which is designated the DF-39 Manta V .. I'm testing the GAU and an M230 variants at the moment and will post my entries soon as well as including my avatar for the contest too.
  4. It does ... you can activate the engines, the AI and the guard mode with standby mode on and the drones will launch when something is in range. Problem with this is it cancels out my turbo boost at launch since the 3 sepratrons on the Scrappy Doo are hot-keyed to 1 and I don't know a way of triggering them once something comes into range
  5. What if you added a tracking station to the attacking side in range of the KSC ... Might work
  6. The HARM is anti-radiation missile so methinks the target needs a radome so the missile can track it
  7. I haven't tried a moving target yet but I modified my Scrappy Doo into a ground attack with a FLIR targeting pod and 4 Hellfire missiles ... Here's the video with a stationary target on the launch pad https://youtu.be/FUzGbMyHdzA On the target I added an AI pilot and a weapon manager to be sure it's team was designated as well as activating the guard mode before I launched the Scrappy Doo GA ... did you try this on your moving target?

I haven't played with the ground attack systems at all but IRL a laser targeting pod or someone on the ground painting the target is needed to allow reliable tracking and targeting of enemy ground forces... Try this out with the laser tracking pod in BDA I am definitely down with the direction your initiative is taking
  9. That would be pretty cool although I am at a loss as to how you might accomplish this seeing that there are only 2 teams in BDA Go for it if you can do it
  10. Perhaps I should have said that without a radome the targeting by the AI is spotty at best

So I am totally Dres'd out Currently I have 80 Kerbals, 4 Party Buses, 1 working rover and the wreck of another rover on the surface of Dres as well as 14 satellites, 2 rovers and 1 mothership in orbit with another mothership less than half a year from Dres encounter. This is what I have done so far ....... 1- Two sat networks consisting of 8 surface scanning comsats and 6 regular comsats in orbit around Dres. 2- Landed 2 rovers each with a scientist onboard on the surface of Dres (one was a crash landing but the scientist survived although the rover didn't) 3- Landed 4 Party Buses on the surface of Dres each containing 19 Kerbals 4- Two of the Party Buses had a Kerbal hanging onto a ladder during the landing 5- Have a mothership (the Rainbow Brite) in polar orbit with 18 probe landers onboard 6- Have a mothership (the What Is The Question-1) on an intercept course for Dres with 37 probe landers onboard and 1 regular comsat 7- Have placed a flag in the first crater and also left a Kerbal there to keep the crater company Dres needs love and I thought the best way to show her love is to give comfort and companionship to all the craters that the evil Dresteroids have inflicted upon her Anyways, seeing as I am totally Dres'd out, I humbly request to be put on the supporters list with the understanding that I will continue with my Dres Love Missions thread as my Dres'd level goes down
  12. Interesting that there is no AI or Weapon Manager on your drone Anyone know how it can fly without them?
  13. Personally, I really like the look of your design although one thing to remember when using BDA is to always have a Radome as your AI pilot can't target anything without it.

So I played around a little bit with my design and managed to squeeze out a bit more speed and height 23 004m with a speed of 605.2m/s EDIT----------------------------------------------- I did a few more tweaks and now hold the record for FAR ... for how long we will see 26 622m with a top speed of 633.7m/s
