Granted, but the kite is on Mars and nothing very exciting happens. I wish all teachers would embrace our technological resources and teach us to make good use of them instead of dismissing them as "cheating" and giving us lots of busywork.

The problems I think of at first glance are: You still need a really gigantic laser to move anything useful around. Why send postage stamps to other planets in a few weeks when we can send car-sized robots in a few years? Even if you manage to get up to speed, you'll need something to slow the craft down at the destination. If it's travelling at a fraction of c that doesn't require scientific notation, that thing is probably another gigantic laser, which would be even harder to build away from Earth. I think fusion and even fission drives are easier than this for large ships.

Giant orbital laser? I think the US already denied a petition to build one... Would make for an interesting (albeit incredibly expensive) concept for sending tiny, inert bits of metal to nearby star systems fast.

Welcome and congrats! You can upload your screenshots to imgur using the green "New Post" button. Then, right click on an image you want to post here and select "Copy Image". Then hit ctrl+z in the forum text editor and the image should show up. If you want to show a bunch of images, post the link to the imgur album. This isn't the only way to do it, but it's simple and has never failed me.

Try deleting the "deathstar" folder and replacing it with a fresh copy of version 0.2. Is this the first time you've installed it or did you ever get 0.1? I've got the latest version of Kopernicus and mine is working as well as I make it (the trench is being annoying still...) Glad to help!
