  1. Those are fun. Have you tried nested Penrose triangles?
  2. This was a good read. Interesting to see all the different solutions presented to the various issues.
  3. Thor: Ragnarok 2001: A Space Odyssey
  4. What the heck, I didn't even know there was a launch today. I have two school projects left to finish and got completely distracted.
  5. So I have a ton of Arduino and random computer and electronic hardware at home, and I've now got some basic coding ability, so I think I'll be playing with Arduino a lot this summer.
  6. ...and fiddling with their phone cameras to try to get a good selfie with the raging creature.
  7. One thing I'm not sure about is if you were switching frequently between a ring and weightlessness, say from moving between the center and edge of the ring daily. People seem to take a while to adjust to one after being in the other, and not having that time might be more problematic than just being in a ring.
  8. More than anticipated, apparently, since this thread was predicted to collapse 1579 posts ago.
  9. True, that wouldn't be so hard to implement.
  10. Iff the conveyor belt accelerates just the same as the plane does, then they won't spin at all. If it accelerates faster, they would even spin backwards!
  11. I love the fact that despite there being a video a few pages back of an airplane actually taking off from a treadmill, we can still argue for either side almost indefinitely.
  12. Not if the car is in neutral and the wheels are acting as rollers.
  13. But if the wheels are not exerting any force on the car, they can spin in place. It's as if the car (or plane for that matter) were sitting on near frictionless skids.
  14. And anything with copious amounts of high fructose corn syrup.
  15. What do the Venera probes look like today? I can't imagine decades under that acid oven of an atmosphere would leave them in any sort of decent state.
