  1. Well I went ahead recorded one, just messing around in the VAB for a while. Didn't take long before CTD. That small jitter at 35s is an alt tab. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zf6ke2BpQew&feature=youtu.be Logs https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4518195/KSP.log https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4518195/output_log.txt
  2. Nope, spent around 5 minutes in VAB before crashing again. From deleting a part as usual.
  3. Company Of Heroes, 1000 hours for 30e. Company Of Heroes 2, 800 hours for 60e. Elder Scrolls V Skyrim, 86 hours for 10e. Counter Strike Global Offensive, 350 hours for 7e. Good games, you should try them out. Then there is KSP, 111 hours for 25e. 1.0.5 was the first version I've got. Probably 10 hours of those is constant crashing in 1.1.2, trying to figure out what's wrong. Not complaining about the value here either, but I think it's pointless to argue about value per hour when it's so subjective.
  4. I mean, if the game works for me why should I care about countless of other people who can't play the game at all right? If the game is working for me, why should I care, I'd just keep playing. Essentially this poll is asking whether the game works for you or not. Then there's this pointless value for time spent argument again. Most of you who are posting on these forums have thousands of hours game time, not all of us have that. KSP is nowhere near the most best value product I have on my steam account and I can say to you there's no other game in my library I have spent nearly as much time debugging the game as I do with KSP.
  5. Is the Previous Stable Release of Steam BETA tab referring to 1.0.5? I really would like to roll back.
  6. I'm sorry it kind of turned into a rant on my part and I prolly should've read the 47 pages of this topic before commenting. Thing is, like people have commented before, is there something a regular player is ought to do besides submitting crash reports? I did participate in the 1.1 prelease, I did report bugs I encountered and I did actively follow the tracker. I feel like there is a certain threshold of hours spent on debugging a "released game" before giving up in frustration. Because in the end of the day if the process continues like this I'm actively testing, debugging and bug reporting a product they released an year ago. Why isn't this an early access title if the developers are treating it as such? Yeah, this turned into kind of a rant again but that should be understandable when people's expectations are so high as they are.
  7. I'm not sure you realize what's going on right now. Game is literally unplayable for most of us "whining" on the forums. There's no excuse to break the game just to allocate more resources on a PS port while ignoring the issues of the original game. Ffs, if you can't make a working version of the original PC release, why bother with a console port at all.
  8. Imagine you had just bought this game a few days ago. You don't know anything about the game before you installed it and encounter the gamebreaking bugs that are at hand atm. Someone saying he had the very best £/hours of game time of value wouldn't comfort one at all. I'm baffled someone even brings this up, someone might have 1k hours from early access and it doesn't mean a thing when the game is fully released. Infact, if you're anything like me you'd be avoiding early access titles like a plague exactly to prevent things like this happening. As for vacations. Personally I think every member of the development team has deserved it. This game is a masterpiece when it works, but you do have to have a contingency plan for stuff like this.
  9. I realized something that somewhat works for me. If I'm launching the game from Steam it won't take 5 minutes before I'm back to desktop from VAB. However, if I use the launcher from the KSP folder I crash far less frequently, say once or twice in an hour. And yes, the crashes certainly have something to do with deleting parts and undoing.
  10. Tried to get back to KSP after the public prelease (which worked fine). Now I'm constantly crashing in VAB I read somewhere that deleting parts with delete key instead of dropping them into the sidebar may help so I'll have to try that out. Edit. Nope, didn't work
  11. I actually figured out the rendezvous pretty quickly, but the last 5km was full of pain. Probably around an hour of several attempts and dozens of near misses I realized that I should just stare at the navball instead of the spacecrafts
  12. After 90 hours I finally figured out correction burns Since then I've visited Duna twice, dropped an Eve probe from manned spaceship after docking the probe onto it and today I landed on Gilly and returned home safely. Gilly is so silly it's my favourite place so far
  13. I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I've re-entried dozens of times with Chute+Command Pod+Science Jr+Service bay+Heat shield. As a matter of fact, that has been the standard re-entry configuration since getting the game in December.
  14. I have heat problems in all Unity games. Turning on vsync helps a ton. Recently bought a new PSU which helped aswell (the old one was falling apart though).
  15. Lol this topic is still going. Thanks for the helpful tips. I think this topic can be buried though as far as I'm conserned. So much has happened since making this I'm quite baffled myself. I landed to Mun, left my Kerbal there and then sent a rescue party with a scientist to Mun to fetch her back. Unfortunately I ran out of fuel at Kerbin orbit and had to rescue the rescue party using jetpacks Love this game.
  16. Oh, no I didn't. I was skimming through the wiki and found this: So I figured they don't act as decouplers so that you can't dock anything to it after you've decoupled something from it. I guess I misunderstood that part. Thanks again for the help! Bought the game three days ago and I've been doing so many experiments and test configurations lately. I think I was starting to confuse myself and fail to find any logic behind this
  17. Thanks for the help. The 10km really seems the most difficult part of every take off I've taken in the past aswell, and the more complicated the aircrafts go, the higher hurdle it seems to be. I'll explain my logic behind this. I put control surface wings to top because I figured they would stabilize the craft if it starts overturning towards horizon, essentially softening the turns. I already did very very subtle turns though, so I guess those proved useless in the end. I don't have a cone at the tip of the ship because there is a docking port there and I'd like to keep it that way as long as possible. So yeah I figured I should forget pretty much everything I saw in that video and stopped worrying about the angle too much. Just focusing all my energy to keep the thing in stable turn, turning as slow as it'll take as long as the craft keeps properly aligned. I guess the most simplistic way once again prevailed and I should not have gone overboard with the control surfaces. Now on to add one more stage for suborbit-orbit transfer and I guess I'm good to go to! Thanks again.
  18. I'm really confused about the aerodynamics of the launch stage. This design is based on my earlier spacecrafts, which retain full control perfectly. It really seems like adding just a little bit weight to the craft messes up everything. I recently watched this youtube video after getting frustrated with this thing. My design follows the line towards horizon perfectly, stays in line perfectly, but everything goes to ruin once I get over 10km and the thing just flips over. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=588095675 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=588095758 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=588095812 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=588095887 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=588095949 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=588096005 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=588096087 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=588096161 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=588096242 I'm trying to launch 2 small probes into the orbit to try out the docking port. Launching 2 probes to the orbit really shouldn't be this hard :/
