Still locking 'what' down? Link doesn't show anything but a login/join request -
I think this poll is too binary. I don't want it to be the default. I'd like to retain the feature as something I can open by clicking the Parts Manager Icon at the bottom of the screen... but not by right clicking on a specific part. When I right click - I want a small panel just for that particular part to open - so I can have a couple of specific parts up in small windows like before. With GREATLY reduced font and window size.

Bought the game - Instant Regret - i hope this is a joke
JoeSchmuckatelli replied to Moons's topic in KSP2 Discussion
There are a few interesting posts by people who suggested that they actually don't need the feedback. That they did know the exact state of the game... And had to release it anyway. That the patch coming out is only ancillarily related to anything reported by the players - but is actually the same part of the development cycle that they anticipated needing to introduce after being told to release as EA on the 24th no matter what. If true, the devs are taking it on the chin and driving forward with the plan - when the real hiccup was being told to pivot and put together a EA package. -
After Covid I couldn't imagine being homeschooled/homeschooling. Need a break from those people at times. ... And yes I'm talking about my kids.

Developer Insights #18 - Graphics of Early Access KSP2
JoeSchmuckatelli replied to Intercept Games's topic in Dev Diaries
These are not bad suggestions - but for the Studio to license and train would be expensive. Thus, unlikely to happen. -
What have you been playing recently? (Other than KSP)

Still playing KSP2BugHuntExtravaganza. Still reporting bugs. Looking forward to EA starting in (hopefully) 2-3 patches! -
It was - before KSP2 was put on life support. Now I fear it is the artificially living undead. Just hoping they don't pull the plug before someone discovers the cure!

Back around 1997 while on Float in the med, I discovered a series of books that were really well written. Sort of a near-future dystopian (but not fantasy dystopian like many of the recents). Kind of like a pragmatic, unfun Communist takeover of Europe / NA - but I don't remember that being quite so explicit. Basically everyone lived in these huge cities where the walls were essentially sprayed plastic. Or plastic sprayed over a frame that then hardened. Everyone lived in apartments. (Not like Niven & Pournell's 'Oath of Fealty' but there are elements/themes that are similar). The government was essentially the bad guy, but they were distant, controlling and not fun. IIRC the action focused on several characters resisting the heavy hand of the government. My mind tells me that the author either was an Asian American or had an Asian surname - but I could be wrong. If I can remember - it was at least 3 books, maybe as many as 5. By the time I was reading them in '97 they were all in paperback. Striking a chord with anyone?

Failed again. Keep trying to find stuff I KNOW is on Kerbin... but not finding it. Ran out of fuel.

Help Needed . . .
JoeSchmuckatelli replied to bjc23's topic in KSP2 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Presuming these problems are not the result of known bugs - docking in orbit should work similarly to KSP. I'd grab an old docking video and just watch the tutorial. That said - I've had a LOT of weird stuff happen when docking/undocking; so be patient. Could be bugs. Also, KSP 2 farings are frustrating and not as user friendly as KSP. When you can get the '+' icon, use it. Some people are suggesting making your farings VERY pointy. GL -
I've been flying repeatedly around the locations where in KSP there were pyramids and tracking stations. Like the mountains on the continent west of the KSC continent - and the area NE of the Crater Island on the same continent. Baikonur. Nothing to find. Anyone found either of those - or anything on Kerbin other than the Island Runway near KSC?

This is absolutely repeatable, including after a shut down and restart. Loading into a save with a plane (perfectly functional) in flight, as soon as the load screen ends and the player can see the plane - adjacently placed parts separate and the plane disintegrates. Then the game freezes, partially. Player can still move the camera around - but some of the parts are frozen midair. Player can switch to Tracking station and back - but the plane is gone. Also - EVERY TIME I close the game - 4xAA shuts off.

I'm guessing they either did a 'virtual beta' - where some kind of software ran the game through various combinations and reported data, or a paid-for 'beta testing service' of people who have no idea what KSP is and who did limited testing, said 'Everything is cool' and then published. Had they done a traditional, Closed Beta with invitees from the Forums, Reddit or other long-established people who are invested in the success of the title... it would have been what we've seen over the last two weeks - but NOT PAINFULLY PUBLIC. I'm thinking it will take them all the way through 1.0 to recover from the reputational damage at this point. Compared to Satisfactory's EA launch/experience, this is painful to watch - and unfair to the dev team

JoeSchmuckatelli replied to Moons's topic in KSP2 Discussion
Sure you did. I've but to go back through your pre-purchase comment history to see that you were all over threads where people talked about the plethora of bugs. You couldn't have been on these forums for the last two weeks and been blissfully unaware of the problems with this release. That said - Thursday is the target for Patch Day. Should that day keep it's timeline, I suspect a lot of the glaringly obvious bugs will have been addressed. More will remain. We are effectively in a Painfully Obvious Paid Open Alpha for the time being. I'm confident the next two patches will get us into Paid Open Beta territory. Two more? EA should begin. Enjoy the ride! -

Contextual. I'm certainly being presumptuous - but out of respect. And... you know what. -
But be careful!
