That one is actually automatically recognized by the name generator and rejected if it gets drawn in any part of the name, along with "eee" and "rrr" if I recall correctly. So there's never a Kerbal with that name unless you edit the save.

Wow, that's awesome! Just show them your best, and that you are totally willing to do the job, and you'll have a chance, at least! Good luck!

[Forum Game] One word to describe the avatar above you.

11/10 it goes through time as well as space, and is bigger on the inside, and has a library and contains a cool old guy who always gets chased by aliens.

Banned for quoting and not specifically addressing the quoted text, but rather the user who posted it.

Granted, but everything else they say is 100% more wrong than it is normally. I wish for the most interesting book I've never heard of!

What if our Moon was instead a set of binary moons?
cubinator replied to FungusForge's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Well, the anemones would notice it, so life might have developed a little differently, but probably not much. The Space Race would probably have lasted longer, though, with the added gravitational difficulties and the extra moon to keep the enemy from claiming. -
I saw a kid walking around my neighborhood looking at his tablet earlier today, presumably playing Pokemon Go. It's a little distressing, these people are actively not paying attention to things around them that could hurt them, like the car I was in. I'm okay with people playing it, but they really need to learn to be smart about it.

I can assert that it's not necessarily caused by a circular path; My Mun probe was the only thing using RT at the time, and it was pointed at Kerbin from plenty far enough to cover the whole planet. Still, no signal. It started after my orbital insertion, so it can't have been caused by the SOI transition. It was also in a high elliptical orbit that allowed it to see Kerbin the whole orbit.

Should Laythe be Closer to Jool?
cubinator replied to LaytheAdventurer's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I think if it were any closer it would be pushing the boundaries of physics a little too much and it couldn't have formed there, and that's a little too unrealistic. I like Laythe where it is, and Jool is huge enough. I believe its angular diameter is even much larger than that of Jupiter from Io's surface. -
@Cydonian Monk I had the same problem with Remote Tech on a Mun probe. It had a long-range dish, pointed at Kerbin, it said it had two targets in range, all ok, but it insisted that there was no signal and I couldn't complete the contract for testing an engine on suborbital flight because it was stuck in orbit.

But people branding things that wave aside the most important concepts in physics as "science" will make normal people who don't know any better forget about them!

These are not the droids you're looking for. Just Jim, maybe?
-
Granted, but only when you are at work. I wish to always be in good health.

Banned for...Well, I am overthinking today. I can't help it, my brain runs out of RAM and crashes! This darkness again...I wonder...have I always been here? I hope I don't have to scan any more buildings...tomorrow will be better, happier... Banned for reminding me of that confounded sense of detachment!

9a cents. Plot twist: That's actually Base 12, not hexadecimal.

I think they are shirking from thermodynamics, which is not a good thing when you're trying to convince people of a purely theoretical aircraft that is "fifty years away" and "cannot be made with today's technology".

If you've got a decent pair of binoculars lying about, you'll probably be able to see the Galilean moons and Saturn's rings. There's a lot to see with only your eyes, though. If you go out soon after it gets dark, you can often spot at least a few satellites in orbit. They look like stars, but they drift across the sky over several minutes and don't have blinky lights like airplanes do. You can also find out on the internet when the ISS will be overhead. Several nebulae and galaxies are visible in areas with lower light pollution, although some are bright enough to be seen closer to the city. If you want to go for a telescope, you might want to start small if you're only going to be looking for basic stuff like the visible planets and the Moon.

Ok, I suppose you have RC3 then. I would first check if your graphics card has any updates available. If not, check the settings in Space Engine itself and make sure you don't have something ridiculous like "Planet Surfaces turned off". I remember having a similar problem in an easier earlier version, but unfortunately I don't remember what fixed it.

In the development thread where you got 0.9.7.4 from, there are three versions. Release Candidate 1, a very "beta-y" version expected to have lots of bugs, Release Candidate 2, an "almost release version" with fewer bugs, and the very recently released Release Candidate 3, which should be almost ready for release. When did you download this particular installation? That would help figure out which version it is.
