Larger Landing Legs
RocketSquid replied to royying's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Check out Lithobrake Exploration Technologies by Necrobones. It adds bigger parachutes, service bays, lander cans, and of course legs. -
We forgot to add parachutes, so we figured that was the fastest way to get it back into the VAB. Your spaceplane sticks to the runway and brings it all the way to LKO.

Is it bad that my GameData folder takes up 1.45 GB?
RocketSquid replied to RocketSquid's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
I'm using steam, so it's really annoying to set up multiple installs. -

What a waste of a good asteroid! -
Some Relief for Memory Outage Crashes
RocketSquid replied to Moach's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
OpenGL unfortunately resulted in KSP being unable to open. I have yet to try DirectX. -

[WIP]-Modular Anullar Segment System (MASS)
RocketSquid replied to RocketSquid's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Progress update: configs mostly done- still need to figure out masses and costs. Kinda dragging my feet on modeling. Making the models is fine, but I really don't want to spend my weekend monkeying around with Unity. First release (dev build) will probably be in late February or early March. -
SSTO Single stage to ocean (most of my stock rocket planes) SSTI Single stage to incineration (My first air-augmented-rocket plane, fortunately unmanned) SSTDOoF Single stage to "damn, out of fuel!" (My second air-augmented-rocket plane, also unmanned) How did the Bell X-1 do it? Although, my first air augmented rocket plane would have succeeded if I hadn't tried to make it into orbit.

Hmm. Are you going to put the Taerobee Bell X-1 parts to use for these planes? Also, it seems that they have mistaken (what seems to be) a space shuttle type craft for a SSTO plane.

I don't mean to alarm you, but in the current configuration the science lab is completely blocked by the cargo bay, meaning the scientists will be trapped unless the pod is detached. Meanwhile, if the pod is rotated, the other crew will be trapped instead.

The Saga of Emiko Station - Complete
RocketSquid replied to Just Jim's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
So I hear you're lookin' for an interplanetary supership. Well, I've got one. She's called the odyssey, and she's got it all. Science, artificial gravity, and room for over 20 crew. Some assembly required, but she can be yours for the small price of 20,000 funds, plus a 5% sales tax. -
Unify game modes for greater configurability
RocketSquid replied to Kaos's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Nice idea, I always feel like I'm missing something from science mode, but I find several aspects of career mode (grindy grindy contracts!) obnoxious. This would probably work well with the Improved strategies people are also suggesting. -
Kenlie Kermulan's weapon could be an energy weapon, and the "bullet holes" are from him pyrolyzing the paint of the flag decal.

Well, if boosterstorm was successful, they would have had no VAB and no rocket parts, and would be short quite a few funds. Also, from what I understand the VAB is very, very expensive to repair, and in a logical world would take longer to repair.

Anyone Else Recently Build A Bad@** PC in Reponse to upcoming 1.1?
RocketSquid replied to scribbleheli's topic in The Lounge
That's a relief. My computer can handle KSP pretty well now, so I should be good for a few more updates. -

What are the minimum specs for 1.1? -
[WIP]-Modular Anullar Segment System (MASS)
RocketSquid replied to RocketSquid's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
I like the concept, and that is very similar to what I'm planning for science parts- mystery goo, science jr., and a combined thermometer/barometer/gravimeter/accelerometer. I probably won't be doing too much with cores, but I might eventually do 0.625-1.25m segments. -
Strategies should be important
RocketSquid replied to regex's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I agree, strategies aren't all that useful right now, and are even less so if you have mods like CTT or ETT. -
The Saga of Emiko Station - Complete
RocketSquid replied to Just Jim's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Well, the trick to refusal is saying no really, really loudly.
