[1.7.2] KK Launchers - Delta, Atlas Pack
sciencepanda replied to Kartoffelkuchen's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I modeled a dragon and dragon 2 a few years ago. I’m working on getting the cargo dragon working in game and should be ready for release soon, I hope. I’ll do the same with the Dragon 2 whenever I figure out where I put the files from the original model. -
Now that finals are over and I have some actual free time, I've put some time into remodeling the entire LC40, and I'm happy with the results. Here's the progress so far: So I can see a few questions: 1) Where'd that Dragon come from? 2) That looks done, why haven't you published the update? Well, the answers are: 1) It's an old project that I've recently brought back to life. I hope to publish that in the near-ish future. 2) See for yourself: Yeah... That's not supposed to happen... I'll fix it... I hope.

[1.7.2] KK Launchers - Delta, Atlas Pack
sciencepanda replied to Kartoffelkuchen's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Funny enough, I have a cargo dragon model that’s been gathering dust for the past 2 years or so because i gave up on trying to texture it.... perhaps it’s time to dig it out.... -
SpaceX Autonomous SpacePort Drone Ship (ASDS) [1.2.X]
sciencepanda replied to sciencepanda's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
The propellers are more for show than anything else. Use the RCS to move through the water. I made them ridiculously powerful so they could be used in water (water resitrcts motion a lot more than air). -
SpaceX Autonomous SpacePort Drone Ship (ASDS) [1.2.X]
sciencepanda replied to sciencepanda's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
It should work as is. I do have an update in the works, but the update required a remodel of the ship, which then requires new textures. I’m terrible at textures, so that responsibility has been handed off to a friend of mine who has far more talent than I do. Unfortunately, real life tends to get in the way. Thus is why all of my mods have been more or less on pause. -
Check that you have the mod installed correctly, and make sure you have modulemanager. The mod includes a config file for MM that adds a node to the F9 octoweb for the pads to attach to. In the case of the F1 and F9 1.0, the M1C engines already have attach nodes.
-
There should be an attatchent node.... key word being should.....
-
Hmm, I'll play around with it an see how well it fits. If a simple config works, then yes. If it requires a new set of parts, then I'm afraid I simply don't have the time to remodel everything.

Update 1.5.4 is Live!!! Yesterday, it was pointed out to me that my model of Falcon Heavy's launch pad was missing the compression bridges, so I spent an hour last night to model them. Just in time for Heavy's first flight on Tuesday!!! https://spacedock.info/mod/626/SpaceX Launch Towers

Hmmm... odd. I’ll check it out. Plenty of things I could’ve messed up to cause that. Edit: Found the problem! Just a typo in the cfg. Here's a patch: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zksvjizz5jxhyjt/part.cfg?dl=0

[1.4.x] Stock Launch Pad V1.0.2 (Abandoned)
sciencepanda replied to sciencepanda's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I'll work on updates when I get the change. I'm back at college now, which means the amount of free time I have is basically zero. I'll do my best to find time to work on this sometime soon, but no promises. -
SpaceX Autonomous SpacePort Drone Ship (ASDS) [1.2.X]
sciencepanda replied to sciencepanda's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Yeah I know, but I can't in this install. I have a separate KSP install for mod development. I only install the mods needed testing. Installing the texture switch mod would be unnecessary. -

Did someone say Robot? Just need some textures and she should be good to go -
My plan was to release Vandy when I release Apollo, but as expected the textures for Apollo seem to be taking longer than the Apollo program itself..... my current thinking is to re-export all my mods through unity 5.4.0 (I've been using 4.2.2 this whole time) and add Vandy then. So that should be soon. I'm currently messing around with another mod (personal project, won't publish, but I'll share pics upon request), so I'll publish Vandy soon after that. Hopefully before I return to college, so that means sometime in the next 3 weeks. Update: Version 1.5.3 is live with some remodeling and the addition of Vandenburg: https://spacedock.info/mod/626/SpaceX Launch Towers Apollo towers coming..... eventually..... hopefully before we have a colony on Mars....

Did someone say Vandenburg?

[1.4.x] Stock Launch Pad V1.0.2 (Abandoned)
sciencepanda replied to sciencepanda's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Perhaps now is a good time to explain why I chose that license option. The short answer is this, it was their quickest and easiest option and I was more concerned with getting the mod out to the community, I didn't feel like taking the time to research different license options. Now that this issue has been raised, I'll look into the other options and relax the licenses on all my mods. The licensing on each of my mods will be relaxed when I update them. I'll look into updating this mod, I haven't touched this one in a while, I'll see what I can change or improve. -
Saturn towers are in the works. Most of the work is done except textures. The models are very complex, which means the textures will take time to do properly, and more texturing skill than I have. That's why I've handed off the work to a friend of mine, so for now I'm just waiting for him to have time to actually do the textures (sadly real life takes priority). Yes I could spend five minutes and throw something together, but I refuse to release anything that you can tell was thrown together in five minutes. The ITS tower is a much shorter answer: not any time soon. The tower in the release animation is really just an artistic concept and is most likely nowhere close to what they'd actually use. I will not be making a mod from the tower in the animation, as that would mean putting work into replicating a glorified stick. Not worth my time. Trying to guess what the real thing would look like would be exactly that, a guess. And the real thing would be many years down the road. So unless SpaceX releases a new animation with a more realistic tower, I will not be making that tower any time soon. That being said, I have put thought into doing the launch mount itself (minus the tower part as previously explained). Additionally, I have recently come across some very detailed, up close photographs of the pad at 39A for F9 and FH, so I may put some serious effort into remodeling that pad. We'll see if I can find the time (again, real life takes priority).

Not cancelled, just sitting on the shelf waiting for me to have time. College takes up a lot of time. Luckily my last final is tomorrow so I should be able to get working on that again soon. I'll post updates when there are updates to post.

Update 1.5.2 Is Live I finally got around to fixing small errors in the scaling of the towers. The claws now fit around the rockets at the accurate height. I also decided to have some fun with custom fairing textures. Download the update here: https://spacedock.info/mod/626/SpaceX Launch Towers Rockets are from Kartoffelkuchen's Launchers Pack:

I'd call this a pretty nice view. Update 1.3 is LIVE!!!!! Newly updated textures, updated model, added thrusters (rcs) for maneuverability, and ballast. Yes..... also, this only happens in kerbal: -
I wouldn't hold your breath, I expect it to be a while. They will come out eventually, but I expect the textures themselves to take a while, and lately real life (mostly calculus homework and exams) tends to get in the way.... But like I said, they'll be out eventually. In the meantime, let's see what other cool ideas I can think of!!!

Saturn 1b milkstool is done... took a lot less work than I expected.
