This may have been what happened to me - it sounds like what I experienced. I need to dig up the LKO - Duna DV chart again to compare what the game is telling me vs what it should be. My burns are all way more than necessary - with the intercept plotting prior to the burn, but no intercept after. Thanks guys!

Thumbs up!

The James Webb Space Telescope and stuff
JoeSchmuckatelli replied to Streetwind's topic in Science & Spaceflight
luminous, hot star Wolf-Rayet 124 (WR 124) is prominent at the center of the James Webb Space Telescope’s composite image combining near-infrared and mid-infrared wavelengths of light from Webb’s Near-Infrared Camera and Mid-Infrared Instrument https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2023/nasa-s-webb-telescope-captures-rarely-seen-prelude-to-supernova- 869 replies

You must be making this up - none of my fuel tanks have any fuel ever! (Of course, I have landing legs attached - so...)

Experimental branch?
JoeSchmuckatelli replied to KerbolExplorer's topic in KSP2 Suggestions and Development Discussion
If you enjoy oxygen, I would suggest not holding your breath for MP. A better strategy would be to adopt the lifecycle of the cicada and poke your head up every few years to see if it ever becomes a feature. -
I'll check this out later. I'm not certain that the planets are moving after three attempts at the same Intercept where my ship moved but Duna wasn't anywhere near the Intercept. I'm gonna have to put my "tester" hat on - not my "gamer hoping to see new content" hat - like I had on last night. You guys might be absolutely correct. Interplanetary travel isn't my strong suit.

I've got a bug report showing the planets do not move under warp in Tracking Station. It's a video. Here's the link (Bug report just explains it) Turned the game off. Reloaded the save before I burned for the encounter. DV timer shows I need 1000 DV to get to the intercept. Except every time I either follow the timer or burn 1000 by watching - my orbital path end up being way past that of Duna. I'm guessing the save I'm running is borked somehow. Might have to start a whole new campaign and try again. I get the intercept to show up in the tracking station - shows a nice PE in Duna view; everything should work... then I start the burns and reloading save after save and I get nothing; the burn that should get me an intercept gets nothing and Duna doesn't move. I'll make a video showing it tomorrow. Burnt out now. Getting depressed about the state of the game. Don't really need that. Maybe I'll just wait for the patch and see if that fixes stuff.

I've just spent two hours trying to get a capture at Duna. Every step of the way, I figured I had worked around the bugs. I warped with the ship on the ground at KSC to get the proper alignment. I burned while looking at the ship. I watched the timer like a hawk. Worked out a mid course correction that would get me into the Duna SOI. Went to the PE of my intercept and set up the maneuver node for the capture. Warped to just before the maneuver node... ...and Duna is waaaay out of position. It stopped warping with my ship. ... So - how are you guys getting ANYWHERE?

I'm actually thinking that if the patch is solid, we'd get back up to 2500 player levels. Like there were when I started this thread. If it's relatively minor... I do expect a spike over the weekend as people check out the patch - I'm mostly talking about persistent players. -
Modern Earth Versus The Tomorrow War Whitespikes

I'm sorry - but T-Rex Analogs are impervious to 30mm autocannon from attack helos. Hollywood said so. So Aliens? It's Game Over Man! (Forum rules prevent linking the actual movie clip) -
I'm with you. I just need a break (and so do they) from time to time. Fact is - my kids got back to school quite early and it was really good for them.

Tried separating the rover from the lander at KSC using both the XS and Small docking ports. Same result; Ship destroyed. Problem? Nothing was destroyed. Thanks Pretentious Kermin! First vid has Small Docking Port: Second vid has XS docking port. Multiple problems emerge: Cannot switch to Kerbal in different module to EVA him - you can see him on top, but only one Kerbal shows up in the viewer. Can't use "[ or ]" to switch views between attached craft. So I can't EVA the little guy on top. Using the XS docking port, both ships still destroyed. Except that both Kerbals survived - and there is NO way to switch to either one or control either one or either Pod or Rover.

Let's see what happens Thursday-ish. If the patch is good, the weekend might show a spike. If not? 400 might be a daily high -

Watching epic failure and big booms was one of the promises of this game. I hope it's the first thing they get rid of (once they start looking at player feedback) -

So are we thinking launch attempt for SS/Booster is slipping to April or later? -
I don't think this is the big performance overhaul. Sure we had a pre-launch kerfuffle about the perf requirements and a lot of people want those - but if you listen to the pre launch interviews they mentioned two parallel processes there. The big overhaul of the PQS that was the topic of Dev 18 isn't coming this patch - or, likely, soon. The other process was things like resolving resource hogs like fuel calculations - except we don't know which ones are on the list. All we know is the process - identify the largest slowdown and try to fix it, then move down the list. Other groups are fixing the low hanging fruit if it's part of their sub section of the team. So I'm guessing they are focused on the things identified in the pre-launch message and a few identified since that are relatively easy to resolve.

I disagree with you on the short term. The news that 2 is a buggy mess and that the basics are not working is way worse than the game not being refined for potato computers. This is PC gaming and it was ever thus. You have to have a marketable product before you start thinking about expanding the market.

Steamdb showing 'staging' - likely a good sign they're on track. Ofc if they discovered something gross and yucky it will slip - and that is okay if we can collectively start breathing again after the first patch!

Help Needed . . .
JoeSchmuckatelli replied to bjc23's topic in KSP2 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
It's been a while but from what I remember I used to select the opposing docking port and set as target, then switch ships and do the same. But I can't seem to get that to work in KSP2
