I need help modding
DoctorDavinci replied to AustinLOLJK's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Read the OP's in each of the threads for the mods you want to install and in most cases the installation directions are written there -
You have obviously not read the OP of the BDAc thread ... either this or you just gave it a cursory glance or you are willfully ignoring what is clearly written If you want help you need to follow the directions ... If you can't follow the directions then I can't help you, sorry
-
The only reason you would have 2 BD tabs is by having a second BDAc install in your GameData Please follow the advice given above and read the OP of this thread for proper installation instructions

We all know YouTube buggyness isn't to blame here

I find it amusing that some of the videos no longer have the KSP tag ... interesting how that works I guess it was glitchy YouTube who read what was said about the uploader and then removed the tags ... Amazing service this YouTube provides Interesting thing is that the uploader specifically said themselves that they use KSP and other games in their video tags to get views

Mods not working!
DoctorDavinci replied to Briggan24's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Please read the following post for detailed instructions on how to install BD Armory Continued correctly As for MJ, go to it's thread for instructions on how to install it ... however you can just do the same thing as explained in the above post with the downloaded MJ zip 99% of KSP mods are installed the same as in the above linked post ... when in doubt read the instruction manual -
What I see here is the installation of a bunch of mods through ckan and then this persons game didn't work as expected afterwards, what is the problem with what I said? ... It's a solution to the users problem that will garner results,no? Let alone what I said is one of the issues with ckan hence why there are KSP modders round these parts who will not put their mods onto ckan for reasons such as I have mentioned Therefore, Request Denied

Advertising the game as KSP on YouTube to get views is false advertising and Intellectual Property infringement Also I did not say to flag it as a rip off, I posted that people should report it as it is being advertied as KSP to get views ... read the thread and see what I repeatedly said in it As a side note I find it amusing that some the videos in question have had the KSP tag removed since I brought this to the attention of the KSP community and Squad I clearly expressed my opinion which is that the game is a KSP rip off (the video uploader has clearly stated that KSP was the inspiration), however I also clearly stated that I am not sure if there is copyright infringement going on and that is why I feel that people should report the game ... so that those who are involved become aware that their IP might be in the process of being stolen from them A game company using another company's IP to advertise their own game which is direct competition to the the IP they are using for advertising is a clear violation of copyright law as I understand it The person who uploaded the videos of Flyout also incriminated themself in this regard by admitting that he/she uses the KSP tag (as well as other games) in order to get views on their videos ... Essentially admitting that they are infringing on the KSP IP as the only reason for those videos to be up there is advertising for the game they are creating that is competition for the game they are using to advertise their game It is a rip off in my opinion and the video uploader has pretty much confirmed this by the comments he has made on their videos as well as mine ... case in point - "You also falsely accused me of advertising my game as KSP. I use KSP (and other related games) in my video tags to get views." - this is a contradictory statement Here's the link to the video that except comes from -

I do what I please, nobody tells me how I should go about doing things ... How I choose to word my posts is my prerogative, not yours ... If you have a different opinion then you are fully within your rights to believe them and express them I expressed my opinion in the post and by people reporting the game those who are involved will know to take a look into the situation so as to be sure that they aren't getting shafted ... How is this a problem?

Of course, however anything and everything can be explained away although in some cases it takes a lot of mental gymnastics to do it The similarities between part names and the cokpit models to other KSP mods is striking and could just be coincidence, however the YouTube videos are all tagged as KSP which has to be intentionally done by the uploader ... could just be a case of a false advertising type deal on the uploaders part but this begs to question if there is something more nefarious going on here Hence my creation of this thread
-
A review and trying to directly market something are 2 completely different things ... Appears to me that they are trying to market their game off of KSP's popularity as the videos will show up in feeds related to KSP and when people see the video and read the comments/descriptions they find out it isn't Marketing using another company's intellectual property is illegal in some countries ... And let's be honest, the reason for the video's are to market the upcoming release of the game to Steam

The point isn't that it is a knockoff ... The point is that it is similar enough to raise questions as to the validity of this game being made from scrastch without infringing on any copyrights Their videos are tagged as KSP on the YouTube page which can only be done if the video uploader tags KSP in the upload ... seems suspicious to me
-
Bwahahaha ... you think that is the most hysteria inducing thing I can come up with ... lol If you don't like my opinion you are welcome to form your own, however the title of this thread is how I took the situation and I am fully within my rights to do so ... Personal attacks aside, it is something that raises an eyebrow and should be looked into Plus they are advertising it as KSP ... look at the video pages, it clearly states that it is KSP (or they are using that to advertise to KSP players)

^^^This I made this thread to bring it to the attention of the community as well as @SQUAD ... I do not know if it is copyright infringement but reporting it to those who can determine that is the best course of action First step in determining if it is a ripoff of KSP is to recognize that it exists, no? My main question is why in all of the video pages for this game that it is advertised as KSP ... Here's my receipt for the above statement
