KSP actually said they would use the new shaders when they were coming out with KSP x64, but it was quickly dropped together with every other new feature except the upgrade to 64 bit itself.

Probe core; it has reaction wheels on board. I never have RCS on board unless I need to dock to something.

I think that is on the list of to-do somewhere but with low priority? BTW: We can already make a basic satellite with the LV tank like @Nightside showed us. I just added the ProbesPlus dish to it.
-
Static, I doubt you can switch out nosecones that have animations. And what's to animate on a dish? If you want something fancy you could use a 3rd party dish and select the mount-flat option to attach it to the top node. I mean just a static model to switch out, "for show". Re antenna Module manipulation... is it possible to enable/disable anything, either through plugin or manual via the gui? I type too fast

@Cheesecake Just make the tank bigger Changing to 1.5 is basically cheating and you will have to patch that yourself. You can change the resource volume to add more units per weight: @Shadowmage Sattelite dishes brainfart: Would it be possible to have a dish as nose-cone model like we have different nose options with the MFT right now? This would allow switching between nothing (just top attach node) and a few different top models ? ** Those legs look ready to package. Mjum!!!! I'd love to see what you come up with if this is 5 miutes during work @tater I'd want to use 3rd party engine like NFPropulsion, so would favor no engines like on the planned SM. If you included an engine, you could patch it to behave like a 3rd party engine, but the effects and model would look weird if it is based off of conventional engines. Think monoprop vs plasma. **: I reserve the right to make weird suggestions without expecting or requiring these to actually be implemented in-game. I am not hindered by any knowledge and will just blab out whatever my little mind thinks of out of excitement for possible future parts. should add that last bit as part of my signature to avoid needing to repeat...

Hah. So I'm not the only one that is spending more time in the VAB than in space OH, shiny

The holidays are coming up. Take the month off and just relax. With all that has been improved/added/changed these last few releases, you more than deserve it. Who could have thought the recoloring/pbr functionality possible a year ago? It's freakin amazing!

You keep saying no no, but then deliver something even better Sounds awesome, Mage!!!!! Thank you!

Re ART: Not sure the hab part works, but he has a crew hatch that attaches to the asteroid
-
RoverDude's ART does as much by mining an asteroid and hollowing it out, allowing you to convert it into fuel tanks or even habs.

Modular went out the window when you said making so many length versions and diameters is a no go. I meant just rescale the entire thing to fixed sizes, ie 1.875, 2.5, 3.75, 5m as I did in my 2.5m rescale (same aspect ratio, so basically an Orion mini-me version). Don't know if that is an option somehow?
-
If anyone wanted to make the IVAs, I doubt Mage would object. Maybe even placeholders.
-
@sir raftalot Try the Better TimeWarp mod, it allows you to use faster warps or set your own, and revert back to stock all from within the game.
-
Maybe the idea could serve as inspiration for a new dedicated part for this application. Just like the science bay on the Apollo SM sort of thing? I liked this on the BDB Apollo SM where you can hide stuff under the hatch until you need them. Maybe Mages sampe return idea could implement something similar and be scaled up?
-
The ports have integrated bases now, but they only show up on radial attaching them. If you can't patch it you can just add the probe core under the docking port and have it all with just two parts.
-
Vossie, you could patch your own part to have all that. If you then set it to category = Pods and vesseltype to Ship, then it will act as a real probe core. Just make sure you set it as the root part.
-
Yep, it won't all be possible. For my personal use I would not want engines on the parts so I can add 3rd party engines that I tend to use more, mainly NF Propulsion (I lovz my scifi). Maybe just have a scalable (change diameter but keep size ratio) apollo and orion SM to start with? That way you can chose fuelcell vs panels by chosing the model and adjust the diameter to match the pod. For my personal use I patched a 2.5m version of the orion capsule and SM for a 3-man setup just because it looks more modern and has panels. Maybe that is an initial option until you work out something better?

Community Resource Pack? Module Manager? A screenshot of your gamedata folder will help.
